All Porsche gauges from this area (993 and earlier) are held in by a round rubber grommet around the bezel. You simply twist it out with your hands (or a prying tool that does not scratch or damage the bezel such as body trim panel tools) and it should slide out. I find a smaller gauge is easer to get out and then you can push the odometer out from the backside through this newly created access hole.
