    When you design with accessibility in mind, the benefits extend far beyond solely people with disabilities. Join us for an inspirational discussion and hands-on session where we’ll explore how designing for specific users transforms the way we approach a problem. You’ll learn how incorporating accessibility principles can lead to more intuitive, user-friendly and innovative designs that benefit everyone, regardless of their abilities. Creators of all experience levels are welcome to participate in this inspirational and exciting event!
    Agenda:
    6:00 - 6:30 pm: Doors, Refreshments & Networking
    6:30 - 8:00 pm: Introduction to Accessibility & Design Thinking Activity

    About the Facilitators:
    Annie Hensley
    Director/UX Design at Openfield
    IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies
    As Director of UX Design at Openfield, Annie is responsible for ensuring the team continues to deliver superior client and user experiences that result in tangible business outcomes. That includes fostering collaboration and crossover between our design and research teams, mentorship and career guidance, stewardship of Openfield’s culture and values, as well as, contributing to strategic decisions that ensure the company continues to evolve to meet the changing needs of EdTech clients and users. As an IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC), she is committed to ensuring accessibility standards are met by the team. Annie is a lifelong runner, and an avid lover of parks of all sorts - theme parks, ballparks, and National Parks (even revisiting Parks and Recreation too many times to count).
    Alex Hiser
    UX Designer at Openfield
    IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies
    In her role at Openfield, Alex is dedicated to creating experiences that captivate users and clients. Alex graduated from Ohio University with a strong foundation in design principles, storytelling, and a deep appreciation for user-centered design. As an IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC), she is committed to making experiences accessible, inclusive and equitable for users of all abilities. Alex is a passionate adventurer, and loves learning about diverse cultures and languages from around the world. Additionally, she enjoys practicing tennis, pickleball and spending time outdoors.
