I fell in love with her immediately when I heard her rich soulful voice on the Ken Burns Country Music documentary’s featuring “Wagon Wheel”!! I mean in a matter of seconds I was in love with singing, tone and phrasing, so much I searched for her music right away. I would love to hear her in person #ChicagoChiTown.
She was featured in a fav playlist. Taj Mahal list I think? When I heard black myself, I couldn't get to the pc quickly enough. Awesome. Come to Dayton Oh...please!
Amythyst is wonderful. She performed solo during the day last year (2018) at the Caramoor American Roots festival and she will be a headliner this year at the night performance. Can't wait to see her again. Don't forget to check out her collaboration with Rhiannon Giddons, Leyla McCalla, and Allison Russell - Songs of our Native Daughters
I own Songs of Our Native Daughters! I highly recommend it. Be warned though -- it's NOT A CASUAL LISTEN. It's deep. It's heartbreaking. It's heavy. It's worth a serious, thoughtful listen.
Nice cover of the Dolly Parton Classic!!....if you get a chance to see Amythyst...don't miss her.!!...Excellent stage presence!!..Great singer and songwriter. She was just in Charleston,SC
I love this arrangement, but the audio in this video is not great. I think it's just the camera mics. I wonder if they made a recording using the instrument pickups and her microphone. Amythyst is the best.
6 years ago as a "home recording" the only mic used was the condenser microphone in front of Amythyst. Her career has moved forward considerably since then, this was an early attempt to provide context at the career level at the time. Hope you see her live soon. I just seen the show with Cam country in Dallas.
Amythyst sounds incredible, the band is kinda detracting from her performance though. Does the guitarist know there are voicings other than bar chords?
Our local pub in Sweden hired her and everybody got to watch her play for free, she was so damn great!
Amythyst Kiah blows me away with every song she does. Great vocals, great arrangement! Love!
Wonderful, what an incredible voice! Just found her and scratching the surface on recordings and videos, absolutely amazing!
Just discovered Amythyst Kiah at Brandi's Gorge concert and my world was rocked. I haven't stopped listening since!

Terrific arrangement of this song!
How does this not have millions of views? This is incredible
I was wondering that myself. However, I just now bumbled across this wonderful singer entirely by accident. She needs more publicity!

This is the struggles of Indie Artist. You usually have the big machine to push the views and billboard numbers. She is Top Rank!
Best cover to this date. Love this song!!

Please come to the Cats Cradle in Carrboro NC!!
I love it friend. I remember the white stripes covering it too. 💪great take!
Love your version of Jolene.
Refreshing and awesome!!
Good stuff! tasteful bluesy guitar and keyboard trading solos, and strong vocals make this a very nice cover.
I first heard them at the blue plum festival a year or so ago and they sang this.
Ja'Crispy she was at the blue plum festival? God dammit I live like 15 minutes away and I didn’t even know she came lol
@@user-kh9ki3kq8m yeah, she was at blue plum in 2016. I think that was the year they did that crap where you had to buy tickets to get in though.
She opened for Yola in San Diego and I was instantly obsessed!
Gorgeous!
Wow! Love this!!
love this!
Oh, please record this and release it!
What a brilliant version! So authentic & cooking with gas!!!
This is beautiful! Mrs. Kiah should come back to Raleigh with the whole gang.
wow ! a wonderful version :-)
also great art works on the walls
Hot dang.

@@Randy_Gentry Thanks. She played at Ohana Fest last year, during a bit of a covid surge, so I didn't make the trip. Some day.
No disrespect Dolly. I liked this version supremely.
You should hear it live with electric guitar. Even better. She killed it at Rhythm and Roots

the way he's constantly checking something on the floor too it's fucking distracting, like learn the material dawg
Who?
