+1. I hope they know how much their show and adventures have meant to so many people. Forever grateful for what they have done and the legacy they have created.
This was truly one of the most emotional moments in the history of any long running series or TV for that matter, these 3 have bought entertainment to so many over almost 3 decades, have been watched and enjoyed by all generations and propably will leave this as part of their legacy for generations to come, and as much as we all knew that this moment was coming sooner or later, we all simply could not except it. I've grown up with these 3 and will always remember them fondly.
I had a knot in my stomach towards the end of the episode knowing the end was coming and started crying when Jeremy unplugged his mic. Thank you guys for all the memories!
The bit with the tree started me off lol as it reminded of story Hammond said about what it was like when he was in coma. If u not seen i urge to as its powerful and shows just how powerfull are brain is.
Not just the end of a show, but an end to a chapter in all our lives. Feels like losing a friend, but the legacy will live on. Thank you chaps for everything
dont worry atleast clarkson still has his farming show, hammond and james may still upload on youtube too! the trio is over but atleast we'll still be able to get up to whatever their next shenanigans are... :) also can rewatch The Grand Tour, re-experience all those adventures one more time
The flash back from Bostwana Special really got me. Jaw dropping and i wept. Thank you BBC for being kind enough to share the scene with The Grand Tour. It was a cruel move but necessary. Gosh I don’t what we’ll be doing after this without seeing these 3 blokes working on tele ever again…
They clearly stated that it's only the joint work. There will be no trio anymore. But all three guys won't be out of the waves at least in the near future. Clarkson has his farm ("Clarkson's Farm" which ironically is a quite popular show on Prime Video), May has a world trip show ("James May, our man in..." and "James May: Oh Cook", also in Prime Video), and Hammond has his garage ("Richard Hammond's Workshop", in Discovery Plus, and also Prime Video) Also, the three guys collab in DriveTribe from time to time.
Truly the end of an era. This show helped me get through some really tough times and has always been something I looked forward to over the last 15 years of watching it. There will never be another one like it.
Both endings suck in a emotional way as in suck i mean soul crushing I don't mean oh the ending sucked ass no it sucked because this is is this is end of a era great 😭
Have you ever gone up and see the two cars from the Botswana special? The Merc and the Beta, just wondering, I would do that if I live there too, lol 😅😂😂
And with this, my childhood, my teenage years and my early adulthood come to a close. These three blokes accompanied my afternoons and evenings for 20 years, getting me into cars and adventures. I'm surely gonna miss them ❤
@@Charlie-Charlottowards the end of this episode when Jeremy said they were going to actually finish in Botswana, I had this gut feeling that maybe just maybe they might be reunited with the Lancia and Mercedes and I’ve never been so happy to be right about something in my life.
I went through a long phase of disliking Clarkson as a younger man and that was all really rescued by the farming show. 34 now. Really does feel like the end of youth... maybe that's what we're all mourning. Funny thing, it's just a car show...
I was 12 year old dork who was just about to start high school when I first watched the Botswana Special. I was already interested in cars but after watching that special, cars became my entire world. Since then I’ve had many wonderful experiences working in the automotive world, including five-year stint as a NASCAR crewman. Watching these guys return to where it all started made me realize that everything I’ve done in my career was due to the little spark that Jeremy, James and Richard lit inside that 12 year-old me. Seeing the three of them ride off into the sunset was a beautiful end to what was a wonderful journey for all these years. Thanks for letting us all come along for the ride. 🇨🇦
So awesome man, idk if they will ever truly realize the positive influence and spark they’ve inspired throughout many generations worldwide. It’s amazing how someone we’ve never meant can change the trajectory of our life just from their passion and authenticity.
