You can set the number of steps for a pattern if you want it to be shorter than 16.
You must do this before going in to pitch mode.
Start with a cleared slot.
Press and hold [function] then tap [step] for the number of steps you want your pattern to be.
Now enter pitch mode and enter notes as described in this tutorial.
If you have done this correctly, the time mode will reset after the number of steps you entered.
Note that you can enter an unlimited number of notes in pitch mode, but only the last X notes you entered will be saved in the pattern.
When you enter a rest or a tie, it will push notes out of your pattern, but in the opposite direction.
It is very confusing, but it is easier to understand if you Imagine the notes written on a line.
Notes entered in Pitch mode will push the whole stack of previous notes to the left.
Rests and ties entered in time mode will push the following notes to the right.
Just got this last week, I WILL NEVER ET RID OF IT. The devilfish vibes are immaculate
Fkn based
Can you tell me how many factory patterns it comes installed with please - before i get one ! Thanks.
I got mine and busted out a seriously awesome little jam right out of the box using the new features. This thing is amazing.
I loved the octatrack jam at the end. What a well explained and enjoyable video.
I just got this machine. This is hands down the best thing I have ever bought. Great introductory tutorial. Thank you
The muffler attenuates the high frequencies so if you're playing in a club it'll stop the harshness when you drive filter resonance.
That’s heckin based as heck
well done! i figured out the pattern programming really quick follow that section. Just got the unit, and ill watch more later. play time now. Thank you so very much!!
Great demo! On my wishlist for Christmas! 👍
Awesome video, I can't wait for this!!
This video literally has the best TD-3 sequencer tutorial. Danke brother!
Agree it’s well done.
Thanks for this excellent tutorial, I have just received it so just learning how to use the machine
Mine arrives later this week. Really looking forward to it!
Just bought it this morning, such a beast
Got mine yesterday from you guys at thomann. I will not sleep much
Wow. Very impressive performance. I'm inspired to emulate! Thanks!
Niiiiice :) Got my "standard" TD-3 Yellow this week, and it's awesome :-)
Lovely jam too
This guy is the master of TB303 and TD03.. he just knows the stuff! It took me days to understand the TB303 back in the 90s and this guy just explained it in 5 min.
I mean it’s a pretty basic guitar
I just got mine paid and shipped out today! I totally forgot I was on a waiting list and then Sweetwater called me and said it was available, so I got it! I have the TD-3 so I'm hoping together they will be an insane groove haha!
Just got mine from them last week! Very fun with the td-3 and rd-6..Although I prefer the Roland tr-8 drum machine far more than the rd-6. Have fun when you get yours.
Excellent jam at the end!
Cool! Thanks, mate!
Honestly, damn!
I double that… I mean I second that.
I love my TD3 and this is goin right next to it as soon as it drops
Edit: great video also, subbed :)
Felix : gives a TD-3 MO demonstration
Me : intensely analyze his Octatrack method
Same hahahahaha
haha, if you have any specific questions, let me know :D
@@ThomannSynthesizersdoes the MO have a distortion?
@@themaskedgamer1033 no but it does have od
Yeah exactly…. Great demo ❤ but I was omg he will show how to control this with an elektron device but no just a JAM. I’ll look for that via another video. Thanks for the video it was very good at explaining the basics actually.
The set up looks really cool. The music had its own kind of dancing unique to the music as I remember.
What was it exactly, I make this and I don’t kno how to dance to it myself
@@Chungusisdanthemanif you can't dance to it without an explanation, don't make it 😂
Great jam
Bravo, first decent video I've seen so far, I was starting to think a ball had been dropped in the marketing department...
Looks badass!
fire track in the outro!
cool, and great job on the vid
I did wait for that one 💥💪❤️
Nice jam at the end
great demo :D
awesome tutorial
That outro jam sick bro
Reminds me of the Amiga game The Chaos Engine, takes me back to the fun times as a kid.
Thomann is the best Synth dealer in the world. Everyone at the Boiler Room shops @ Thomann !
Endlich mal jemand der nicht betriebsblind (sprich: vieles voraussetzend) erklärt. DANKE!
Was für ein klasse Track!
brill tutorial many thanks 👍👍
so nice with the expension mine in the future
Very nice! Thank you!
sounds good!!
Watching this to find out what the muffler is for 😂 great vid though dude loved the new features being explained so well, all very helpful x
On the Devil Fish it was to tame some of the crazy resonant screeching that was made possible
@@delta-9969 nice one thanks bruv x
Awesome Little thing, a question what did you use to make the Pads at 10:50 ?
Squelch bounce squelch. These are great little boxes
Cool, would have been good to include some of the new mods in the jam.
Best tutorial thanks🎉❤😊
damn! guess i'm getting a new acid box soon
Way to go! One can never have enough synths :)
Join the club lol
Cool video! What are you using to create the pad sounds in the background?
Cool its got an overdrive built in. That will free up my SD-1 for other gear.
Nice video although for the power of all tb-303 type of synths is in the step programmer and using midi input takes a lot of the sound.
Nice one
sick track! is there a full version? Also would you know how to sync the td-3 Mo to a yamaha xd200? yamaha doesn't have midi thru.
Do you have a tutorial on how to control the TD-3 with the Octatrack? Can you also control slides and accents via the Octa or is that only possible via the TD-3?
Would have liked to hear more additional features tweaks on the final pattern
Is there a note-rest button, or a pause note button? What the way to place (write) pause notes? Thanks for the video!
