I can Honestly say after playing these games and the release of the new update and Levels. The Crash Trilogy is one of my favorite games of all Time. Thanks for covering this Jak you never Disappoint.
It is good to see Jak and the majority of the Crash community happy with the trilogy and future of Crash. I just hope the same love, care, and critical success can come to Spyro now.
I love this trilogy. I 100% them when they released last year, and never deleted N sane off the hard drive for my kids to play. We played future tense the other night passing the controller back n forth, like me and my older used to do. I still have the originals too, but do feel this trilogy does great justice and rather the kids see crash how I used to imagine it was lol.
I definitely agree with you on the way crash looks on switch , it was defiantly pretty jarring to see that fur texture , but in a way it's a pretty interesting look to it .

I just hope we also get a similar situation with Spyro, If not a NEW one then perhaps a Remake/FINISH of Spyro Year of the Dragonfly? I never played it but I can see how much it could benefit from being remade (maybe even add new stuff since it only had like 4 levels or something originally due to time restraints etc. etc.)
Love that they improve on the tiny details we had problems on when the game was originally released , it just goes to show how both activision and vicarious visions were dedicated to their craft , showing how they were willing to listen to our problems we had and improve on them 😁👌

I think a video like this is a good thing because a revisiting a game like a remaster game or any new game coming back to it mainly because updates are a thing so problems you had are probably gone so it is awesome to see

I was blown away by Future Tense. I never knew you could pull off so much with that original formula we grew up with. I'm pretty sure that if we haven't seen more levels, it's because VV is already working on a new game. I hope it's an original game more than anything, but would tolerate a CTR remastered (and only that), just for possible online multiplayer. As for you, Jak. I don't use my account very often, so I don't think you'll recognize me, but I've seen your videos for several years now and it's great seeing your channel grow over time, specially with the quality content you've put out lately. I loved what you did with the Sly and the Croc series. Cheers on those 18k subs and keep up the good work.

As someone who has got the Platinum Relic in Stormy Ascent, I can (and I'm sure others can also) vouch for how torturous doing such a thing was. In fact I only a few days ago got the Platinum in Future Tense and honestly I thought it was a lot easier to get in that level.
That Spyro trailer can also be viewed by entering the demo code from Crash 3. I only wish it had been a playable demo instead of just a trailer. Hmm.. maybe they'll update that in later.
I was counting down the days until this got released on PC and now I finally have it. Having played through and completed the original game as a kid 100% I was looking forward to steping up and replicating my childhood success. Gotta say I found it every bit enjoyable (and frustrating) getting through it and it really made me appreciate again how good these games actually were for the time. Having said that I felt Crash moved a little differently from the original which made everything way harder at first whilst I was still adjusting. Also Stormy Ascent was about as enjoyable as pulling teeth, I can see why it was removed first time round.

I only played the Switch version of the N. Sane Trilogy, and your video has shown me something. In the Switch Future Tense, there are no mirrors. They're just dark, non-reflective walls. I just sorta winged the part where you had to watch the robots in the reflection. It's a shame, but I'm still having a lot of fun with the game, so no big deal. Still, there's a good example of the graphical differences between the versions.
Yeah, Future Tense is pretty interesting. Sure is a bitch without Crash's power-ups, though. I won't say it's the Dark Souls of Crash Bandicoot levels or anything like that, but it certainly offers a good challenge between its box placement, death route and those FUCKING MISSILES. Even with the reflective mirrors, it's a bit tricky to get the timing down for those. Also, I love playing as Coco in the future levels, having her stop and waiting for her idle animation where she gets a cell phone call. Who the fuck could be calling her in the distant future, or indeed any of the centuries apart timelines she and Crash visit throughout the adventure? That's some fucking creepypasta material right there. Yeah, I'm overthinking it, but I love it when something in a video game really makes me stop and think about the 'what if' scenarios. As for the prospect of a new Crash game (or games, plural) down the road, I'd certainly appreciate that. Hell, I wouldn't even mind too much if they did another reboot. For all their strange ideas, I didn't really have a problem with Crash Of The Titans or its sequel. If Activision or whoever wants to take Crash in a bold new direction that goes against the established canon, I for one won't start blindly throwing hate at it right out of the gate. I'd just be intrigued and interested to see where they're going with such a thing. Call me desperate, but to me, any Crash is better than no Crash, and I'll take whatever I can get. That said, I'd also love to see Crash in the latest Smash Bros., if only so I can have him punch the crap out of Link from Legend Of Zelda and prove once and for all who has the better spin attack. Also, don't get mad at that last comment, Zelda fans - I love me some Link almost as much as I love me some Crash.

