50/50 topsoil compost, lawn rake, level, and seed. I think the asphalt roller is a bit to heavy for grass
Over the last few years, periodically there has been a video where some sort of equipment/truck caused lawn damage. I am glad that there is some way to begin a better repair process. Nice it worked out you got oil changes done, and even some rain.
With the soil you don’t want it to be compact, really going to make the grass lose nutrients.
On the driver that did that, I would call the company he works for, and tell they ARE paying for the repairs to the yard.
That poor cone always catches hell... lol. That job turned out well. Excellent work.
I use the same roller on my lawn about every other spring. makes a huge difference in smoothing out the lawn. Aerate (pull plugs) in the fall too. Lawn looks amazing.
Wow that's is insane the amount of damage to the grass but that roller really did the trick looks amazing

I didn't expect anything close to the success you saw. The repair may need a slight over seed. The truck driver couldn't have been much more destructive if he tried.

Not gonna lie, I'm a huge fan of the right tool for the job! This video is a great example of that. Our time and labor has value. Could you imagine how hard this would have been to do it by hand and how long it would have taken. Just rent the equipment, and your body will thank you for it.
That wasn’t a truck driver. That was a steering wheel holder. Should be fired for that. Shawn you done an excellent job smoothing that out. Might have to do some touch up work and maybe a little bit of seeding maybe but that turned out pretty well. The soil worked in your favor too. lol. No mowing here. Way too dry and nothing is growing. Y’all be safe careful stay cool and keep up the great work. Bruce in Wv!!!

You still got a heck of a mess. The idea is to start on the outside of each rut and go lengthwise, workong your way towards the center. Then do the same from the other side. This closes the ruts up. That said, the majority of it could've been done with the mower with as soft as that ground was. We've done it many many times.
