First time Ive heard ,or even heard of Amythyst. Its exceptionally rare that I come across someone whom I know I'll be listening to for the rest of my life. This is one of those occasions. My afternoon is now fully booked.I'll be listening to everything i can find by her.Amythyst, you are incredible.
maybe you found the lyrics by now.. but if not Body in water for days and days, hope for a safe return, my hope's in vain. when your soul die-ie-ies, you just can't hide it. everyone can te-eh-eh-eh-ll that last line is correct. This song is about the suicide of her mother.
Saw she was on Kimmel tonight, was curious who it was that had the name of my birthstone. What a delight to hear. Why does she remind me of Tracy Chapman? I hope it isn't cause I'm a racist pig. Here she comes, my Amazon music list!
I saw Tracy twice (1989 and 1990) and Amythyst a few weeks ago. I see many similarities, too. That deep (contralto?) voice, personal songs, and guitar picking. The stage presence was similar. Lots of playing, not much talking. Also a very humble and appreciative smile. Super professional. When I first learned about Amythyst it got me wondering what ever happened to Tracy. She performed on TV in 2020 before the election but isn't in the spotlight much at all.
Holy crap! I found Amythyst's cover of 'Hitchin a Ride' and came here from this. She has an amazing voice, I wish i could sing and play like that.
AK is the whole package, a great musician, with an amazing voice. I'm spellbound.