That box gem really fucked with me the first time, I had to look up a video to see what I was missing. The level was pretty challenging and felt great to see something new. I picked the switch version when it came out and it plays just fine. The lighting seems darker though that maybe my brightness on my switch not sure. I even picked up a wired n sane controller for the switch at gamestop. Needless to say I'm really enjoying it so far on a different system. Good review by the way.
6:28 It's kind of sad to see all of the detail left out on the remake on that scene, especially considering all of the detail added on everything in the Spyro Remakes. I've not played enough of the originals, but just from that scene alone, where is the warped font and textures (not talking about PS1 texture warping), the dripping water, and the cracked and dirty textures? Sure there is a bit of dirt around the level entrance, but so much of it is bright and clean. I'd love to see someone go through and mod stuff like this to make it have more personality like it seems to in the original. It's a small detail sure, and probably nitpicky, but I think it's important in the long run, aesthetically.
I feel like so much can still be done with the Classic Crash Bandicoot formula that isn't Vehicle Hell. Future Tense was a great start to that, they really did use Crash 3's powerups to a good extent, I feel like if VV van make the next Crash game, I think they could do some crazy stuff with the formula. I hope Activision is smart enough to let VV finally pump out another new Crash game. Also have high hopes for Spyro Reignited Trilogy, but that is Toys for Bob, still looks great though.
I'm a bit worried about Spyro, the Crash remakes seem to be far more accurate then the Spyro ones, I guess we'll see, I love the N Sane Trilogy, I prefer the PS1 versions of Crash 1 and 2 although obviously they're not objectively better (at least Crash 1 isn't) Crash 3 I'm just not the biggest fan of anyway so meh, I have had no issues at all on PC, it's really cool to see you talk about this more man :D, can't ever get enough of your videos!.
Did anyone else _hate_ the N.Sane trilogy when compared to the originals? It's an absolutely inferior product in every way other than graphics. Horrible jumping mechanics, hitboxes and butchered music. (Graphics are even arguably worse as they lack that PS1 charm and look super rushed in certain areas anyways.)
I wonder what theme the inevitable new crash game will have. Crash 1 was basically 3d donkey kong country, crash 2 had climatal changes and technology, and crash 3 had time travel. What would be cool is possibly around the world?
So if Future Tense is 2.5 Dimensional and Crash & Spyro are 3 Dimensional; then what would a 4 Dimensional level/game look like?? We all know that the fourth dimension is ‘time and relativity’ so my guess would be, in a 4 dimensional level you could... Move up, down, forward, back, left and right, move the camera around and explore an open world, somehow jump from worlds/levels WITHOUT loading times and alter the interactions and elements around you. For example, instead of Crash spinning & jumping on Crates, he can physically pick them up (optionally) and use them as a weapon against larger enemies! That’s my idea of a 4 dimensional level. Just adding a new unseen feature. Making it more human like..

Honestly, after a year playing the N-Sane Trilogy since its release, I honestly consider it the best way to play the original games right now, sure those games still hold a special place in my heart, but the love and passion that was put in here really shines through. Definitely one of the best remakes (yes, a REMAKE) that I've played in my life (also this patch for the loading times was a GODSEND)

