I too am an idiot, who was trying to learn how to load this nailer, and you saved me the headache you had. Buying the experience of someone else is priceless, thank u.
I love that you shared your mistake! I just this got this gun and after your video I’m going to be super vigilant about keeping those straight nails da ell away from this tool! Thanks for sharing 🙏
I just did the same thing with a rented tool (associate even pointed me to the wrong nails) and I was sweating bullets trying to figure out how to get it out. Thank you for this video!!!
Wow the suspense nearly got me! I was watching every detail so carefully (I thought) and I didn’t pick it. Glad no permanent damage has been done. Super keen for another quick update of the guest house. When you have time. 👍
Wish I would have seen this earlier! Did the same thing. Was unable to get the angled nails in store... guess ill have to order some, did the nail gun perform well after the damage?
This explains lots of bad reviews on home depot website for this gun with pictures of the nail coming out from plastic magazine instead. I suspected that they used straight instead of angled nails to have that happen but this confirms that those people were just either not reading manual properly if at all or just lazy idiots who think they already know more/enough and then blamed manufacturer on their errors which is even worse IMO. For an experienced contractor it should be more obvious that straight won't work since firing pin/tip always shoots out straight so if magazine is positioned at angle it should also click that nails should be also at angle, it's been like that since Paslode guns were a thing that also had straight and angled options as well (angled coming out slightly later than straight). Worse thing is that people claim they did "everything right" and gun jammed on "the first nail" that should have been a good giveaway for them though.
If you can't work out that this needs angled nail then maybe you shouldn't be anywhere near a nailer in the first place? Going to get yourself or someone else hurt!!
Hehe, I agree, but I did get the nails handed to me in the same store I bought the nail gun in, so I didn't think twice about it. Thought it was a bit strange with straight nails since my other nailgun has angled ones. Well, I learned to double check what ppl hand me at least ;)

Ouch! That sounds stressful! 😬
Kind of their own fault though, if they got you the wrong nails 😅
I'm also an idiot which is why I'm now watching this vid.

Hehe, yes, not sure yet though. Need to get the proper nails, but hopefully it's fine 🤞🏻

I did the same thing. Thanks for sharing this. God bless!
Thank you so much for enlightenment! Obviously I did exactly the same thing, thinking that I ruined my gun!
Just a heads up but there is one spare tip stored on the nailer. Near the switch is another rubber tip.
Aha! Thanks for pointing it out, would've never thought it was a spare tip!
whar switch

Aw, sorry to hear that! Luckily, it didn't seem to have any effect on the tool at all, works like a charm 🙂
Thanks to everyone using the wrong nails, I got a slightly damaged one for $150. New part is around $10, if I decide to "fix" it. thanks guys! 🙂
Haha, that's awesome! I should start looking for slightly damaged tools too!
OMG, are you serious, thanks so much, I ordered this from Ebay, and it shot out the same way, Thank you so much
I'm an idiot... thank you for saving me 😊

Did you get the damage fixed under warranty?
I could have, but I just didn't bother, it's still working as intended, just some minor cosmetic damage :)
