Great video gash. When you were doughing in at the beginning the cap on the middle that got covered in grain actually looked a bit like a little zombie head lol 3:19. Keep up the good work mate. Cheers!
Great video mate. I just got a Robobrew Gen3 and did my first all grain brew today and I chose this recipe to be my first proper brew. In the fermenter now and I pitched yeast at 21 degrees and backed it off to 18 degrees right after. I hope it turns out well. My OG was 1.060 but I can't work out why, happy with how everything went though. Cheers mate...
How's the Robobrew going now? I had some issues with efficiency so interested to hear if you experienced more of this and how you've developed brewing on the RG3. If you can be arsed.
Hello! Thanks to your videos I decided to buy fermzilla. I’m waiting for the delivery. I am wondering when you cold crashing you have to lower the pressure or not? Greetings from Poland!
I thought I didn't like Citra until I used it again in a recent brew and it worked out nicely. That mash did look very thick, hope it all worked out well for you. Nice video as always
Its more habit to be honest, forgetting mostly, in between chasing kids around and finding the time I can mash in. No other reason! hahaha Cheers mate!
Just want to say thanks. Trying my variation of your recepy now and it smells wonderful and taste really nice. Not mutch of a variation, but I use marris otter instead of viking pale (thats what I had at home) and boil in my grainfather (sorry for the spelling, live in northern sweden)
Good video mate. To prevent it from sucking in when you are cooling it to pitching temps, can put a blast of co2 in. Also mitigates and chance of infection being sucked in. Cheers mate 🍺🍺👍
Cheers Tim , I must of edited that bit out.. thats the same brew I did for the spunding valve video months ago, this vid has needed editing since January lol and thats exactly what I did, cheers for the heads up though!
Love your vids mate, very helpful, particularly for a newb like me! I have the 35L on the way. Do you leave the low current heater on during the mash once you start to recirc.?
Hey there Gash, could you please explain in a few word how this chiller is working? I'm trying to wrap my head around it but can't figure out how you can chill your wort while it's going through the chiller... Thanks!
Its a counter flow chiller while hot wort goes through a centre pipe, cool tap water goes through an outer pipe that surrounds the centre pipe. Does that make sense? Cheers!
@@HomeBrewNetwork Yeah makes a lot of sense !! Thanks for replying so quickly. I'm trying to figure out the best setup to use the Robobrew in my small appartment. Unsure how i'll do it just yet.
@@HomeBrewNetwork no...But have brewed 4x super stone and woods..around 6.5/7%. 55% american ale, 40% wheat and 5% sour grapes with a lot of vic secret in lieu of galaxy.
So no top screen to mash.. I was gonna do that on my klarstein next brew.. seems to me the top screen compresses the grain not allowing good flow.. nice video!
Only time I might use it is if for any reason I have to leave and go down the street or something, I'll either just turn the pump off or use the top screen so if it starts going down the centre tube its not taking grain with it.
I got them from here, but looks like they only have a few different ones, maybe message them, but if you after it just for this recipe, just sub it out, let me know if you need help homemakeit.com.au/search?type=product%2Carticle%2Cpage&options%5Bunavailable_products%5D=show&q=viking+ Cheers
Think I used it maybe 3 times, I dont like it. I like to have access to the grain easily, to stir, add things, whatever. Got used to it in the robo 1 I guess, it didnt have one. I think they are more trouble than they do good. Cheers Jason!
Thats the floating pick up tube, the fermenter empties from the top so you're not drawing up yeast etc, you can use it to serve from after the ferment if you like. Cheers!
you need to get the yeast in soon as possible so get your wort coming out of your chiller at 20 c just open the cold tap faster and slow down the out flow from the chiller it take me 1 hour to fill a 25 litre drum from the chiller but look a nice brew may have to try this one
Nice vid mate. Great insight as per usual. And i love the cgi zombies too! Cheers Gash 🍻
Thanks for watching mate! Cheers!
A great thorough detailed G2G. It sure looked and sounds a treat. Good work. Thanks for putting it together 👍🏽🍻
Thank you for watching RedDog, Cheers mate!

Wish we had those temps in Canada, bloody cold and wet here.
Thanks for the video. Cheers, Chris
Starting to get cold here too :( Cheers mate!

Nice looking beer Gash some nice greenery on the top in the fermentasaurus too 😎 its all flavour!! Cheers Mate, Mike 🍻🍻
More hops! hahaha Cheers mate!
Great video again Gash - Ill drink to multi cultural beers! - cheers Might have to make this one again - oh and great zombies 🤘🤘

Great start to finish brewday and a cracking beer at the end, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching and the kind words mate, Cheers Steve!

Love the channel Gash! Curious why you stopped using the “underletting” technique on your Robobrew? I prefer it. Saves time/effort stirring in grain.
Its more habit to be honest, forgetting mostly, in between chasing kids around and finding the time I can mash in. No other reason! hahaha Cheers mate!
Thanks Gav for sharing this. I love Citra and I will be brewing this one. Thanks again. Obviously you still like the Viking Malt as I do. cheers
Just heard a rumour Home Make It wont be stocking it again, maybe it will move on to somewhere else? Cheers!

Intro looked like my ex crawling out of the gutter
Great vid once again Gash!
Thanks Birdy Bro!

Great video and further cementing my desire to invest in a Grainfather :)
hahaha Whats the catalyst? Cheers!
Hey mate great video. I can see you looked fatigued and tired. Take a brake mate I know how it feels.
Cheers takecare.
Yeah this was in January mate I was pretty crook at the time! Hope you're ok mate, cheers!
Hey Mate,
What was the reason not to use the plate chiller? Cheers?

@@SamuelUrbain Either no chill brewing or a counterflow chiller would be great options!
@@HomeBrewNetwork No chill brewing would mean transfering the wort into the fermenter and letting it cool over night?
Thanks!
Its usually into a food grade HDPE cube or water vessel like this ua-cam.com/video/vG8RlbN0_TQ/v-deo.html
Cheers gash- never brewed this one... Think I may have to
Thanks for watching Stass, Cheers!
Nice , will give this a go .
Cheers mate!
What's with the no chill, is it too hot where you are to chill it down?
It usually is in summer yes, and it saves a hell of a lot of water. Shortens brew day and no need for sanitiser. Its a good option to have. Cheers!
Cheers mate! 🍻
Cheers lemooo
Great video mate!!!)))
Thanks mate, cheers!
Looks great!
Thanks for watching Grant! Cheers!

Where do you get the Viking Malts in Oz
It was from a shop called Home Make It, Cheers!
where do you get the viking grains from in melb?
I got them from here, but looks like they only have a few different ones, maybe message them, but if you after it just for this recipe, just sub it out, let me know if you need help homemakeit.com.au/search?type=product%2Carticle%2Cpage&options%5Bunavailable_products%5D=show&q=viking+ Cheers
You really should start using a drill-mixer to help you dough-in more easily! cheers.
Where can I get that hat?! So cool
It was from Little Creatures Brewery for their 18th Birthday, I'll keep an eye out if they sell them again, Cheers!
Good head there!
Cheers Jon!
How many litres have a this Robobrew? 30?
Its called a 35L Robobrew/Brewzilla , it can boil about 30L or wort max. Cheers!
Interesting to see no top screen is there a reason gash?
