Chat/Comment Guidelines:
1: Respect each other, do not intentionally cause arguments and diffuse the situation immediately.
2: Please no backseat gaming. If I need help, I will ask the chat for help. A lot of the fun for myself and the viewers is coming up with the strategies on my own and solving problems in my own unique way.
3: Listen to the creator. If I say stop, I mean stop, and move the discussion on.
4: Please don't reference other creators' in-jokes and running gags in the comments. Just as much as I wouldn't like another creator using my lore, I would find it disrespectful to use other creators' lore.
5: Moderators' and streamer's decisions are final.
The Rules:
1: The timer starts when walking away from Professor Oak after receiving the starter Pokémon.
2: Only the Challenge Pokémon may participate in battle.
3: No items in battle, except Balls from the bag.
4: No evasion-increasing TMs.
5: No intentional uses of glitches or exploits, except the Badge Boost Glitch.
6: No Rare Candies until facing the Pokémon League.
7: Timer may be paused for breaks in recording, but no inputs may be made when the timer is paused.
8: Save states are permitted in the overworld, but no save states may be used mid-battle.
9: If the challenge Pokémon faints, the previous save state must be reloaded and progress regained.

Great content as always!
I expected the booming hiker in rock tunnel to be an issue though 😅
I'm loving your Yellow backports Squidgy! Its given me motivation to start working on my own again. Which, you've seen come with all sorts of jank LOL
I'm still loving these challenge runs. There are 12 rare candy in this game. Mt. Moon, S.S. Anne, Power Plant, Pokémon Tower, Rocket Hideout zip pads area, Silph 10th floor near Earthquake TM, Warden's House in Fuchsia, one in the Pokémon Mansion basement, and Victory Road (leftmost with the two choices) are in balls. Cerulean City is hidden in the back area behind the two houses 5 plants from the right on the brick area, Cycling Road there's one 4 right and look up starting on top of the biker close to the grassy area, and the second in the Pokémon Mansion basement is in the top left corner in the square room with 8 plants. i hope that helps if you need a few extra ones.
Thank you for the list! This has gone straight into my spreadsheet for routing Gen 1!
That was expected. Blaine and Giovanni are very very hard to deal with in Yellow. They‘re supposed to be the hardest gym leaders in this game. Besides, Yellow doesn’t like electric or fire types. The moves that can be learned are so limited, indeed. You played well, Squidgy. Mimic is the only thing really in this game that can help electric types. Nice Challenge! Thank you, have a great sunday!!!
Mimicking swift on that last Magneton was a solid play
Sean the sheep? Wallace and gromit reference?
@@MazterP28 Shaun and yes, it was a close shave. Arguably known more his own spin-off now
@ I live Wallace and gromit.
It was, by a degree of separation - my initial Ampharos was called Shaun, and I decided to change the spelling for this one :)
Great run buddy per usual…..wish you a speedy recovery😊
Defeating Erika doesn’t allow you to fly, Surge allows you to fly no?
Honestly, the rock types would've been easier if you used Seismic Toss
You can get it before Misty if you choose to battle a specific trainer on the way to Bill's house, or after Lt. Surge if you're willing to wait for the Cut hm ao you'll be able to skip the trainer
I love Ampharos! It’s my favorite childhood Pokemon. The design is so playful and happy to me.
I wonder why you didn't just pick up the leftovers before facing Giovanni. I'm sure that would've helped. Definitely.
Nice to see you playing my favorite Pokémon! 💙
Gen 1 does not have held items, otherwise he probably would have. That mechanic wasn't introduced till Johto.
@@TheForeignGamer I know. Was a joke for the algorithm!
@@SnowyTotodile Apologies, I didn't catch it the first time from your comment's tone. Carry on, friend!
@ Aaaa! Nah it's my bad. It's very hard to communicate tone in text!
My favorite (and signature) Electric Type. Big Sheepy is the best :)
A slow electric type with a shallow movepool. I absolutely love Ampharos, but i dont think it will do amazing
Just curious did you grab the Seismic Toss TM on Route 25 behind the Camper near the last Hiker before Bill's house as a solution for the Ground types that also have the Rock typing or did you already have a solution for the Rock typing in general?
Hey!
Seismic Toss didn't even cross my radar! I'm so used to discounting it because it's never a factor in Gen 2 runs! Definitely a TM to pick up on the redo though!
@@Squidgy it's not relevant in this run but in gen 1 fixed damage moves ignore type immunity so you can use seismic toss on ghosts or night shade on normal types for example
👍👍👍👍
Electric types in yellow are never fun to solo run. Brock, Giovanni (especially Giovanni 3), and sometimes the self destructing hiker are brick walls.
At least you'll be able to mimic double team from persian without breaking rule 4 😅
Nice pointing, Kanbei!!
