Developing these games requires a significant investment of both time and money. Without proper funding, it's simply not feasible to achieve everything. There seems to be an expectation from some quarters for either free development or a mere iteration of an existing game, like an VIC3 built upon the framework of VIC2. But the later would not give us that new core as a foundation for the next generation game to be developed over the next 10 years.
Victoria 3 now boasts a robust and enjoyable core foundation. This is something that you can't get integrated into the core the same way, by adding small systems later as a DLC. Now a lot of flavor can be added to a solid foundation. With a solid foundation in place, there's ample opportunity to enrich the experience with diverse content and flavor. If this means introducing an optional subscription model, priced at 50 EUR per year, I wholeheartedly support it, considering the countless hours of enjoyment these remarkable games provide.

I’m glad they changed the way state owned companies work. Giving all the money to bureaucrats rather than the government itself was very dumb

Yes, until you privatize them.
Hopefully. This is something that has been bothering me. I paid the worker's wages, I paid for the construction materials, then.. the building is owned by capitalists???
When the building is finished the ownership changes depending on economic laws. For example on laissez-faire it will be automatically privatized but on command economy it will be state owned

They said in a dev Blog comment section that if you conquer a province, all state owned industries in that province are switching over to your control.

I'm glad we're getting this "dividend efficiency" as a way to balance earlygame government-owned buildings instead of the bureacracy cost and decreased EoS announced in Dev Diary 110, the old way sounds like it would've been annoying bc we would've had at add extra goverment buildings to the construction loop to cover bureacracy costs before we could get our buildings sold and also just make us have to build more of them in general to combat the decreased EoS, whereas this method seems to keep government ownership from being broken in the earlygame without slowing down the construction loop.
Interesting to see how good Command Economy will be, it seems like it could potentially be meta for lategame and I think it even makes sense for it to be so particularly as it's the last economy law you unlock.
I have to disagree. It feels like one of those "imposible to balance" modifiers. If it's 100%, it's crazy OP meta and you always want to go for it as it's free money (like gold's minting modifier). So either way it should be at 100% or it's just bad. Why have it at all then?

@@lazykatie42069 if so, could be an interesting strategy for command economy country to have as many foreign investment pacts as possible, have gigantic government construction queue, and just extract wealth of the world directly into your budget. Then inject that money back into your economy via bureaucrats and wage subsidies laws. Added bonus: super powerful Intelligencia IG
Is dividedend efficency creating money out of thin air like eu4 tarrifs or it taxes more
@@Khanate1923 it destroys money. If you have 50% divident efficency, half of the dividents go to your treasury and another half disappears into thin air.
Man, I love the Victoria franchise, but I love it most for it's economic and political focus.
I hope to see more improvements on the game, this looks good!

I hope in the future that we'll also get an update that will enable stockpiles and allow us to hoard our production. So that we may use said stockpiles in times of need (like war where demands usually peak, and trade agreements get cancelled or ports blockaded)
Stockpiles make sense to me and idk why don't have it.
The bones are there for something awesome. Either it will rock hard at launch or it'll take a week and then the modders get it to rock hard. Either way, it's a win!

Question - if I build a new building, who owns it by default?
Because when I saw that you could sell a building for 150k per level it made me wonder why building a nationalised level, and then selling it immediately, wouldn't be the most broken way to farm money.
So worker owned replaced cooperative ownership as "choose this option if your endgame is maxing out SoL"?
i mean, probably you guys dont check comments but if its false,
please add execution of historical events, including formation of germany,japan & mexico & ww1, playing as some minor country and seeing no germany united, or tokugawa in 1900s is really bothering as theres no challenge, same for the qing, when you play as qing theres no japanese empire rising to threaten and cause an challenge.

Waow putting mechanics in a dlc that the base game vic2 had like 16 years earlier is one hell of a thing to be proud of
You mean the sphere of influence system in vic2 where spheres would just magically double produce every resource and money would just disappear into thin air. 99% of the vic2 players or manuals don't even understand how the system worked. Nobody actually. It was garbage. I still loved vic2 though I played it so much.

@@mememachine6022Foreign investments are garbage in Victoria 2, it is literally building factories and monorails like a fool and watching how the AI of that nation lets your factory go bankrupt and if it goes well you do not make any profits from your factory.
I was wondering how foreign investment and the profits/worker comp would work for cooperatives?
When I build a building in a foreign market, are the input and output goods staying in the foreign market or sourced/produced into mine?

If you foreign invest buildings outside your country do you get their resource output?
No. Only the cash. But you can trade for it. If the country is in your market/a subject then you do get the resources.

Will you be able to selectively nationalize from certain owners? For example, taking the privately owned levels while leaving the workforce ones? Can you sell building levels to the workforce? Can you privatize government owned foreign investments?

What happens to the resources that are produced by a building? If I have a state owned textile factory in another country - which market gains the clothes?
Their market gains the clothes and you keep the profits. However, you can either make them join your market or just trade for the clothes.

If you break your foreign investment agreement with a country, do the foreign-owned buildings in your country dissappear, do they become nationalised or do they become privately owned?
You can't nationalize buildings of countries who have foreign investments rights. However, if you or they remove the foreign investments rights, their building still operate as normal, but you can now nationalize them if you want.

Bruh I need low laymen’s on that investment pool crap cause I was like 80 mil in debt had a huge pool and for some reason it started emptying into my bank and then I was debt free with like 30 mil cash reserves why did the investment pool get me out of debt ?

играя за Мадагаскар ии забивает своими стройками всю инфраструктуру и я просто не успеваю построить страну мечты так как денег у частников больше чем у меня получается игра сама в себя играет а я просто наблюдатель не так я себе представлял игру в которой население очень важно именно эта идея меня подкупила но на выходе невозможность распоряжаться деньгами инвесторов от лица руководителя страны (меня)делает из игры визуальную новеллу нажал максимальную скорость и компьютер сам всю эпоху проживет. Я сам хочу строить те производства которые вижу как перспективу будущего так например ии застроил все красителями а кушать в стране нечего и инфраструктура не позволяет мне строить. Ну это бред парни я буду играть на версии где была возможность планировать не торопясь самому рост и качество нации я не хочу воевать для этого есть HOI4 дайте мне вдумчивый медитативный экономический геймплей я хочу быть гигантом плантаций а не того что соизволит построить ии.Тем не менее спасибо вам за прекрасные игры рад жить с вами в одну эпоху у вас явно образование 90%))
