All act 2 mercs being named Emilio is like when I found out that the act 1 rogue can be named Kyle. Now every time an act 1 sidekick dies, I'm all "Nice going, KYLE. Try not to suck so much KYLE."
2OS helm+2OS armor+4 20/2 PSN jewels=laughably easy start. Though you obviously need to have those jewels ready to go as they're not THAT common. Preferably also a 3OS bow filled with chipped gems. Wham, you're doing >100 dmg at level 1. Once you hit level 5, get a new bow with 3 flawed gems. After that, you can get to level 18 just with that. Or you can cheese-switch to a 3rd bow at level 12 with 3 regular gems. Using a bow is because early on, you're unlikely to be fast, so with a bow you don't have run around as much. Also nice to have Sigon's gloves, belt and boots, 50MF from level 6 or thereabouts. Another option is Hsarus set for decent bonuses or belt and gloves from Arctic set, 40MF from level 2ish depending on strength.
I always start my alts with a 40/2 helm and 40/2 armor. You're absolutely right, it's entertaining to watch things just melt from the poison damage. Even on P8, you hit things once and then hit the next thing, because they'll be dead in 2 seconds or less.
I think it ruins the initial enjoyment and reason to get the game. Once you've seen the man behind the curtain the game just changes. The wonder is gone, the trying is done the caring is done. Just rush thru to get where you know where items/exp is and rush rush.

The reason that Caine doesn't use the town portal when he's in his cage is because they appear a few feet away, not directly on top of you. If he opened the portal where he was, it'd appear outside the cage and he'd still be screwed. Now if he had telekinesis (to activate the portal from a distance) or teleport to get out of the cage, you could make an argument that this is a plot hole in D2, but as it stands it makes logical sense as to why he still needed rescuing even with a scroll in his pocket.
I don't wish for nerf to FoH, but if Blizzard devs decides to nerf FoH/Holy Bolt build, I hope they at least boost the heals from Holy Bolt & add heals to the bolts released from Fist of Heavens. It's been a dream to see at least a "B-tier" healer paladin for 22 years...👴👍
Then they would have to remove pierce from Holy Bolts... or at least add a dimishing return for every enemy passed (like 25-50% reduction of damage/healing each enemy/ally it passes)
For those wondering the difference between Paladin and Crusader, it’s their mission. Paladins are holy warriors who will fight all the forces of evil. Crusaders focus mostly on the forces of evil that rally against Zakarum.
Akkhan figured out that there was corruption at the heart of Zakarum and created the crusade to purify the faith. Under Akkhan's orders the way they did this was by travelling far and wide, looking for ways to purify Zakarum. Akkhan stayed behind to fight Mephisto and died, but by sending the crusaders away he ensured that unlike the paladins they wouldn't be corrupted along with everyone else in Travincal. They became a kind of "ark" that would survive the flood of evil that would destroy the rest of Zakarum. Eventually they returned, some years after Mephisto was destroyed, and are more or less the last remaining branch of the religion. The mission of the crusade has therefore become to restore the religion by purging evil from the world and spreading awareness of the power of the Light.

@MrllamasSC Id be really huge to wacth you playing while you recycle as many stuff as you can with the cube to get good equipment not only from the NPC drops.
So used to not saving Cain he uses ID scrolls in town lol You can get Hotspurs and level 21 in normal on high enough player count. I do that during cow season lol That's where I find most of my hotspurs.
Holy shit that bolt is good early. Though curious why not get one into hammer at 18 to replace auto attack? Could you hotkey potions and the like and quick cast them?
It's honestly not bad. Damaging undead and demon is not worse than damaging with a single element. Immunity to a specific element might even be more common than non-demon-nor-undead.
It does keep your Boi alive so he can tank your immunes. On controller I have holy bolt set to right trigger and when I press the a button I seem to cast holy bolt at my mercenary.
might respec my hammerdin into this when patch comes out. i dont enjoy the hammer cast animation and the fact u have to be in melee. This looks like a lot of fun clearing demons with holy power from a distance, also its visually appealing
@@faycal799 No. Ladder is a separate game mode. Offline and online characters will still be playable. If you chose to play on ladder, *then* you start from scratch.
I honestly wish they would just commit and let the holy bolts damage everything... at this stage limiting a single subset of monsters out seems daunting more than anything. There's still magic immunes so it's not like it would be broken to let every type of mob be damaged by the bolts.
I think it's good where it is with only hurting demons and undead. There's a theme to it that gives it a niche and I think that makes it interesting and more fun.
Lol. "There's still magic immunes." *laughs in super OP Hammerdin* I like the demons and undead thing. Makes it interesting and Pally really doesn't need two chars that own the whole game besides Ancient Ones.
Is putting steel in a scimitar a good idea for this guy? I know if I'm doing a lot of Melee with the holy fire it's a good idea, if you have the runes at least. - Yes, thanks MrLLama.
Hi llama, I did the maths and you maximize Holy bolt dmg by keeping HB always 2 levels above the sum of its synergies. So if HB is level 10, blessed hammer should be level 8.
so just out of curiosity with the countess p1 thing, is the added drops from her at p1 outweigh what the champions in the area could drop at a higher player count?
He only uses p1 on the last floor and there's usually just one champion pack there, if any. P1 is specifically to keep her from drawing fewer runes from her treasure list and if you're farming countess it's the runes that you really care about. She's the only repeatable source of near-guaranteed runes in the game. You can farm elsewhere for experience and items. Short answer: yes.
Also the countess is so special you can change the player count after you spawn her so you can kill everything else at higher player count and still get her p1 drop
Pretty sure all the mobs in the entire tower are demons/undead so should be able to clear the tower with the holy bolt spray on FoH alone. The Countess is fire and cold immune so unless she rolls lightning enchanted the light from FoH will hit her for full damage too.
holy bolt can pierce start from 2.4? or its alr been able to pierce for awhile? i rmb last time holy bolt is very bad skill as it oni dmg undead and hit 1 target.. or heal ally