I was smiling like an idiot for most of the episode. But when they arrived at island at we got flash backs. My smile disappeared and I could feel tears building. And I spent the last minutes of this fighting back those tears. And just saying thank you to Jeremy, James and Richard. For 22 years of...joy

I just watched it and at the end I was sobbing like a little boy, with my girlfriend in awe, wondering why I'm getting so emotional over a car show. But it's not just a car show. I've grown up with Clarkson, Hammond and May. 22 years of the best entertainment. Hell, TG and GT episodes have helped me through some tough times and now this incredible journey is over. Now, I know they will eventually meet up for some kind of mini-something, or even just a video conference and we'll get fun banter, but this is the end of an era and it's a very sad moment for carguys all over the world. Did they really have to do us like that with the exact same spot and everything.
I have been a carparts seller for 20 years now. I love my job, i love cars because they have a kind of soul and these three guys taught me that . Thank you for all. Greeks love you.
This was the best ending possible. I’m not going to shy away from the fact that I cried my eyes out on this one. It was not just the end of a very good show, but it also marked almost 20 years of my life that went incredibly fast before my eyes. I remembered seating on the family couch with my parents watching the trio, then trying in my early teenage years to live these amazing aventures with my two cousins on our bicycles. All three have made an incredible impact on my life and I think that, appart from getting sad that this show ended, I also mourned the first third of my life. It is bittersweet for sure, but thank you so much Jeremy, James and Richard for all you’ve done over the years ❤
These 3 dudes unintentionally changed the lives of many people including myself. People will still be talking about them in 100 years time. Leaving a legacy like that just from a tv show about cars is probably one of the most impressive things in tv history. Thank you Jeremy, Richard, James and the crew behind the camera. Best of luck for the future! I’lll see you on the road.
This marks the end of an era in the entertainment industry. It was a show which the world not only hasn't seen before, but will also never see again. My best friend and I have watched it on the day of the premiere, jokig and laughing along... but from the moment Brothers in Arms started playing and up until the very end, we sat in total silence, trying to fight of tears. Really thankful to have grown up, being able to witness... well... this!
Started watching these when I was 14 in 2004...not the very start of millennium Top Gear, but close enough. 20 years. 3 blokes in cars...simple formula, and yet, I doubt any studio will be able to do this successfully ever again.
Once I saw TOP GEAR for the very first time, I instantly became addicted to it until it was temporarily cancelled, but I never stopped watching. Then came THE GRAND TOUR, and I felt that my old friends were coming back to show us what they were really made of once more. What I admire the most about those guys is the loyalty they had for each other in their love/hate relationship. Even in their worse situations they chose to stick together as a single unit. What these 3 friends were able to accomplish on screen over the years is amazing and astonishing to me. Through TG, TGT and those "3 friends" I have been able to see and magically go to places I can only dream of. They have taken on adventures that have made motoring history over the years and I feel I have been right there with them. Sure, the new shows may continue with other good presenters as life itself continues, but CLARKSON, HAMMOND and MAY have set "THE STANDARD" to be measured by. Although I knew this moment would arrive sooner or later I am very sad the end of an era is really here. THANK YOU, for putting many smiles on my face and making my life happier every time I watch the shows. THANK YOU, TO ALL THE STAFF involved in filming, editing, logistics, producing and whatever else was nescesary to accomplish every episode. YOU ARE ALL ROCK STARS behind the scenes. I will miss TGT and those "3 FRIENDS", but as long as YOU ALL are doing OK, that's all that really matters to me. BLESSINGS TO ALL OF YOU!!!
Clarkson, Hammond and May have been sort of like my best friends that I've never met. I've had so many laughs with them and thank them for all the years of entertainment they've given me. Thank you so much, you three marauders
Who would have thought "a show about three middle aged men falling over and sometimes a car drives by" would bring so many of us to tears when it finally comes to an end. A beautiful sendoff.
Im in America, so i found these guys when Discovery randomly started airing Top Gear episodes in 2003. I was instantly hooked, and have never mised a single episode of TG or GT. The chemistry between these guys is what made these shows so fantastic. Thanks for the last 22 awesome years Jeremy, James, and Richard.
Damn. Those flashback cuts to the present really hit 24 year old me different…. So long fellas, cheers for making our childhoods awesome. Definitely not tearing up.
