A columns episode is under 25 minutes? That makes sense. I only/first played it on the game gear, and aside from the excellent soundtrack (something the Genesis version apparently doesn’t share), it just seemed like a more complicated Tetris that I was bad at.
I owned Columns as a kid, but funnily enough not on the Mega Drive. Instead when I got my Mega CD it came with a "Mega Drive classics" disc of the original Streets of Rage, the first Golden Axe and Columns, and since I already had the first two on the Mega Drive and really didn't like puzzle games it may as well had come with a coaster. At least I also got Road Avenger with it...
I had columns crown, part of the columns series, on the GBA and loved it. This game is pretty simple compared to that but still fun when you get massive chain reactions. I think you are all exaggerating just a bit.
Columns does take some getting used to with how limiting it is compared to other puzzle games. I like it though, and still boot up one of the many versions I have every once in a while
The VOD channel has been a few months behind the live recordings, but Derrick took a hiatus from NSO Game Club. The last bunch of episodes here have been catching up to where the show was currently at on the live side. He is still on that hiatus at the time I write this, so once this channel is caught up on the already-recorded episodes, the show will be gone for some unknown amount of time.
Shame on Sega for not making the obvious sequel: Rows😏
Ooh im excited for next weeks!

Thought this was a fine falling block puzzle game. Took a bit of time to figure out how it worked but I had a good time with it.

Wha? Is this the shortest episode yet??
23 minutes, huh? Guess there wasn't much to say about this game 😂
It's hilarious how short this one is, there truly is not that much to say about freaking Columns. XD
Apparently next week is the end of Season 1? I dont understand.
