Thank you Al. It was a challenge. A lot of clips didn’t make the cut because the wind jeopardized the shot. I flew a few batteries to get that highlight footage together. I’ll tell you this, the Avata 2 from stop to go is faster than the original Avata. It’s the reason I was able to salvage this video. I don’t think the original Avata could fight the wind and stay within frame as much as I was able to with the A2.
Wow, thank you. I really appreciate it. I had an advantage tho. I’ve been flying this track for a few years now. I know it quite well. And… A lot of shots didn’t make the video 😆. The struggle was real. ✌️😎
The camera quality was better but not having ND filters drove me crazy. The shutter speed was going way too high. I really wanted the motion blur. Things were way too sharp for me. Bro! That wind was shifting the drone like a foot with those strong gust 💨 💨💨. It was too sketchy to go top speed. The shots that made the cut were captured during those breaks between the gust. I was pushing through the constant wind which was also challenging. I could feel the resistance.
Thanks bro. A lot of shots didn’t make the cut due to the wind. The cars and the Avata 2 was drifting…lol 😆 I really appreciate you stopping in. Thanks again.
Thank you Tammie. My goal is to always be straight forward with my audience. The review didn’t go according to plan so I was being very transparent about the situation. I hope all is well with you and I really appreciate you stopping in.
I just bought my Dji Avata 2!! Coming from the DJI FPV. Unfortunately that drone crashed the 2nd time I flew it lol. Just ordered the Freewell ND Filter set kit for this drone as well! I also bought the DJI Air 3! Nice drone footage bro!
Thank you! I’m waiting for my Freewell ND filters. I should have them soon. I really wish I had them before filming this video. The shutter speed was too fast and everything looked too sharp. I rather have that motion blur. I wish the DJI FPV had a better camera. It’s so fast, absolutely perfect for drift car chasing. The Air 3 is also an excellent drone. My friend has been reviewing it since its release. You will not be disappointed. I really appreciate you stopping in 🙏. Thanks again.
Thanks Paul. I felt forced to be less aggressive on the sticks but I kept flying. I figured if I could keep the framing interesting, I could pull off some great pictures from the video. I noticed that it wasn't as bad as I remembered seeing in the goggles during the editing process. I definitely could have done better in less wind tho. Thanks again!
@CaptureLifeConnection I guess footage from the on board unit is stabilized like on the dji fpv? I remember being very unhappy with the wonky goggle footage from that potato
Hey man great video, just wondering why the footage looked blurry and over-sharpened compared to other Avata 2 videos Maybe it's because you were filming at higher frame rates? Also, great insight regarding the wind!
Thanks, 🤷🏻♂️ not sure. I didn’t do much in post. I wasn’t pleased with it. Unfortunately, I didn’t have ND filters that day. I was forced to leave the shutter speed on auto. I much rather have motion blur. I usually dial-in my camera settings. Yeah, I wanted to be transparent for those in the market for a Avata 2. There is so much paid programming on UA-cam. Not many sharing information based on real experience.
I really enjoyed the video. It looked good to me. Would you consider using the motion controller one time just to see how you can do with it ? I would appreciate it.
Thank you! I haven’t used the motion controller for the Avata 2 yet. I’ve tried it with the DJI FPV in the past (the first motion controller). I was impressed. I’m up for the challenge though. Next time on the track, I will try the motion controller 3. I’ll start practicing soon. I will make sure I have an understanding of all the features before hitting the track. Stay tuned. ✌️😫
I own both Avata drones and wind is not their friend by any means! Avata 2 in Manual Mode did much better in windy conditions than using the motion controller. Not sure how you fly, but the manual mode takes the win in the wind. Where I am located it's been rough finding nice calm days where the wind doesn't play a major factor. Those shots with that wind would have done much better with a Mavic 3 or even a Mini 3 Pro or Mini 4 Pro than with these Avata series drones. I am loving that Avata 2 so much more than the OG Avata in pretty much everything. Just wish the Avata 2 Camera had better horizon stability so in winds it still looked good and not all crooked due to wind messing up the shots.
Thank you for watching and sharing your experience. Comments like this help me and others. I haven’t tried the new motion controller 3 yet but I tried the first one with the DJI FPV in the past. I was impressed. I’m not a motion controller type of guy tho. I prefer a regular controller. Manual mode is a beast but this wind was beyond bad. I’ve flown my original Avata in the wind before so I know what you talking about. Full manual mode makes a difference. That’s why when I saw the wind in the forecast the day before, I wasn’t concerned. The Avata 2 is more agile than the original Avata. Unfortunately, the gust was powerful and sporadic. Flying the drift track isn’t a straight run. I’m changing direction and maneuvering within the constant wind as well. I’m sure I can get better results and really focus on the flying experience with better weather conditions. I don’t need zero wind. Just not that craziness I was dealing with that day. I want to conduct a review based on the drone, not the outside elements. Thanks again 🙏🙏🙏. More videos coming soon.
I think the A2 is more of a Cinematic Cinewhoop. But yo Stevy you got some great shots with some great maneuvers. Do you think it would be better in a no wind scenario at the track??
Yeah, I tried not to be all over the place while flying, so the footage comes out more cinematic. Thank you Bob, it was a struggle. I kept trying though. Yes, I believe it would have been better. I could have really focused on the shot, not multitasking due to the constant pushing of the drone. I got better at dealing with the wind as the day progressed but I was never getting 100% out of the drone. Too much resistance.
I can’t front, I enjoyed filming this. Despite the fact that the weather wasn’t cooperating. I appreciate you watching and leaving a comment Michael 🙏🙏🙏.
My avata1 is broken😢 but I am waiting for avata2 now. They haven’t got avata1 with integras in stock😅. The seller suggested this offer to me because it was insuranced…
The Avata 2 is an upgrade all around. Everything has been improved. The original Avata is a great drone but the Avata 2 is better in my opinion. It’s only the beginning of my reviews, more videos coming soon. I’ll be talking about the original Avata as well. I still bring it with me to drone sessions. And I purchased a really nice light kit for it. 🤩
Great question. I haven’t changed the rates… Yet! Stock rates. My original Avata has the following: Roll center sensitivity: 70 max rate: 880 expo: 0.45 Pitch: center sensitivity: 70 max rate: 700 expo: 0.42 Yaw: center sensitivity: 70 max rate: 480 expo: 0.38 I believe my DJI FPV is the same. I can provide you the stock rates on the Avata 2 tomorrow. Let me know.
@@CaptureLifeConnection great...so it's pretty responsive already with the stock one ^^ ( i just buyed it but didnt had time to fly yet...just spend last 2 months in to TRYfpv and Uncrashed ;) )
Thanks for the review Steve I was going to buy tge advata 1 or 2 but I think I will stay with the original dji fpv potatoe think it's still the best plus winds i wish they stop making advata 1 2 and make 🥔 2 lol
It was my pleasure. I enjoyed filming this, despite the fact I was struggling with the wind. I always have a blast at the track. I also want a DJI FPV V2. I was disappointed when I heard that the higher-ups at DJI chose the Avata V2 over a FPV V2 a while back. The DJI FPV with a more sensible design and better camera would be insane. The same way they completely upgraded the Avata. I’ll be honest tho, I look forward to flying the DJI Avata 2. More so than when I first got my original Avata.
That was amazing, great stick skills! Stevy. I couldn't even tell it was fighting the wind. Still outstanding for a cinewhoop.
Thank you Al. It was a challenge. A lot of clips didn’t make the cut because the wind jeopardized the shot. I flew a few batteries to get that highlight footage together.

