Special forces were trained by Isreal and UK special forces. Reconnaissance and map were prepared by Uk and Indian army year ahead of operation. It was all well planned act. Bhindranwale never campaigned for Congress. It was the Congress which tried endorsing Bhindranwale just to put down the Akalis. Bhindranwale was never complicit with any political party till his death. He criticized the Akalis because though the Akalis were giving utmost support to the Dharam Yuddh Morcha, they used to enjoy dinners and parties with the Congress during off parliamentary hours.

Very true, that was a grave horror and loss, but it was as much a loss for Hindus, akal takht is no small place, it was established by Guru Gobind himself, it must have been protected at any cost, they could have used any other way to carry out this operation.
