For those not using Logic there's a free program called Ultimate Vocal Remover which is fantastic for stem separation as well ;)
do you know if it's possible to rip tracks from Spotify, tho? I don't have physical copies anymore 😅
@@t3hsis324 Only if you use some software that can record your computer audio dirrectly into your DAW...I know there are some but can't remember their names.
Easier to rip tracks from UA-cam 😅
@@t3hsis324Yes-- but as far as I know you need to play the tracks and then record your computer's audio. It can be done pretty easily with free programs like Audacity.
@@t3hsis324If you're ok with ripping tracks illegally, you can find better illegal ways to get the tracks you need (wink, p-word, wink)
@@t3hsis324 probably. its 100% possible on youtube but if you dont own a physical copy its illegal cause if you own it digitaly you dont own it you just get a license that gives you the right to listen to it. but if you own it physicaly you have the right to own a backup in whatever form you want. because its yours.

Vocal Remover is better IMHO and is a lot easier and free to use. But I send the guy $2 for his Patreon so I can use it whenever I want, as multiple uses will be restricted. 4K Video Downloader will pull it off UA-cam for you so you can get the original recording free, and then throw the song - preferably on a lyric video - into Vocal Remover and it'll separate out the Music & Vox for you. Throw the Music & Vox both into Reaper, and the original video on a separate track [but mute the track] & drop the gain on the vocal track. Presto, you have an instant Karaoke track with lyrics using the original artist's music and you can refer to the original Vox if you need to. 👍👍👍

I've been using Ultimate Vocal Remover for the last month or so. Works perfectly with any song. Any song i've tried so far, anyway.
The only problem with vocal remover is that sometimes you can still hear the vocals. It's faint, but you can still hear them. Not every song though.
@@danielthomas2895 Yeah, i guess you get the odd song where you can slightly hear them. Depends which process method you have downloaded too, i guess. Some work better than others.

Ohhhh paranoid android brings back memories. Wish that Spotify did this for the vocals - they have the lyrics sunk to most tracks - being to click a button to mute the vocals in app would take it to the next level. This is still really cool for those who have the patience and software, though! Makes me wonder how many cool things I've missed.
Also that chorus isolated was really cool. Sounds even more haunting Acapella.

i think Logic Daw had the best features but all other DAWs like Pro Tools should have this.

Don't give up.. practice, Practice..I'm the same age, and I get to practice singing by going out and singing karaoke and I noticed the more I do it and use what I've learned from these videos have helped alot..Don't give up..

Just use something like Pulse and any recording software.
Start recording, and then Pulse Audio pipe your monitor of your output as an input to the same program. Boom, there's your perfect noiseless sample.

I've been using vocalremover recently to strip songs for covers in an attempt to get back into singing, in combination with watching tons of your videos so it's nice to see you mention it.
Constructive criticism is highly welcomed from all - but here's a track done with vocalremover. This one is pitch shifted up a touch but the Mayer ones are raw

It’s much more than that. It uses AI to separate out the instruments and different parts.

It seems that vocal removers will be of a little use to people who try to sing songs with all original vocals and instrumentals and then decide to remove only original vocals to make their covers.
It works all the time for me. I use the full instrumentals for my covers here on UA-cam.
@@chrisliepe So, programs now can recognize different intermingled vocals (yours and original)? I thought that programs remove all vocals just as one option and leave only instruments.