I'm loving the way Future Tense came out. So many cool new ideas that make it feel it's actual fans of Crash working on it. Things like the boxes that switch around between box-types now having TNT, little details like that. So awesome. And I can't help but admire what they did with the window reflection stuff.
Honestly, news about the Future Tense passed me by until I saw the trailer, and I was happy to see a new level, I even downloaded the level on release day and got both gems and a gold relic, though I've yet to get Stormy Ascent's relic. But like you, I would have happily paid for a level pack of 5 - 10 new levels with 1 or 2 new boss fights for each game as long as they were built to be challenging but fair, hell, I'm probably the only person who would love a Wrath of Cortex DLC pack for N.Sane, sure it wouldn't fix all of WoC's problems, but it'd be a big improvement over the original. Though I'm still hoping Crash 2 gets it's own extra level since it's pretty much left out at the time of this comment, though I still feel that the Crash Dash stills a slight boost in speed since I'm still having trouble getting platinum relics, and if I had to do something different for Future Tense, the Death Route gem should have been the orange gem from the first game which was never used afterwards, but those are only minor complaints in a pretty solid level which feels like it came from a good hack of the game and not one of those stupidly hard "master of physics and geometry" hacks you can find videos of on UA-cam.
Future Tense is a great example of an original DLC level for Crash. They should have also made two more levels that are based on areas that have been a bit underused. Like the Underwater and Chinese levels, which only had two levels each. If they were to do one extra level to each, I think they should be called Under the Surface and Shanghai Noon.

7:40 that’s how I feel about Majoras Mask 3D. Despite having some changes I’m not a fan of (completely changing the boss fights for example) the improvements made to saving and the time travel systems along with portability make the 3DS version the definitive way to play Majoras Mask, especially for newcomers
Now, can you imagine a level editor and a way to share levels? All the Crash you could ever want... Sure, you'd your Happy Wheels/Mario Maker fuck you shit levels, but both those games have lots of great levels too. Now play as Crash with all his power ups and that, holy shit I've creamed my jeans.
Future Tense is easily the best level in crash 3 and some parts of that level are just the best overall. Just like they did with XS and n-tranced VV proved again that they can make awesome things. I'm now so hyped for whatever crash related thing they'll release in 2019. And thanks to the quality of life improvements for n. Sane trilogy, it's easily the best way to play the trilogy. G fucking G.
So happy they finally fixed the load times and let you skip the intro. The new level is great. Also in regards to he Switch version, that version doesn't have wall reflections, which really hurts the new level. Only thing that kind of sucks about that version.
I also found it cool that you can switch between Crash and Coco on both of the plane levels. I'm not sure if we can do the same thing for Rings of Power yet. I need to get all 25 relics to be certain. Edit: As for Future Tense, it's honestly my favourite level in Warped for making me take advantage of Crash 3's mechanics like what Crash 2 does with it's mechanics. The platforming, the challenge and the variety throughout Future Tense alone makes me very hopeful towards Vicarious Visions for the future of the series.
Yeaah, I have to agree, although I'm really happy to see these new patches and some new content it really begs the question of why they had so little faith/care towards the game post release. An entire year of nothing is pretty depressing when you consider how successful the reboot was. Hopefully they take better care of Spyro, which is already looking like yet another huge success, they've been actively taking feedback from play-testers for a while now and I have no doubts that the games will deliver. :)

Future Tense is a majority sidescrolling level because it is a reference to the first time Vicarious Visions worked on Crash Bandicoot: on the GBA.

I kinda wish we had the option to toggle back to the original soundtrack. In Crash 1, the sounds are much darker and dramatic. I kinda miss that.

I thought I was crazy when I got THIS giddy over the N Sane Trilogy. Good to see that others also think it's worth tears of joy.
I'm a bit worried about Spyro, the Crash remakes seem to be far more accurate then the Spyro ones, I guess we'll see, I love the N Sane Trilogy, I prefer the PS1 versions of Crash 1 and 2 although obviously they're not objectively better (at least Crash 1 isn't) Crash 3 I'm just not the biggest fan of anyway so meh, I have had no issues at all on PC, it's really cool to see you talk about this more man :D, can't ever get enough of your videos!.
Did anyone else _hate_ the N.Sane trilogy when compared to the originals? It's an absolutely inferior product in every way other than graphics. Horrible jumping mechanics, hitboxes and butchered music. (Graphics are even arguably worse as they lack that PS1 charm and look super rushed in certain areas anyways.)
I wonder what theme the inevitable new crash game will have. Crash 1 was basically 3d donkey kong country, crash 2 had climatal changes and technology, and crash 3 had time travel. What would be cool is possibly around the world?
So if Future Tense is 2.5 Dimensional and Crash & Spyro are 3 Dimensional; then what would a 4 Dimensional level/game look like?? We all know that the fourth dimension is ‘time and relativity’ so my guess would be, in a 4 dimensional level you could... Move up, down, forward, back, left and right, move the camera around and explore an open world, somehow jump from worlds/levels WITHOUT loading times and alter the interactions and elements around you. For example, instead of Crash spinning & jumping on Crates, he can physically pick them up (optionally) and use them as a weapon against larger enemies! That’s my idea of a 4 dimensional level. Just adding a new unseen feature. Making it more human like..
Dude thanks for informing me of these changes, i thought all they did was slap the spyro trailer in and change some gameplay elements here and there.

