My son passed on my birthday and it has been raining the last 3 days I've never felt so empty in my entire life. Please I also the anyone who reads this pray for my boy in heaven.
Well, I lost my father in 2021 and one day I couldn’t sleep and I went to the kitchen and put some old daddy’s whisky to drink wishing that could help me to sleep… I went to the living room and put this song to play on the sound and sit on the balcony. A few minutes later started to rain and this music was playing while I was drinking a whisky. It was amazing and washed my soul. Thank you guys! Love from Brazil. Edit: I never expected to receive so many support, likes and comments. Thank you everybody for the kindness and support!
I’m a 25 year old white boy living in a loft overlooking downtown Jackson Mississippi. The Capitol of Soul. Having a family business in the area since 1937 I’ve grown up with a different culture that many of my friends will never know. My fathers been fighting cancer for 3 years and tonight we got the news it came back and he’s not going to be here much longer. I got my drank and my smoke and I’m sitting here by my window singing my blues away. The music lives through us all ❤️ May God bless those going through a struggle with the vibe of this song. 🎼 let them blues float away baby!
As a fellow young man I raise my glass tonight to your father and my grandfather may they share one there while we share we one here my brother. God bless and godspeed
It's 11 o'clock in the evening, my children are asleep, I prefer whiskey to cigars and I'm enjoying this moment in a country as difficult as Haiti, thank you Don.
I’m a 22 year old Russian guy, I have never been in USA but, i literally can feel that Smokey downtown bar with slightly dimmed light. It’s like I have a broken heart, sitting alone, sipping whisky, thinking about her. Majestic and at the same time quite sad. Thanks for that incredible music Don

I turned on youtube at Don's tunes, this song and many others... we had fun, wine, laughed and connected instantaneously. She passed away 9th December 2022 at 38 years old. We had the best 3 years of our life's together. We were soul mates. Now I play this channel and pray to meet her again soon.
My dad showed me this masterpiece a few years ago. (I’m 19). I’ve come back to listen to it ever since. Every time I listen to it it’s like the first time again. Not only the lyrics speak to me but the guitar speaks to me on another level. A MASTERPIECE I will never forget.
I listen to this a few weeks ago for the first time, when a human played it after midnight below the trees… tonight I heard this song again and I realized that have to know the singer🙏
So many genres of the Blues. Chicago, Texas, Delta, etc. Try some Stevie Ray Vaughan. BB King. Howlin' Wolf. So many that I'd suggest listening to them all. Enjoy your trip through life my young friend! ☮️
Im 16 right now and honestly theres a certain thing about the blues that just...touches the soul way more than any belting or elaborate guitar solos could. I can see why the Blues are undying.
23 years old from Athens. Nearly finished university and preparing for yearly compulsory military service. Listening to this music relaxes me from thinking about that uncertain future we all have. Good luck to everyone out there with your lives. Keep listening to this song no matter what.
When the blue mood takes place in your soul, when you miss your loved-one so much that your heart cannot stop bleeding, when everything you touch turns into dust, blues is the only kind of music you can listen to. Thank you Gary Coleman
Avoid smoking. Do not kill the body that Allah Almighty has given you by poisoning. This body is entrusted to us by Almighty Allah. "... don't kill yourself!" (Holy Quran, 4/29)
Just put my 14 year old daughter to this song, she already listens to older artists like Elvis, Johnny Cash etc...i'm not the most successful man work wise ..but man I must say I'm killing it with this dad thing in the educational music department lol . Much love to anyone who took the time to read this comment while listening to this amazing song. 🥂
Yes dear. I was feeling inadequate and had low self esteem because of recent events in my life. But listening to this song reminds me of how sweet life is.
Sweet Jesus what's just happened?? How's this my first time listening to this March 2020? I'm gunna be listening to this till my ears start to bleed...pure magic.
18 years old girl, never listened to blues until today. I was lost, going through an unrequited love, angry at myself and life in general, ... but this song has cleaned my mind and now I know what I need to do and who I want to be.
If you're listening to this tune, chances are, your heart is feeling the blues. Know this: you're not alone, many people have felt as you do. From today, to as long as humans have existed, as long there's compassion, there also will be heartache.
I think blues resonates with persons who carry pain. Blues will likely resonate with many at one time or another. But for some it’s the salve that soothes the wound and unites us all. So I’m that true person. So f*cling there!

