This book is an in-depth look at the making of Disney's Tarzan that will keep you glued to its pages. As someone who bought it from auction at an affordable price, it's one of my favourites. The book provides an incredible insight into the development of this amazing film and made me appreciate it even more.
One of the most remarkable features of this book is that it includes journal entries from various crew members, including Kevin Lima, Phil Collins, and the talented Glen Keane. This gives us a glimpse of what it was like to work on the film and the challenges they faced while developing it. The book covers everything from story development to characters, backgrounds, songs, and everything in between.
Moreover, the book features hundreds of pieces of artwork, ranging from rough sketches to model sheets, storyboards, production stills, and even some cute gag sketches. All these artworks give us a better understanding of the inspirations behind the artists' work.
In conclusion, the Tarzan Artbook is an excellent addition to any Disney fan's bookshelf. With its behind-the-scenes narration and detailed artworks, this book is a must-read for anyone interested in the art of animation or looking to gain a deeper understanding of the making of Disney's Tarzan.
It would be cool if this book features concept art from the river boat sequence.
yeah sadly it's not included, but there's still a treasure trove of fascinating concept art to explore. From character designs to breathtaking landscapes, every page offers a glimpse into the imagination and creativity that brought Tarzan to life on the big screen.
Tarzan could have featured more hoofed mammals apart from the Black Rhinoceros and the Hippos such as Bongo Antelopes, Giant Forest Hogs, Forest Buffalos and maybe Okapis.

@@fourgamercornerButo and Duro on the other hand mean Rhinoceros and Hippopotamus in the mangani ape language.(which explains why they were in the movie)
Horta means Boar in the mangani ape language while Gorgo means Buffalo.
In the Disney adaption, Horta could have been used to describe a Giant Forest Hog while Gorgo could have been used to describe an African Forest Buffalo.
