For me personally - as a 55-years-old male German - AMK is the best German band right now. I love their German original songs, because of the perfect interplay between lyrics, melody, musical execution, and of course Henning May's soulful voice.
But I also love their English cover songs together with other talented young bands. Not only are AMK incredibly talented themselves, but they are also truly “musicians' musicians” with a palpable joy in making music and making music together with other musicians.
Although Henning's unique voice is - inevitably - the outstanding feature of these covers, it never overshadows or dominates the whole thing, but blends with the respective guest singer's voice and becomes an essential part of a well arranged, beautifully crafted whole - always unique, always beautiful, always enjoyable.
Yes, they absolutely feel like old school, "true" musicians, with little ambition for business but 100% love & dedication for the art. All 3 of them, plus the amazing tour band.

2015, alter Schwede, und damals war ich noch in D. Ich bin so froh, 2024 endlich etwas gutes aus der Heimat zu hoeren. Haette aber das Lied ein wenig abgeaendert, "Boy" change to "Girl", einfach nur weil Kerls singen. Aber, nur meine Praeferenz. Deine Arbeit ist aber auch nicht schlecht. Hab gerade deinen Kanal geklickt...

Parcels are very much funk, disco and generally groovy, with a focus on harmonising as well, they're great!

So normally the reactions are like “woaaaah his voice is killing me” but you actually gave background informations and you could explain this ear explosion you’re getting from them. Thank you ! Not forgetting about the exquisit video work that's immersing us into not just the music but an entire experience together with the well chosen setting and perfect weather condition giving it a damp grey overall background without light flirs disturbing the overall impression. The entire camera leading and cuts are just brilliant.

Oh, come on! You can’t tell me you remember the 1960s and 70s! 🤣 I do. Is that guy in black AMK? He’s great 👍 I think this would have been too “sugary” without him.
His name is Henning May. The band name AnnenMayKantereit is just the founding members' last names.
I do too! Born in 1960 and the music from the 69s, 70s & early 80s was so much more original than the canned pop/electronic/computerized music of today. Was so glad to find AMK! Henning reminds me of Jim Morrison/The Doors and also the band Iron Butterfly.