This is the first time I listen to this song and, boy, I've never listened to an amazing blues like this. I had to feel very depressed to find out a song like this, but now I feel very good while the song is slowly ending. WONDERFUL!!!
One of the worst and most profound truths of this world: Great struggle produces great art. All hail, the Bluesmen and Blueswomen of yesteryear, for their amazing talents and extraordinary struggles.
I'm from brazil, i'm living in a poor city in a farm, lying on my bed with my dad listen this great song, he don't speak english but like to heard this. It's a such great peace in my hearth, i wish that this moment never finish.
Yesterday I heard a guy sing this song at the train stop. He was just singing in the rain, for himself. I remembered the lyrics and found it today. Bloody awesome. So great that it can even make you smile.
I'm just a 25 year old german dude, living in the mountains of the Black forest. It's raining outside and I'm sitting by the window drinking a beer and smoking a cigarette. I normally only listen to Hip Hop, but this song really speaks to me. Good music just transcends. Peace 😊❤
I remember finding different, newer, but old music at your age. You are an old soul and on to something in being unique and open minded. Bless you and Rock on. From one old soul to another, believe me when I say always believe in yourself!
Gotta love the comment sections on these kinds of videos with good music. Everyone's so positive and nice to each other you'd think you're not on the internet.
I’m 68 from Australia sitting outside taking in the views of the distant mountains. It’s over cast and drizzling rain. Just had a number and letting the music take me away 🤩👍
Im 21 years old, my dad took me to a BB King concert when i was a very little girl . My dad passed away 2 years ago with years of being ill, he was sick since i was 7, im thankful to have these songs to confort me. Knowing how much my dad loved BB King , it makes me happy to honor him by enjoying his music also
So sorry for your loss! my dad is my best friend he’s showed me so much great music he was a huge grateful dead fan but he literally listens to everything especially blues and this just made me realize even more to cherish everyday with him 29 yrs old at the moment
You just unwittingly described the very essence of the Blues. The instruments are voices in and of themselves and the voices are instruments in and of themselves.
Never heard this before a week ago. I don't know how I've missed it. Will never forget now. I'm slumped beside the fire on a cold winter night, drinking a good whiskey and gently swaying to the rhythm. . My 22 year old daughter is lying beside me, soaking in the purity and soul of this music. She has already added it to her ipod. I feel good inside that I, her mother, started her love of jazz and r&b many years ago and whenever she hears this song many years from now, I hope she remembers sharing a perfect winter night with her 55 year old Mum, discussing music, life and all things beautiful. Life has beautiful moments.
i'm 51 & have a son of 30 i adore but sadly never see anymore. my grandbabies too. so glad you're so aware of how special such moments are, god treasure them bc you never know when your world might be turned upside down. i agree with what you say re music & what a treasure it is,
urbanangel13 I'm so sorry to hear you guys are estranged. I've always prayed that it never happens to us. We are pretty tight but our two girls live in different cities to us now and it hurts big time. But we take the time to visit and talk, and so do they, and I listen to a lot of their music (and hate some of it) but listen anyway because they love it 😂🎶. If you can, whatever caused the rift, try to heal it if you can. Try to visit. God Bless. Jazz?? It's an acquired taste. And I hate scat. There is no rhythm I can find! I mostly like the jazz with less "embellishment?" And I have to be in the mood. Love you and wish you all the best, from Steph in Down Under (Australia). I didn't say where I was from and some of you may have wondered why it was a cold Winter Night. 🤔
I played this song in my car while my son (7yrs old), was in the back seat...he was really quiet, listening, appreciating and loving this song. Every time it rains...I hear my son singing "the sky is crying"❤
I have never heard of Gary, but he is fantastic. I love this song. It is a blues classic. A man, who can play guitar like this is a genius. And, he can sing, too.
Lonely wolf, I am you in a time that you are me. Life has hope, and we have the strength to cope, Enough to survive and know the untold, but don't let fear unfold and take hold. Keep strong and succeed, we have more than just a need, let's take heed. Peace and love to you!
The real treasure in being open-minded with music, is not the waiting of an artist to release a new song, but the continuous stumbling-upon of songs of old!
True. I thank UA-cam for this. Chet Baker, Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, Cannonball Adderly, Eric Clapton, John Mayer, Carly Simon, Steely Dan, Mark Knopfler, and BB King have all shown up in my feed. All for $10/month. Unbelievable.
Don't know if someone is reading this, but if you are: it doesn't matter where you are right now on this planet, I wish you a wonderful day and a happy, peaceful life where all your dreams come true. You are amazing and beautiful! I believe in you^^
I’m 22 years old and I love this music! When I close my eyes and listen to this.. I just see differently. Really feel this kind of music with your heart, mind, and soul.

