This time in The Lallantop's weekly show 'Guest in the Newsroom', famous photographer Raghu Rai came. Raghu Rai is also considered the 'Father of Indian Photography'. Many pictures taken by Raghu Rai are used as a symbol all over the world, such as the photos after the Bhopal gas tragedy or the plane crash of Sanjay Gandhi. The photo of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale at the Golden Temple was also taken by Raghu Rai. Raghu Rai talked about his career and personal life in this interview. He shared many stories of his photography career. The story behind pictures of Dalai Lama, Mother Teresa, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, and Lal Bahadur Shastri was also discussed which are famous all over the world today. I am completely speechless to hear him and knowing him. He really carries some divine energy with him that he is not only a great photographer but also a great speaker. This was "The best episode of Guest in the Newsroom" for me till date. All the facts n incidents which Raghu Sir explained took me back to my growing up years. Right from 1971-1984. His storytelling method was so effective, I could feel those days as if I was present in those frames. My heart felt thanks to "The Lallantop" for bringing this episode. ❤️❤️❤️

Good to hear the story of one of my old time friend Raghu Rai. We met in Rohtak, some time in early 60s and spend several days to together singing and practicing songs made on film song tunes. I recall him as person carrying a small camera around his neck and always ready to sing, tell stories and click photos.He moved out from Model town Rohtak, apparently to Delhi and I left for higher studies and never heard about him till yesterday when I saw him in lallantop interview. His face was still recognisable although changed considerably due to ageing. When he showed a picture of small donkey in this interview I do recall another photo taken some where in Model town Rohtak where he took a photo of a donkey with an electric pole emerging from his head as if pole is growing on donkeys head. I hope he still has that photo.Good to hear his interesting stories and his ever smiling face, wishing him all the best and look forward to see him in person during my next visit to India.

Raghu Rai is the name our generation has grown and aged. His work has always been respected for obvious reasons. With all skill, perfection, sensitivity, sensuality and hard work at hand the launch pad is the most important thing which helps one grow professionally and spiritually as it provides opportunities to meet a spectrum of personalities which ultimately make you a beam. Excellent! Thanks for this wonderful interview. Having seen all those photos in India today in those days . Always wondered how they take such wonderful fotos. More so with non digital cameras whith which you are not sure how the photo will be when developed? Frontline magazine too had wonderful fotos but they were mostly of nature.