Honestly, after a year playing the N-Sane Trilogy since its release, I honestly consider it the best way to play the original games right now, sure those games still hold a special place in my heart, but the love and passion that was put in here really shines through. Definitely one of the best remakes (yes, a REMAKE) that I've played in my life (also this patch for the loading times was a GODSEND)

I'm loving the way Future Tense came out. So many cool new ideas that make it feel it's actual fans of Crash working on it. Things like the boxes that switch around between box-types now having TNT, little details like that. So awesome. And I can't help but admire what they did with the window reflection stuff.
Honestly, news about the Future Tense passed me by until I saw the trailer, and I was happy to see a new level, I even downloaded the level on release day and got both gems and a gold relic, though I've yet to get Stormy Ascent's relic.
But like you, I would have happily paid for a level pack of 5 - 10 new levels with 1 or 2 new boss fights for each game as long as they were built to be challenging but fair, hell, I'm probably the only person who would love a Wrath of Cortex DLC pack for N.Sane, sure it wouldn't fix all of WoC's problems, but it'd be a big improvement over the original.
Though I'm still hoping Crash 2 gets it's own extra level since it's pretty much left out at the time of this comment, though I still feel that the Crash Dash stills a slight boost in speed since I'm still having trouble getting platinum relics, and if I had to do something different for Future Tense, the Death Route gem should have been the orange gem from the first game which was never used afterwards, but those are only minor complaints in a pretty solid level which feels like it came from a good hack of the game and not one of those stupidly hard "master of physics and geometry" hacks you can find videos of on UA-cam.
Future Tense is a great example of an original DLC level for Crash. They should have also made two more levels that are based on areas that have been a bit underused. Like the Underwater and Chinese levels, which only had two levels each. If they were to do one extra level to each, I think they should be called Under the Surface and Shanghai Noon.
I love the N. Sane Trilogy just as much as the original trilogy

7:40 that’s how I feel about Majoras Mask 3D. Despite having some changes I’m not a fan of (completely changing the boss fights for example) the improvements made to saving and the time travel systems along with portability make the 3DS version the definitive way to play Majoras Mask, especially for newcomers

I used an ssd in the Xbox version and it literally boots every level in 1-3 seconds it’s great.

Future Tense is easily the best level in crash 3 and some parts of that level are just the best overall. Just like they did with XS and n-tranced VV proved again that they can make awesome things. I'm now so hyped for whatever crash related thing they'll release in 2019. And thanks to the quality of life improvements for n. Sane trilogy, it's easily the best way to play the trilogy. G fucking G.
So happy they finally fixed the load times and let you skip the intro. The new level is great.
Also in regards to he Switch version, that version doesn't have wall reflections, which really hurts the new level. Only thing that kind of sucks about that version.

I actually found stormy ascent to not be as hard as everyone complained. While I did lose overall 17 lives, it was nothing compared to the high road.
I also found it cool that you can switch between Crash and Coco on both of the plane levels. I'm not sure if we can do the same thing for Rings of Power yet. I need to get all 25 relics to be certain.
Edit: As for Future Tense, it's honestly my favourite level in Warped for making me take advantage of Crash 3's mechanics like what Crash 2 does with it's mechanics. The platforming, the challenge and the variety throughout Future Tense alone makes me very hopeful towards Vicarious Visions for the future of the series.
In my opinion twinsanity has the best soundtrack.
This game always gives me goosebumps so happy that gaming is finally enjoyable and challenging again!

Yeaah, I have to agree, although I'm really happy to see these new patches and some new content it really begs the question of why they had so little faith/care towards the game post release. An entire year of nothing is pretty depressing when you consider how successful the reboot was. Hopefully they take better care of Spyro, which is already looking like yet another huge success, they've been actively taking feedback from play-testers for a while now and I have no doubts that the games will deliver. :)

Cortex tokens are for secret levels keys. Good thing they changed that.