Watching Top Gear as a kid was how I learned English. I used to watch it religiously especially the specials. A big, giant, thank you to the trio who's blessed us with all the fun moments over the past 22 years
Started watching Top Gear with my grandfather back in 2003, he loved it. He sadly passed in 2019 so never got to see the final few Grand Tour specials. His favourite song was Brothers in Arms which we played at his funeral. When that started playing as the boys drove over the salt flats I was a mess, don't think I've ever cried so much ever over a TV show or movie. Thank you Jeremy, James and Richard for all the memories, you've bought so much joy to us all over the years and I don't think you'll ever realise it. Was the perfect ending to a perfect show. Thanks for uploading ♥️🙏😭
My grandfather loved watching the 3 lads over the years, unfortunately he's not here to view these last episodes they created. I'm sure he would be emotional like us all and appreciate their road adventures.

I myself started with Top Gear maybe 8 or 10 years ago when I binged all 22 seasons these three appeared in. Seeing it all end today was quite sad. Thanks for everything, gents. What a journey it's been.
The second they cut to the old footage, I genuinely gasped. This special felt the most genuine between the trio. Not characters or the stereotypes they've built over the years, but themselves. Thanks for everything, gents.
@@KyleRaynerCh They didnt have to. Between 2006 and 2012 TG wasnt owned by the BBC. BBC bought the videos from Andy Willman. So the Botswana special was owned by Willman and the BBC got the licence. Unbelievable, just Unbelievable. Thank you Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May for a lot of good time for 22 years.
Finally got around to watching this episode yesterday on a roadtrip with my younger brother. We started watching this in 2006, i was just starting high school and my brother was in middle school. We would always watch every episode together, and if one of us missed an episode we would re-watch it with each other to get caught up. To see the years go by and know this era came to an end was so heart breaking. My brother and I watched it in the car on our drive from LA to San Francisco and we just rode in silence for a long time. This was one of the only shows that bonded us together with a strong bond like the guys in the show had. Thanks guys.

I doubt if any of these grand gentlemen will ever see this post. However if they do I thank all three of you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of most of my adult life. I shed some tears when this one ended as it is truly the end of an Era.
Yep👍
The best trio ever. Thanks for everything guys ❤
Im a 57 yr old man. In tears after watching the last episode.
16 year old watched them since I could talk , I was left in pieces, I remember I used to run around the house shouting 'oh cock' because of James may.
The bit with the tree started me off lol as it reminded of story Hammond said about what it was like when he was in coma. If u not seen i urge to as its powerful and shows just how powerfull are brain is.
67 years young you mean :)
@@nutsack95 same mate but I thought the words were "Oh cog" when i was younger lol like in Y2. I remeber my dad telling me off for that tho
@@scottmeehan2422for me the tears started when James was talking about his green bag and had to pause for a moment.
also can rewatch The Grand Tour, re-experience all those adventures one more time
A very dear and close friend goes away forever.... Damn this is hard to watch
U probably will just not together again
They clearly stated that it's only the joint work. There will be no trio anymore.
But all three guys won't be out of the waves at least in the near future. Clarkson has his farm ("Clarkson's Farm" which ironically is a quite popular show on Prime Video), May has a world trip show ("James May, our man in..." and "James May: Oh Cook", also in Prime Video), and Hammond has his garage ("Richard Hammond's Workshop", in Discovery Plus, and also Prime Video)
Also, the three guys collab in DriveTribe from time to time.
@@HirokaAkita Clarkson and May sold their stake in DriveTribe to Hammond. May then started James May's Planet Gin on UA-cam.
Truly the end of an era. This show helped me get through some really tough times and has always been something I looked forward to over the last 15 years of watching it. There will never be another one like it.
2:50 Furious 7 ending aint nothing compared to this. I'm bawling right now.
USA: we have Fast And Furious
Japan: HA! We have Initial D
Great Britain: "SPEED AND POWER"
Both endings suck in a emotional way as in suck i mean soul crushing I don't mean oh the ending sucked ass no it sucked because this is is this is end of a era great 😭
Who else is full of tears? 😢
😢😢Me too,
I grew up with them and I can't believe it's over
Totally broke down
It is a sad moment for us. 😢
The end of an era.
