For those of you (like me) who are addicted to Ash’s videos to learn every single thing you can about national parks, she and her husband John also have a podcast! This is probably old news for most of you, but I recently stumbled upon it (I’m 54, so probably not as with it with podcasts, et al.), but getting even more info there! Just listened to the most recent episode re changes in 2024, and loving it! Continued thanks, Ash….you (and your itineraries) really are the best!!
Thanks for this great video. I think your videos on National Parks are the most insightful and practical. I visited Bryce Canyon for the first time a few month and I loved it. I actually made the mistake of driving from Zion, but I was able to do a few hike from noon to evening. The light change throughout the day was incredible. Although very small, this is one of the most beautiful parks, and I can't wait to go back.
Planning a road trip in june to the Grand canyon - bryce - saltlake - teton - Yellowstone - glacier then back home to wa state you guides were super helpful. Also were the rockies channel as well
Watching this, I'm suddenly craving a Thunderbird Ho-Made pie and some Ruby's Inn breakfast buffet plate of bacon. Bryce Canyon was definitely the highlight of our trip through Utah last Spring. (though Zion was pretty awesome too)
I love your enthusiasm for our parks and the information that you give. This has been on my bucket list for years and finally I have reservations at North Campground this year. I'm elderly and travel solo, with mobility issues so the hiking is not feasible for me. I have to see what I can from simple to get to viewpoints. What would be the best/easiest photo spot for someone like me? I have two and a half days there. I do miss hiking like I did as a younger person but nature takes its toll. Your videos are informative and entertaining. Thanks for all the info. Happy New Year!
There are various parking spots close to the common viewing points, but best accessible spots, IMO, would likely be Sunrise point and Sunset point. Bryce Point arguably gives the best overall view of the entire amphitheater but it may give you the most potenial problems if you have mobility issues. It's the furthest from the parking area (but still not that far...maybe 50-70 yards?) and sloped; so depending on your mobility issues, this may be no big deal or may provide a challenge; especailly in winter, if there's snow and ice, that one viewing point can get slippery. Speaking of which, there's a trail so you can park at one of these spots and hike along most of the rim. Just know that a lot of it is sloped, so you'll likley be going uphill one way, unless you can hop on a shuttle to go the uphill direction. If you run out of things to do, check out nearby Red Canyon, mostly along the freeway with shorter hikes (a mix of easy and sloped trails)

Planning a trip with my wife at the end of February to camp and check out Bryce Canyon. If you have any advice on camping up there in the snow, that would be great! Maybe some other cool sites we can drive around and see.
Bryce Canyon is at 9,000 feet above sea level, so it gets frigid. You'll want to make sure you have tons of warm gear for camping. Rent or buy yaktrax for hiking into the amphitheater!
Forbidden question here from a newbie haha. I have a new 24’ foot camper and am wondering if they will allow me in a spot in Kodachrome’s Bryce View camping spot. They say 20’ limit but the pad is a pull through 35’ pad that seems like a fine fit. Should I risk it or will they say no when I arrive in early June?
We have travel trailer that's about that size, and I personally wouldn't count on being able to get into those sites. Even if the pad is longer, it's likely that the angles are too tight to maneuver something bigger very easily. You could always risk it, but depending on the site, you might not be able to get in there without scraping on something :)
