First time wrapping a car and does a cracking job this is good enough to be a tutorial for us beginners got me excited about doing the roof wrap on my current project well done mate :)
Sounds like a coroboration between Mat Armstrong and yourself would be good. you can show him some decent spanner wangling and he can show you some wrapping tricks maybe????????
Don't think Mat Armstrong needs to be shown any spanner work! Try watching his videos and you'll realise how decent he is mechanically, more than you could ever dream of being that's for sure! When you've rebuilt an Audi TT, Audi S5, Q5, Bentley Conti GT, Maserati GranTurismo, Audi R8 and Golf R, come back and comment then!
I wrapped a couple of bits on my motorcycle after watching a few of Matt Armstrongs videos. The bits I did definitely weren't the easiest to do but I think after you've had a few goes and learnt the do's and don'ts it's definitely worth a go but not easy. Top upload Dean 👍👍😎😎
looks like you got the hang of it quick. One thing I noticed when watching loads of yannimize videos is that they dont trim the excess like that, they like to tuck it into the body and wrap around into the creases, because they probably lift of from the edges if you try and flush cut it.
It's a long learning experience to figure out how the vinyl "behaves" with different heats, stretch etc but once you've got it, it's SO rewarding. I do it just to relax, honestly. Keep going man.
I tried tinting the rear screen on an old Saab 9000 CD years ago. I didn't know that you had to pre-shape the film on the outside of the car first and then apply it inside, what a mess! Paid a bloke to do it in the end. All credit to you for persisting and making a decent job.
Well done mate . Wrapping looks a nightmare ! Clay barring your car is very satisfying . The results you can achieve are amazing. Well done for your staying at it . Great vids , keep em coming .
I am surprised how much I liked the colour. Props to yourself mate it is looking great. Better to have a go yourself than pay someone else!!! Keep up the great content and hopefully SOON you'll be able to you tube full time.
Tip I learned is use a heat gun to heat up the door skin around the dent to make it a little more workable when straightening it out. For the vinyl, maybe try cutting to size then securing the vinyl wrap down the middle with masking tape, then work from the centre out and fix one half then remove the masking tape and fix the other half from the middle out to the edge, that way you aren’t fighting such a big area of vinyl, great job on the bonnet still, especially around the curve of the VW badge.
You can’t beat a clay bar. Had a mk4 Mondeo 2.5t titx black and it was so dull the paint don’t think it ever had been looked after. After a clay bar and a decent wax put on looked like brand new. All my new cars I get always get a clay bay and a decent wax. Great content keep up the good work.
Good job so far doing the wrap and yes, good choice of colour and I was glad to see you kept it real and practical and didn't jump on loud and lairy bandwagon (nothing against it, that's just what everyone does these days).
Your perseverance with troublesome tasks sines through! Well done - I was shouting at my screen - not that way - take it from the top!!!! But job well done!!
Looking good so far and at the end of the day at least you can say you tried your best. Keep up the hard work and thanks for sharing this with us take care and can’t wait to see the next one
Well done fella, not a bad job and looking forward to seeing the finished car, I've got an xj6 that I was thinking of wrapping but after watching that I think I'll get it resprayed lol.
You did so well to even have a go! When it ripped more I thought rip it off and throw it in the bin! I wouldn’t even entertain the idea but good for even trying!
Not bad. On corners you heat and stretch so you don’t get the little vinyl tag. Try to remember you are not wrapping a Christmas present and fold over corners. Try to seal those ones you already have already other water will get in and lift the vinyl really quickly. Great first attempt. You also need to get some isopropyl to clean the panel before you lay the vinyl.
That wrap didn't come out too bad for a first attempt, I had a little chuckle when you were trying to sort out the wing because I'd be the very same as you, good job, can't wait to see the finished article 👍👍👍👍👍
Nice job, i would say the bonnet is the hardest panel to do on your own apart from bumpers, i do the occasional printed wrap as part of my job, all wrap vinyl now is air release so any bubbles disapear with a push of the thumb, keep all the offcuts for mirrors, handles and bumper inserts, again good job.
It's not a bad job at at all, I'm watching this with much interest as I'm considering doing my own car, its always gonna be a bit trial and error to start with but it's coming on nicely, probably the front bumper will be the trickiest ?, We'll done Dean.
great job, Make sure if you haven't to heat edges underneath one more time it helps them not shrink when hot from engine/sun... it gets rid of the memory of the product mate. crack on your doing great looking forward to next vid
It seems there isn't much you won't have a a go at - looks pretty good to me. I think I would have lost patience fairly early on but you clearly have it in spades!
Great job Dean, perseverance and tenacity. I would have blown my stack when it ripped on the wing 🤬🤬 Even professional wrappers have bad days! It’s all about being brave with material 👍⚠️
That's the sort of Job you could well be forgiven for trying out off camera just to get your technique right so fair play to you for doing your first wrap on camera. I'm really impressed and kinda wanna do my golf now.
I’m sure there will be so many people who are interested in wrapping something, me included, so for me it’s essential I show my first attempt, as it’s a realistic way to see what’s involved for a novice 👌🏼
Always considered Mr Tickle as the mate to get round when needing extra reach and a pair of hands..... Nice job Dean, a brave soul to tackle a bonnet alone especially as a first go. 👍🏻👍🏻
Great attempt mate, when sizing up the wrap and cutting to size make sure your cuts are curved as shape edges will cause tears hence the issue with the right wing
Respect for a first attempt mate. Proper good effort. You need to get yourself some knife less cutting tape. Makes fiddly areas so much easier when coming to do the cuts 👌🏼
Cracking job Dean mate. To be honest I would think the bonnet would have been one of the hardest jobs to do especially with the size if the bonnet and doing it yourself. Looks 👌
*WRAP TIPS* Always start from the middle of the panel, and try not heat the wrap in the middle of panel also as when it gets hot it will shrink over time and it will crack. " and that mark on the bonnet is caused by overstretching. but all in all for a first try you did well.. when you get mad or annoyed walk away have a drink and come back lol. i use to almost pull my hair out or kick people out of the workshop lol!
I have to say that looks very good! i am sure it was frustrating but as you do more it will be a good skill to have, think of all that money you will save on spray jobs.
Wow you did well for your first time and on your own ! I would advise you to keep going just watch a few more wrapping videos and you’ll be a professional in no time Dean.👍🏽😎
'No mate, we haven't got any clay bars left, but you can have this Wrigley's Extra'. 😉
That looks about as easy as folding cling film, well done looks great. I wouldn’t have the patience 👍🏻
Lol I'd think I'd be the same. Wrapped around my foot, knocks bucket over, finger straight though the wrapping.
If fact, it'd be a good UA-cam video!