This was an AWESOME video. As windy as it was you did an amazing job. I’m new to FPV flying and I hope I can fly that good one day.
Wow, thank you. I really appreciate it. I had an advantage tho. I’ve been flying this track for a few years now. I know it quite well. And… A lot of shots didn’t make the video 😆. The struggle was real.

Regardless of the wind, your coverage was amazing Stevy!
Thank you Tom. Another lesson learned.
This is amazing bro

Hey, nice shots even with fighting the wind! Good flying bro 😎 👍🏼
Thank you! I appreciate you watching and leaving a comment.

Not sure how I missed this video, but great video bro. The camera quality looks so much better compared to the shots you’ve captured with the avata 1.
Also, yeah- windy days there isn’t a cinewhoop that will find success.
The camera quality was better but not having ND filters drove me crazy. The shutter speed was going way too high. I really wanted the motion blur. Things were way too sharp for me.

You did awesome Stevy. Wind or no Wind. But you keeping it real was a touch above the Rest 💪🏾 💪🏾
Thanks bro. A lot of shots didn’t make the cut due to the wind. The cars and the Avata 2 was drifting…lol 😆

You got some awesome shots! And good honest reaction afterwards 👍👍

Definitely got some good shots cant notice the wind at all season opener was for sure a banger. Did you fly both days or just saturday?
Thanks 🙏. I was only there Saturday.
Been waiting for this....brb watchin now
The struggle was real but I worked with what I captured. Just a heads up.
Awesome video pal 👍🏽

@@DroneBum Yeah, exactly. There is definitely more wonkiness in the goggles. I wasn’t sure at the time if I had enough good clips to make a video.
you are mad skilled bro' wish i could fly like that...
crazy that you didn't collide with the other drone??
Thank you, i’m glad you enjoyed it.