Not me. Not at all. 😢 I'm fine. Just fine.
Am a lady in Africa Botswana I have watched this for years with my son's we are all crying. Big up guys .may God bless your future endeavors
Your country looks amazing, it is now on my list to travel there.
Have you ever gone up and see the two cars from the Botswana special? The Merc and the Beta, just wondering, I would do that if I live there too, lol 😅😂😂
@@JM1919MJya i definitely wanna go to botswana now
And with this, my childhood, my teenage years and my early adulthood come to a close. These three blokes accompanied my afternoons and evenings for 20 years, getting me into cars and adventures. I'm surely gonna miss them ❤
I felt exactly that, I think I was getting teary eyed because in some way I mourned my childhood and early adulthood.
@@Charlie-Charlottowards the end of this episode when Jeremy said they were going to actually finish in Botswana, I had this gut feeling that maybe just maybe they might be reunited with the Lancia and Mercedes and I’ve never been so happy to be right about something in my life.
Me too mate, from reruns on dave after primary school to now. So lucky to have grown up with them.
I went through a long phase of disliking Clarkson as a younger man and that was all really rescued by the farming show. 34 now. Really does feel like the end of youth... maybe that's what we're all mourning. Funny thing, it's just a car show...
Same, im 32, im from Mexico and they had an impact on me, thanks for everything
This show brought me and my dad together. Thank you Grand Tour, for everything.
I was smiling like an idiot for most of the episode. But when they arrived at island at we got flash backs. My smile disappeared and I could feel tears building. And I spent the last minutes of this fighting back those tears. And just saying thank you to Jeremy, James and Richard. For 22 years of...joy
Just let the tears out man
Yeah don't hold them back.
@@dnmz1885 this what we learned from them ! Guys stick together! Let them tears out brother! Hope they know what every single man feels right now (except France i guess)
Just like me
When Brothers in arms started I was done. Crushed and choked. Thank you for everything.
This!
Heard the drone note fading in, I was done.
I was crying and sobbing
Should have gone out with the brilliant and highly appropriate Brothers in Arms, but followed it with My Sweet Lord. Don't understand that...
Just watched the full episode, gut wrenching at the end, brought a tear to my eyes, feels like I've said goodbye to three close friends. Thanks for the laughs and smiles guys and God bless.
absolutely, when they were reaching the final tree I got so much anxiety because I know that, "this is it, it's over, they're done."
I can't think of a single show that has had such a lasting impact on so many of us. From myself and Australia, thank you Jeremy, James, and hamster. Not going to forget this show for a long long time
I don't know anything about cars not now, nor when these guys started. But the way they talk about it with humor makes it always a treat to watch. I'll miss them.
I’m a 15 year old boy, and despite me being younger than how long these guys have been working together, I have still watched every episode of every season with my dad, Top Gear & The Grand Tour. It was my childhood show and made me fall in love with cars. So thank you, Jeremy, James, and Richard.
Exact same for me. These 3 were my childhood
Same for me; I’m 21 now and started watching as the 21st series started when I was 10 lol; luckily I own all of the specials on DVD so I can share them with my kids (if I have any) in the future lol
I’m 19 years old, and it’s the same thing for me. Ever since I was a little kid me and my dad have watched this show together.
Well I’m 45 and have been watching these 3 since I was in my later 20s good that makes me feel old lol
James "presumably" deleting the 2 of them off his contacts lol
See I figured he was pulling up GPS😅
@@arbitterm There's no way Captain Sense of Direction would delete his contacts before he leaves the area? Hope he uses a GPS tbh, otherwise we all know how it all turned out to be tbh, lol 😅😂😂

Ikr crediting top gears first special was such a golden moment, it’s the best and the saddest ending ever
My wife has only seen me cry twice.
One of those times was Saturday night watching this episode.
Not just GUYS.. typical bloke assuming it’s only of interest to you ..😂
I have been a carparts seller for 20 years now.