I sit here on this street corner with a good friend, drinking beer, smoking a rollie, and feeling both horribly alone and perfectly content. Cheers, friends. Here's to another day.
22. Just had a child, working real hard for her. Get home & play music like this till I fall asleep. Id pick this type of music over todays music every & any day.
The sky is crying Can't you see the tears roll down the street The sky is crying Can you see the tears roll down the street I've been looking for my baby And I've been wondering where can she be I saw my baby early one morning She was walking on down the street I saw my baby early one morning She was walking on down the street You know it hurt me, hurt me so bad It made my poor heart skip a beat I got a bad feeling That my baby she don't love me no more I got a bad feeling That my baby she don't love me no more You know the sky's been crying Can't you see the tears roll down my door

Today, 16th of march my grandfather died before six years. He was man of honour. Everybody from my family respected him, especially me , because I’m named with his name. I’m the legacy and I am proud of it. He used to listen songs like this... I remember when I was a little kid , he loved to drink a glass of wine, listening blues and rock ‘n’ roll , because I was always there, trying to bring him mood and memories, back in those past years... Greetings to all grandparents around the world. Your music is not dead 🙂😉
Bozhidar Zlatinov you’re right it isn’t dead. In order to keep it alive, we have to introduce the new generation to this type of music. I have a three year old that loves the blues, rock “n” roll, and the Motown era.
Sheena Levy Be blessed! And yes, we have to keep the value of this music deep inside of our souls and when there’s somebody to share it with it and mostly, to understand and feel it I’ll come back alive again! Generation to generation :))
Sorry for your loss, sir. YOU are a man of honor for your family to respect and be proud of your legacy. Only one grandchild here, but hoping for more in the coming years. Enjoy the memories you have and cherish them always. Your family will be proud of you.
Blues have been an integral part of music since the beginning. The variety of blues changes and compliments each music genre...from sad to joyful..it's all about life.
@@chopholtz4950 nowadays I wouldn’t call it racism nowadays, it’s more like prejudice People tends to stick with something that they like and not trying something different or news which they don’t experience the wonderful things others get to enjoy

My dad showed me this masterpiece a few years ago. (I’m 19). I’ve come back to listen to it ever since. Every time I listen to it it’s like the first time again. Not only the lyrics speak to me but the guitar speaks to me on another level. A MASTERPIECE I will never forget.

If you're listening to this tune, chances are, your heart is feeling the blues. Know this: you're not alone, many people have felt as you do. From today, to as long as humans have existed, as long there's compassion, there also will be heartache.

Its incredible how the instruments after the vocals end fill in that space for the last minutes of the song so well. Almost like a voice itself
