Darth Marr will always be the greatest member of the Dark Council in my opinion. One who truely understood the dark side of the force and did not let it become a chain that bound most Sith that think they are free when their Darker nature has chained them.
Personally, my favorite response to Baras "The Master shall grant the slave death" is the wonderfully acted "I was never, nor shall I ever be, your Slave"
and with Baras defeated for a second time, all I have left to say is: that lightsaber of yours CANNOT be up to regulations. Looks as likely to stab yourself with it as it is with your enemies

There are 10 different lightsaber configurations that i know of off the top of my head, ignoring the Darksaber and Synthetic Sabers, and some of them have more than 3 vents depending on their config bro, there is no set limits and you can really have as many as you want. Here's a list you can look up: 1) the Standard 2) Double bladed (This includes the spinny ones) 3) Cross Guard (The one your talking about, which is so different to wield in combat compared to the standard it's considered a different type of saber entirely) 4) Curved-Hilt (Dooku) 5) Pike (Temple guards) 6) Shoto (Luke owned a natural red kyber crystal one) 7) Lightwhip (Rwoh or the Nightsisters used this one) 8) Gauntlet (Which will never not be cool as shit) 9) Batons (Maris Brood most famously) 10) The Legendary "Quadblade" (A 4 bladed, 4-vented, lightsaber built by Rowlf Swayze in legends) and probably many others.
@History Tank It used to be that Baras was 50 and your level was scaled down in that instance to make him truly a challenge... But then BioWare implemented that planet level scaling system which robbed the challenge out of ANY fight that wasn't on the level 50 one.

And Anakin was the chosen one, it isn't like he couldn't afford a realistic prosthetic (If that exists). And I think it would be very unlikely to an exiled Sith to get a realistic prosthetic that not even one of the most important people in the galaxy could have.
The fact that it is even possible to spare Baras is mind blowingly dumb given how dangerous he is. The man can beat most sith in a 1vs1 and he had a massive galaxy wide network of spies and people who own him favors, he'd be off his banishment planet or prison in a few weeks and then he could cause a lot of damage to the empire with his knowledge as a former council member.
He is exposed as a traitor and a fraud. He is now enemy of the empire cut of from resources so his spies will leave him just as people who own him favors will most likely report him to the Empire, and will be free from those favors by making sure Baras is disposed by Empire.
Yeah, even roleplaying as a lightside (or just a practical) Sith I tend to just kill him. There's no path to redemption for that man, nor will his continued life ever be useful to me. If he is ever encountered again it will be him acting against us and our efforts in revenge, and he's far from a spring chicken, I doubt he'd become any more of a challenge than he was here, so there's no reason to treat him like Goku treated Vegeta and keep him alive for a future challenge.
The shame of his defeat won't allow that to happen. If his supporters now realize there is nothing he can do and he is powerless to come to them directly due to his banishment, they won't be afraid to leave him alone. Granted, not all his support will be gone but after a humiliation like this, the image of a sith without political or personal power is quick to make traitors out of their followers.

I think one of the best things about watching your light side sith videos is that most of them have him walking into a scene. Make it look like he’s just a wandering ronin, going off to confuse as many people as possible.
Which also plays into the experience at Tatooine for both LS or DS warriors. They are faced with the mirror image of what they could be and they either accept it or reject it.

One major thing I love about the warrior storyline is that you get to experience how a Sidous/Vader teachings would work in the Old Rebubllic world and makes you emphasize with Vader since you know he does not have any chance to regain his freedom like the warrior has.
I like how even at this early stage, Marr was kind of skeptical / nonchalant about following the Emperor, going on about how the Emperor's Wrath did have ultimate authority but he _would_ challenge the Wrath if their objectives conflicted with the Dark Council's. For a while he may have viewed the Emperor as the supreme leader of the Sith but he has always been for the Empire itself first and foremost.
I can just imagine the future conversation between the wrath and the dark council all right: -Sooo, about that "light" side of yours... -Yes tell me? -Have you ever tried you know... not to be good with people -This is who I am I just cannot change it! -I'm sorry wrath you have to understand it is... hard... for us to deal with it... 😂
really loved these piles of clips showcasing the LS sith, i wish that a tv series or a movie explored the idea of a sith that acted like this as its very interesting to see the hypocritical reactions from jedi and the general dislike of the normal mustache twirling sith villains from their own kin.
Imagine if on the lightside choices, the Sith characters would try and convince the other Sith that it is actually a dark side action, so as to hide his light side. For example, if the Dark council started questioning the character here for not being "Wrathy" enough, he could just say that it is worse than death to have Baras live in his failure. Otherwise it seems kinda akward to have a Sith claiming to be the Wrath of the Emperor incarnate and just show mercy like that to a personal enemy, and just walk away without an explanation. Still really cool o see a Sith do this.
It's also amazing to note that, right after Baras was defeated, the Sith Inquisitor also defeats Thanaton. The Dark Council basically had First Row Seats at two epic Gladiatorial matches between Sith.
Not really. I sent him to outer rim too. He surfaced again during Nathema where he was trying to get his revenge. Funnily enough he was so dumb that he got used as a host/vessel to wake up the machine god. Honestly just for that it was worth not ending him. I thought he could reform in the outer rim but well… some never learn from their ways.
If you kill him, you do so be putting your lightsaber hilt up to him and activating it, which looks hilarious if you're using a sword and not a lightsaber.
I remember after Tatooine, I began to go light side Sith Warrior. Made it so much better being an honourable sith. Never killed out of fun, only when all other options were gone. But Baras... one last sin to wipe the slate clean. A gentle slip of the lightsaber through his innards... and he was a mess on the floor. Goodbye Baras. You started a war with a nice sith and found out he had no patience left.

Honestly im surprised killing him wasnt the light side option. Is it really better for him to waste away on the far corner of the galaxy until he either dies or worms his way back rather than granting him a quick death? I know the jedi stand against dismemberment in most cases, but relieving him of his head in one strike was surely more merciful than leaving him to wherever another (much more dark) member of the Sith Council would have him sent to for the rest of his days? On top of that, what if he found power wherever he was? He’s still a Sith Lord, maybe he gets sent somewhere and discovers an innocent indigenous population that he twists to the dark side and forms a cult that comes back to kill however many more innocents. Leaving him alive and putting him somewhere far away just seems like the worst option in so many ways, but if you’re trying to do the right thing and follow the light side path, its the only thing you can do as far as the game is concerned. Just seems like a very odd choice is all
This fight was quite difficult in the early stages of the game. What now is a little push it was a boss mechanic then. You fought at lvl 50 and the "Voice of the Emperor" was a special ability of Baras and if you did not interrupt it timely it would kill you. The push would literally throw you across the chamber and you would be dead afterwards.

To be fair, SWTOR players now will never understand the struggle that facing Darth Baras back before they changed it so your stats matched the planet not your level. Back when the level cap was 50 and Baras had 3 times the HP he does now. It's to easy now which while still satisfying to beat him, it feels a little tainted due to it lacking the original struggle. I remember having to ask for help the first time as no matter what I did I couldn't beat him unlike now it's roughly two or three button presses.
Baras was such a meme, pity he had to die such an ordinary death. Oh well, enough of that momentary lapse of judgement, now onto the matter of the Sith Empire's social media dominance against the Republic.

Vincent D'Onofrio, the actor who played Kingpin in the Netflix Daredevil series, would make a perfect Darth Baras.
This is my favorite character of yours to date. I'm sad to see his story end. I hope we see him again if you play the expansions etc.