It is bittersweet for sure, but thank you so much Jeremy, James and Richard for all you’ve done over the years ❤
I was not ready for this...
no one was it😢
These 3 dudes unintentionally changed the lives of many people including myself.
People will still be talking about them in 100 years time. Leaving a legacy like that just from a tv show about cars is probably one of the most impressive things in tv history.
Thank you Jeremy, Richard, James and the crew behind the camera. Best of luck for the future! I’lll see you on the road.
Glad i was born now to witness this legendary trio
Watching them ride off into the sunset... separately... It's more than enough to make a grown man cry. Thank you.
@2:22 represents when james just joined the program i guess
They ended show where they started😢, thank you for over 20 years of joy
Clarkson, Hammond and May have been sort of like my best friends that I've never met. I've had so many laughs with them and thank them for all the years of entertainment they've given me. Thank you so much, you three marauders
Who would have thought "a show about three middle aged men falling over and sometimes a car drives by" would bring so many of us to tears when it finally comes to an end. A beautiful sendoff.
It’s been a pleasure watching you lads. We are going to miss you .
Definitely I think I was 27ish when I first saw top gear time definitely flys
Thank you for everything, legends. So much joy these three bestards brought me. I wish them all and the whole team all the best in life
Watching Top Gear as a kid was how I learned English.

I have changed from teenager to middle Age watching you all! surely miss you all. Take care You will always be the greatest trio on screen ever!
I myself started with Top Gear maybe 8 or 10 years ago when I binged all 22 seasons these three appeared in. Seeing it all end today was quite sad.
Thanks for everything, gents. What a journey it's been.
I started watching at Series 4 when James May started. Thank God they are all still on the iPlayer.
Sorry yes I started watching Series 2, Episode 4.. I have watched them all multiple times throughout since then. 😀
The second they cut to the old footage, I genuinely gasped. This special felt the most genuine between the trio. Not characters or the stereotypes they've built over the years, but themselves. Thanks for everything, gents.
Crazy how they showed the original special too
Just goes to show how much they care for the Fans
I wonder if it was a pain to get BBC to give permission to use clips from that special.
@@KyleRaynerCh Maybe
They probably just asked can we use a few clips from the special to show memories
It wouldn't have been difficult. Just probably cost a lot.
@@KyleRaynerCh They didnt have to. Between 2006 and 2012 TG wasnt owned by the BBC. BBC bought the videos from Andy Willman. So the Botswana special was owned by Willman and the BBC got the licence. Also, when Sabine Schmitz died, TG and TGT worked together on a tribute and when TGT ended its tent, the compelation included TG material.
This show created my childhood, thank you for fantastic memories
The end of an era, so may have grown up watching, enjoying and wishing they could be these three. Thank you Jeremy, Richard and Captain Slow for all the years of adventures and hard work, you are motoring legends.

I've been educated and entertained by these 3 since 2006. Thanks for being a big impact to my life Jeremy, Richard, and James. My interest and knowledge of cars and adventures were all thanks to you. You three will always have a special place in my memories even after you're all long gone from this world. I will never forget. None of us will.
Ok, here in Brazil I never had many things, I was always introverted and I always had this passion for cars with me, I learned from my late father, I discovered the program in 2009 on cable TV... and since then I've been following the program... I didn't cry watching it this morning, but now at night... the feelings came... I miss simpler times, when I would just sit on the couch in my living room with my father to watch TV... thank you for 22 years!
i remember being a little girl in primary school getting up early to watch top gear before school. now i'm going to graduate university next year. time flies. really gonna miss these guys.
I sobbed. I sobbed like a small child. Through my struggles. Through the pain. My darkest moments. You were always there. Men bond shoulder to shoulder through a challenge or adversity. I am a 44 year old man. This is all I have known. All I love. The fun, the banter, the cars, the adventure it's everything. Thank you so much.

What an amazing journey it has been! Thank you for all those years!
Awesome, thank you for the memories. You have been a massive part of my childhood, and I will definitely still be watching everything TG, TGT, CF and RHW for years to come!!!
