Huntsman V2 TKL, bought it after Techne's review and its a fantastic TKL. My prefer size is 65% therefore it does not get use as much for gaming but it has been used daily as my work board. Another great video!
Did you get the linear switches ? And if you did , do they feel good or "mushy" ? Because I am interested in buying it and I am afraid that they are going to be mushy .
I got HyperX Alloy Orings Core (or just Hyper Origins TKL for short) in January of this year by your recommendation. I've put in the Razer PBT keycaps, lubed stabilizers, lubed switches (without desoldering), foam modded it and I'm freaking loving it!
Nice Video Man I appreciate all the videos you've been doing ! Although I'm sure the keyboards you mentionned are all great and you can't go wrong with any of them, I just don't see the point of showing them being already modded in a video because most people won't/can't afford to do that especially at first. It would be great if you show the keyboards in stock and then rank them based off that. But nonetheless it's a great list :)
A lot of mods are like.. free. Just gotta decide how much you care. If you wanna go full 1st world you gotta pay for it. Start donating spare organs. I'd rather scrounge up some bandaids and lube but hey maybe that's the broke gang in me.
Hey! My new Corsair K70 made the list! I spent about 2 weeks straight comparing TKL boards from the 40 to 200 dollar range and this bad boy was one of the few that wasn't too gaudy, had dedicated media keys and wasn't missing the print screen button that I use on a regular basis. I put some rings on the caps and it rounded the ping out a little, but I agree 100% that the sound it outputs is its biggest weakness. Luckily, I can't hear it through my headphones.
"This keyboard sounds absolutely amazing in my opinion" Taking about the SteelSeries, the hilarious thing about that statement is that I'm on a laptop and after Opera Gx introduced me to the concept of adding keyboard sounds to my laptop (I love key sounds and my laptop's aren't very loud (good for people around me)) I found Mechvibes which is a program that adds keyboard sounds to your computer digitally. I looked through hundreds of switches and the one I've been using for a year and never switched off of is the SteelSeries Apex Pro V2, which sounds extremely similar to your mod hahaha.
appreciate this vid Techne! ive got the k70 TKL by Corsair and I agree with the pinging on the board. Would be nice to see u try make a tutorial modding it if possible, cheers!
Question about TKL keyboards, Some don't have "Print Screen" button. or "Num Lock" These are the only buttons I use on the full size KB. Are you able to keybind them back into a TLK KB?

With the hyper x, the port being on the right or in the middle seems correct to me I am not used to this left side stuff that's been coming out lately.
I hate when keyboards have usb on the right side. Better if it is like steelesries and then you can adjust which side you like it. But if you want some nice custom mod cables then with usb port on the left side only.
I kinda prefer it being on the right because of how my desk is set up, plus the board itself is clean and sound decent. torn between this and the hunstman v2 lol both are nice boards.
I like that discreet sound of the high profile CTRL keyboard. Any red switch style keyboards similar to this? I'm up for modding if it will get me closer. Coming from old Cooler Master Quickfire with Cherry MX browns, everything's a bit loose, I'd like a tighter keyboard.
People hate on cherry switches due to them being scratchy, the silent reds in particular because they cost an uncharge on keyboards and they aren't actually that silent. Kailh silent linears, rosealios and durok dolphins are are significantly more dampened in terms of sound
@@TheTechne zeal switches, gat ink v2s, durok and ktt switches are all smooth enough without lube but admittedly are expensive for switches.Cherry switches do get bashed excessively and are fine with lube, but the problem is the upcharge over other options.
