Ok, if you knew THIS song, then how did you not know the Suzanne Vega song in a few notes? Sorry, teasing, but just curious. I get it, you were into clubs., Or was it age, or what am I missing? Btw, Kylie had just come out w Loco Motion '88, not into pop, travelling in Ireland during my gap year, all of 5 even & 85lbs w an overbite & poodle cut. A group of schoolboys insisted that I was her and begged for an autograph lol, but I didn't even know who she was! I was a fan of The Smiths and The Violent Femmes at the time.
I’m 72 years old and grew up with music from the late fifties, the sixties, seventies and mostly listening to that music now but like some music from a lot of different artists. This is the second song I’ve heard from these guys. Who the hell are they, where do they come from. I will buy their CDs. WOW
They are from Germany-Annenmaykantereit
They are German and most of their songs are German, but they are still great. Just wouldn’t recommend you their album „12“ because it’s … well the vibe is pretty dark. They made this album in 2020 with social distancing (recorded themselves mostly alone at home and put it all together in the end). And well the songs are about the anxiety and sorrows we all had in 2020 due to Covid.

The drummer does use a full set in concert and some videos. Henning May's voice is really special. The arrangements are so cool whether it's just the 3 of them, or a almost full orgastra.

They're amazing! I'm older, and went to concerts in 70's & 80's. Instruments, real voices,.real soul.
The drummer has a full setup and he always looks like he having a wonderful time when playing live

He uses his full drum set most of the times. I would recommend looking at any of the recent releases they have made with the "Probaum Session" they are playing with violins and trombones and sax and trumpet and cello as well as their regular guitar bass guitar set up. I love their Probaum Session "Ausgehen" and "Vielleicht Vielleicht"

I love the music of annenmaykantereit. I think Its nice that Henning took a step back in this song as Not to drown out the other singer. I like it.
Since i didnt see anyone recommend it yet; I think "Du hast den Farbfilm vergessen" is their best Cover. Increible vibe even though its a German Song. Would Love to See you reacting to it

AnnenMayKatntereit is a german band (that started as a school project if I am not mistaken) based in cologne, germany and the Band name is simply their surnames put together.

When you do some to theire origins should translate the texts cause the meaning alqays correlates with the vibe. I love this kind of music, feels real. All playing instruments, probably due to theire start on playing downtown in cologne it gives you the feeling of old times when music was a lot different from now. Unique so to say
Thanks so much Petra! It funny how I found them and now they are a group that has become a part of my library on and off thr channel. My son said hey dad I heard this song on TikTok you should do this one. Well his birthday was about a month away so I did the video for his birthday. It was out for a week then got blocked there was no way to unblock it. A month later it was unblocked and blew up and here we are. So glad it got unblocked.

AnnenMayKanterit are really fun to listen to.
I was watching and listening to videos by The Animals after the mention of House of the Rising Sun mention. There are so many songs by them that he could do, and I think it would sound amazing. He can add such an amazing sound to some other artists like Jim Morrisons music.

The groups are different but they play together, they complement each other, that's why they sound like this, each one with its own style, but they work together.

@@bobcieslinski I follow the page of the group AnnenMayKantereit, they are 3, they were formed in 2011 and I saw many of their videos, and I don't know if his voice evolved or he can do various tones, with and without the raspy voice.

You remind me of my Band teacher. He was such a huge factor in my musical life. I appreciate your videos and how in sync we are on the reactions you give. You've actually lit a fire under this old gal to pick up her instruments (sax, flute, clarinet) and try to locate a place to gather with like-minded musicians. I got a 3/4 Fender Acoustic a few years back and wanted to learn how to play, but ended up having hand surgery on both hands for CTS and that kind of put that off. But, thinking I might hit up the local Community College for beginner acoustic lessons and see what happens. Thank you for your insight and just keep living! You rock! 🫶

I'm actually going to get professional vocal training after this and finally find some help in reading music. I've played by ear my whole life and I'm 47, guitar and piano, gimme a year. Thanks for the inspiration guys