Lets hope tacky Max Power Body Kit 5h1t stays on the MA channel and doesn't infect this one !!
Horses for courses! He makes a point of saying what he does isn't to everyone's taste, kind of the point.

Not bad for a 1st attempt, probably do with an extra pair of hands when using vinyl to keep it pulled tight when applying.

Nicely done!!
Impressive to see you having the guts learning on camera! Way to go!👍👍👍👍😊

A very good job from where I'm sittting. Top marks for getting stuck in.

Your perseverance is inspiring, glad you included the dummy spit when it didn’t go to plan as well.👍

Job well done! Lovely choice of colour
Good job so far doing the wrap and yes, good choice of colour and I was glad to see you kept it real and practical and didn't jump on loud and lairy bandwagon (nothing against it, that's just what everyone does these days).
Well done! Great first attempt at wrapping the Golf ! 👍👍
Thoroughly enjoyed this, amazing work keep at it!
You are obviously getting more confident with each panel and have given me the confidence to have a go on mine. Thanks. :-)
Well done! Not bad for a first time. Everyone has to start from the beginning. Look forward to the end result.
Thanks for showing the way- made me realise all my cars are full of dings. Didn't bother me much before...
really good m8 you have a natural flair for wrapping cars
For a first attempt, that looks superb. It'll look brilliant when it's finished, although I haven't got the patience to try myself.
Your perseverance with troublesome tasks sines through! Well done - I was shouting at my screen - not that way - take it from the top!!!! But job well done!!
Very impressed for your first time wrapping. Looks great looking forward to seeing the finished car👍👍👍
Well done mate very gutsy took some balls to do that.
Great colour choice. Looks nice, did a good job.
Looking good so far and at the end of the day at least you can say you tried your best. Keep up the hard work and thanks for sharing this with us take care and can’t wait to see the next one

Well done on your first attempt. Golf is looking great, keep up the great content
You did so well to even have a go! When it ripped more I thought rip it off and throw it in the bin! I wouldn’t even entertain the idea but good for even trying!
Really good job for your first go at it, looking forward to seeing it all one colour.
I feel all of that wrapping frustration... Your words are far more polite than my own!

Fantastic job for your first time and respect to you for having a go, it looks great :)
Hats off to you! That looks like you need a whole tonne of patience!

Saying this is the first time you have wrapped a car you've done a great job
Nice job, i would say the bonnet is the hardest panel to do on your own apart from bumpers, i do the occasional printed wrap as part of my job, all wrap vinyl now is air release so any bubbles disapear with a push of the thumb, keep all the offcuts for mirrors, handles and bumper inserts, again good job.

