As an HG survivor it blows my mind just how many people didn't understand that I was still sick right up until giving birth. Yup HG is ridiculously awful because you can't do the (seemingly) easiest thing in the world - EAT for your baby & yourself. I had HG with both my pregnancies, lost at least 25 pounds, had such bad electrolyte instability that I developed a heart arrhythmia, had such low blood pressure that I fainted upon standing and fell, fracturing 2 vertebrae in my spine. Docs need to better educate patients about the seriousness of HG and treat thoroughly. I'm glad I'm an RN and could stay home and administer my own meds/IV fluids through a central catheter. I felt frustrated about how they decided not to believe what I would tell them because I was on my first labor. It’s awful when they don’t believe what you tell them! Even in death he was still giving to people, he truly was a great man. I miss him dearly. While he was alive, him and my grandmother watched over me while my parents were busy. Also, this was fascinating to watch and apply to personal experiences. I became pregnant when I had ovarian cancer, and the tumors grew along with my baby. I remember not being able to even breathe properly at about 30 weeks because the tumors were just being pushed wherever they could fit as my uterus grew. I went in to see the doctor and they admitted me immediately. The neonatal specialist said they were perplexed at how I was able to continue to carry with so much being squished around, and that my body was carrying the equivalent of 3 fetuses, but only one was in my uterus and the other two weren't, which makes for an entirely uncomfortable experience. After 20 to 25 weeks, even bumps in the road while riding in the car could at times be unbearable. In the end, the little one was worth it, and truly a little miracle.

The nausea and vomiting is still happening even now in my second trimester, but as awful as what it is and has been, I'm relieved and happy to know my baby girl is growing and as healthy as ever! Hyperemesis Gravidarum survivor here 🙋🏻‍♀️ I Can honestly tell you, that I felt like I was at deaths door many times, during my last pregnancy 😮 To say that it was very hard, is an understatement.
Our daughter is “made” on Ondansetron, watermelon and Sun Lolly. I have not had a single bite of watermelon, since pregnacy. 😂 How I made it through, is beyound me. But my then 2 year old daughter and husband, kept me going.
I am so happy, to have 2 beautiful daughters now. Some women suffering from HG have to either terminate the pregnacy, or loose it. And they will never get to have a baby 😢 So I feel very blessed, to have my girls, after all that suffering.
One thing that has really changed, is my eating habits. When my husband is cooking meat, or bacon, I just about die 😂 The smell was so severe during pregnacy, and 7 years after, I still don’t eat the the things I used to, before getting pregnant.

Don’t be scared. Your body knows what to do. Take care of yourself and your body will take care of the baby.

Your body, the female body, knows more. There's nothing to be scared. That's why we are called women. It is embedded in our DNA to give birth. Your body is now going into autopilot in that regard. You just need to eat healthy, do not stress, and live happy.
If you see a movie and it makes you cry, go for it. Sugars, at a minimum, gestational diabetes is real. Keep your baby's father close. Things will change for him also. Otherwise, have fun.

Holding my 4 month old now and this video was a great learning experience ❤ I knew about most the organs getting moved around but had no idea it moved the heart around as well.

I just had my second child this summer after 18 years. I had the first as a teen and wasn’t mature enough to understand or appreciate the process. This time around though… absolutely mind blown. ❤️