Holy bolt and FoH should work on all mobs... at least 50% or something against non demon/undead.
I appreciate Mr.Llama giving such exposure to Autism Awareness via his chat donators.
This entire experience was very painful to watch lol. Thank you for testing for us
It's honestly not bad. Damaging undead and demon is not worse than damaging with a single element. Immunity to a specific element might even be more common than non-demon-nor-undead.
@@bohanxu6125nothing is immune on normal difficulty is probably the most noticable issue
I ran holy bolt and it’s really good, up until the point where it literally does 0 damage for entire sections 😅
It does keep your Boi alive so he can tank your immunes. On controller I have holy bolt set to right trigger and when I press the a button I seem to cast holy bolt at my mercenary.
I needed this
might respec my hammerdin into this when patch comes out. i dont enjoy the hammer cast animation and the fact u have to be in melee. This looks like a lot of fun clearing demons with holy power from a distance, also its visually appealing
I think you cant be using non ladder chars when ladder starts , you will start from scratch
@@faycal799 No. Ladder is a separate game mode. Offline and online characters will still be playable. If you chose to play on ladder, *then* you start from scratch.
enchant + explosive bolts + fire mastery could make a fun crossbow sorc......
Would it be better to level blessed hammer before maxing holy bolt since it gives 50% bonus dmg to holy bolt?
I honestly wish they would just commit and let the holy bolts damage everything... at this stage limiting a single subset of monsters out seems daunting more than anything. There's still magic immunes so it's not like it would be broken to let every type of mob be damaged by the bolts.
I think it's good where it is with only hurting demons and undead. There's a theme to it that gives it a niche and I think that makes it interesting and more fun.
Lol. "There's still magic immunes." *laughs in super OP Hammerdin*
I like the demons and undead thing. Makes it interesting and Pally really doesn't need two chars that own the whole game besides Ancient Ones.
Plus 3 holy fire and plus 3 holy bolt scepter the way to go
ahahahahaha glad im not the only one to name him misterfister
Doing trav runs is probably better than farming the temple for this build, I think.
Is putting steel in a scimitar a good idea for this guy? I know if I'm doing a lot of Melee with the holy fire it's a good idea, if you have the runes at least. - Yes, thanks MrLLama.
Stony Tomb runs are gonna be NUTS
Someone knowns when 2.4 will go live?
Soon...
Ich their schedule is somewhat right in should be about 3 to 4 weeks ich no other big rework is comin
Hi llama, I did the maths and you maximize Holy bolt dmg by keeping HB always 2 levels above the sum of its synergies. So if HB is level 10, blessed hammer should be level 8.
Is blessed hammer a hidden synergy?
I noticed this today as I was playing but the buzzards are classified as undead.
so just out of curiosity with the countess p1 thing, is the added drops from her at p1 outweigh what the champions in the area could drop at a higher player count?
He only uses p1 on the last floor and there's usually just one champion pack there, if any. P1 is specifically to keep her from drawing fewer runes from her treasure list and if you're farming countess it's the runes that you really care about. She's the only repeatable source of near-guaranteed runes in the game. You can farm elsewhere for experience and items. Short answer: yes.
Also the countess is so special you can change the player count after you spawn her so you can kill everything else at higher player count and still get her p1 drop
Quck question, would you recommend a pure FOH paladin over a Smiter/FOH hybrid?
Is there any statement about the first ladder start?
so holy bolt or fister would be good for hell countess right? lightning dmg and holy bolt will dmg everything
Pretty sure all the mobs in the entire tower are demons/undead so should be able to clear the tower with the holy bolt spray on FoH alone. The Countess is fire and cold immune so unless she rolls lightning enchanted the light from FoH will hit her for full damage too.
Do ED stats on equipment boost holy bolt damage? Is there any way to boost besides synergies?
No and no
Cake has flour in it and pies do not, pies are fillings. so the answer to Is Cheese Cake a pie answer would be yes.
Was this changed since the video or can I still use as a leveling guide ?
"give yourselves the clap!"
MrLlama what channel do you chill in on d2r?
I gave my barb merc a Spirt and it did work as a double
Do they have the Frenzy Merc on ladder ?
wish they just made the skills do dmg to all types
I miss the old spider models with the weird bulbous dangling abdomens. They looked weird and unnatural. The D2R spiders look so generic.
how far would you suggest going with conviction
47:39 Emilio is there, with the skill he wants, still doesn't get him.
I wonder if the no heal from FoH is a bug
not watched fully yet, and I wonder, could one level holy bolt & holy fire, and just zeal down the non-undead/demons?
can you clear the game decently with a solid endgame foh build without the need to respec?
holy bolt can pierce start from 2.4? or its alr been able to pierce for awhile? i rmb last time holy bolt is very bad skill as it oni dmg undead and hit 1 target.. or heal ally
Yeah, 2.4 adds ability to pierce and damage to demons. It used to only be damage to undead.