Great first time, gives me ideas for my car
Looks mighty fine. Credit to your persistence. Had some proper laugh out loud moments watching this but hey you nailed it 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
great job, Make sure if you haven't to heat edges underneath one more time it helps them not shrink when hot from engine/sun... it gets rid of the memory of the product mate. crack on your doing great looking forward to next vid
Good work saving salvage. Well done mate 👍
Great so far Dean, admire your patience
It seems there isn't much you won't have a a go at - looks pretty good to me. I think I would have lost patience fairly early on but you clearly have it in spades!
all credit to you a very good first attempt, well done.
Practice makes perfect. Not bad for your first attempt. Good job
Looks good, tip for the other panels is to try glass the panel as much as you can before squeegee.
Great job!! I would have got half way through doing the bonnet and chucked the whole lot in the bin
Looking good. Just a thought, if you’d bought the wrap the same colour as the back of the car, it would be nearly done by now!
Great job Dean, perseverance and tenacity. I would have blown my stack when it ripped on the wing 🤬🤬 Even professional wrappers have bad days! It’s all about being brave with material 👍⚠️

Looks good for first go. Makes me wanna do my golf.
Great job mate. You always grab the bull by the horns and go for it. Always tremendous content, cheers.
Very good for a first attempt I would be well happy with it
Very impressed with the look of the bonnet mate for first time doing it. It's not easy at all. Gutted about the wheel arch.
Always considered Mr Tickle as the mate to get round when needing extra reach and a pair of hands.....
Nice job Dean, a brave soul to tackle a bonnet alone especially as a first go. 👍🏻👍🏻
Looks great for a first attempt, ck wraps has great how to videos
Great attempt mate, when sizing up the wrap and cutting to size make sure your cuts are curved as shape edges will cause tears hence the issue with the right wing
Yep! Learnt that one the hard way 😂
You've done an excellent job as wrapping is much harder than it looks. I'd definitely get more extra wrap then needed to allow for errors.
So you can wrap dean. Well done mate.🙏
Practice makes perfect my guy still doing pretty well for ya first time 💪
*Looking really great - well done.*
Looks like a really good job so far mate, looking forward to seeing the rest being done!!
Cracking job for first attempt.... hear you mention your dad helps out when required, extra pair of hands will help 👍🏼
Looks 👌
You poor old man wait till you get to 70, keep up the good work my son.
This was like me putting a screen protector on my phone, only less painful.
Looks good Dean, you've got more patience than me!
Looks spot on good start.
Hat off to ya pal for giving it a go and to be honest you wouldn’t know a beginner had done it👌👌👌
Well done , I wouldn’t even attempt it - looking good
*WRAP TIPS* Always start from the middle of the panel, and try not heat the wrap in the middle of panel also as when it gets hot it will shrink over time and it will crack. Makes wallpapering a doddle. Good on you.
Great job on wrapping it's first time great job 👍
I like it a lot you done really well it looks really interesting to watch
Well done Dean... didn’t you hear me shouting “ it’s ripped at the top of the wheel arch mate. STOP..”. Great vid.
I have to say that looks very good! i am sure it was frustrating but as you do more it will be a good skill to have, think of all that money you will save on spray jobs.
Well done for having a crack at it mate, it looks a decent effort so keep going and don't give up
She is looking well Dean
Better patience than me, looking forward to seeing the rest
Look good Dean to say it's your first time wrapping cars 😜 great content as always mate 👌👊
Wings and panels, id give it a go, it’s things like door handles and mirrors I think are tricky.
You'll be fine doing the wrap, just remember the skills you used when you did those roof rails !😄👍
You've got some patience I'd have thrown the lot on the floor after ten mins and put a massive dent in bonnet 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Wow you did well for your first time and on your own ! I would advise you to keep going just watch a few more wrapping videos and you’ll be a professional in no time Dean.👍🏽😎
Nice Job For First Time. I'd be well happy if i could do that.
When you tried to pull the wrap and it tore even more , had me dying off laughter ! not a bad Job though
I can’t even wrap a present let alone attempt a car! Well done
Really good job mate for ya first time
Well Done Dean. Another String to Your Bow. 🎯🎯🎯👍
Looks good, did a good job for first time.
Watched within 2hrs I listened 😉😉, looked top class on video Dean, I'm sure once done and your more confident we will see a few more get wrapped.
Well done Dean it looks good 👍👍👍👍👍
Made it look easy dean keep up with the great content 👌
dont forget to post heat the vinyl to simulate the sun heat hitting it and bubbles will show up, press the bubbles down with your finger