I have the un-mo one in yellow, now I'll get the mo one in silver!
HI great video, can i use a pattern from an usb for example from fl studio and play it on the synth without a computer connected?
Hey dude, excelent review, very clean and useful explenation! Just have a wuestion regarding external sequence from octatrack: how do you send accent, slide/glide in the sequence? I don’t have an octatrack is that something build in in octatrack as well? Or you can increase velocity or decay in separate notes and it will work?
the accent is controlled by a certain velocity value which is configurable via usb. so if you're over velocity xxx it's playing the accent. the slide is done by overlapping notes. so every sequencer should be able to to it! hope that helped :)
Thanks for the reply! Thinking to buy this one :)
How do you manage the slide feature when is sequenced by the octatrack?? Is it possible?? And there is no preset sound right? Would you have to save a midi part on the octatrack to stablish a preset on the td3?? And last question, which parameter/know are you changing on the octatrack? Apart from the scenes, I'm curious. Thanks for answering my questions :)
I just recently bought a "normal" TD-3 from Thomann, I'm very happy with it. However, seeing the TD-3-MO already makes me think if I would like to have it as well. For some reason I'm more productive with HW as compared to SW. This might be due to the fact that it is more intuitive to me to press buttons & turn knobs rather than move a mouse. The TD-3-MO has the capability to open up new sound design possibilities together with other HW. Currently I own a Behringer Crave + Neutron where I feel they would fit quite well to create some interesting sounds/patterns.
A PC is the most powerful music making tool on the planet
🥱
Does the TD 3 MO have a 'Swing' setting on the sequencer? Thanks
Love my yellow td3 and I'm going to love this! Any idea when they can get shipped to the UK? ✌🏻❤️

Hi Tom. Sadly we don't have a fixed date yet. You can pre-order yours here and you'll receive an automatic confirmation as soon as the td3 mos are in stock: www.thomann.de/gb/behringer_td_3_mo.htm
@@ThomannSynthesizers DO NOY BUY FROM THOMANN if you live in the UK as you will get a MASSIVE import tax bill !!!!
They are lovely people but because we opted out of the EU now when we buy from abroad we pay for it BIG TIME :(
@@mikeb2575 Yep.... My collegae from the UK normally ordered from Thomann. He ordered something in December. Shipment got delayed, he wasn't very happy when he got the shipment after the 1st of January......
on the first behringer td-3 you can gently put the slider between the osc options, and it would shut off the main sounds and let you use the filter in without internal sounds, if that makes sense. i wonder if you can do that and hear just the sub oscillator on these or if it even does that or if it just kills all sounds?
i think so, that's why there is a of setting now in the middle which turns of the osc just like the td3 does. it wouldnt make any sense that the off setting on the osc waveform selector would mute all sound. there it has the actual power button for :D
I thought it had an actual useable arpeggiator? If it's the same non-existent "arpeggiator" as the TD-3, are you able to midi sequence an arpeggiator on the TD3 using the octatrack?
Does the red accent button stay in when pushed like the red sub osc. button or do you physically have to hold it in while pushed ?
Oh yes, we still waiting. What´s up with the MO?
I hope this message finds you well. I recently acquired a Roland TR-8S drum machine and I'm having some trouble figuring out the best way to connect and sequence it with the TD-3. I've tired to Midi cable out of TR8S to the in of the td3 and Sound Output of the td3 to the mono in of the TR8S no luck.
Could you share any tips or guidelines on how to properly connect and sequence the TR-8S? Any advice on cable management, syncing with other gear, or general best practices would be incredibly helpful.
Thank you so much for your time and assistance. I really appreciate any insights you can provide!
Usually it‘s a good idea to download the manual of all your instruments to your phone as a pdf. This way you can quickly search for the terms regarding your questions.
Do you really want to sequence the TD3 with the TR8S or do you just want to clock it (tempo sync)? Most people prefer to sequence 303‘s and 303 clones internally in order to achieve the classic acid sounds especially due to the characteristic glides between some notes. In this case you just want to make sure that the TR8s sends clock information and that the TD3 receives clock information as explained in both manuals.
Hey, do you think you can tell me what the function del and function ins are for?
Has anyone noticed with this TD-3 MO the back button does not work when editing the pattern?... mine only allows me to go forward.
I also have a Roland TB-03 which also has the back button and that works no problems.
I predict a second wave of acid type of music in the charts, agree?
Are all original pattenrs on c major scale?
I have to have one
@twiglet2214
Can you tell me how many factory patterns it comes installed with please - before i get one ! Thanks.
Can you turn the flashing leds off at the bottom of the case?
Is it possible to set the decay of the td-3-mo to unlimited, so that the envelope never closes?
are those holes for patching? can you show off a video explaining them and showing them off
just google an image of td-3 mo and you have a hi-res image, the text above the jacks tells you all you need to know..
When is ot avaikable for purchase in Canada?
Wäre essenziell zu wissen wie das patchen geht. Wo schließt man was an. Was ist der Filter, pitch usw.
I got mine today. Is it normal that there is no sound when overdrive is at zero? I do have to open it just a bit to hear a sound.
Ok, da muss ich mir wohl ne dritte TD3 zulegen XD
🔥🔥🔥🔥
hello. can the td3 record and store midi sequences played by a daw or any other sequencer?
Try the Behringer app to visualize your patterns and then dump them from your computer to the device
What is the bpm at 12 o clock? And how much does the tempo change for each mark on the tempo dial? I looked in the manual and it doesn't even say
@felix, did you cut that shaker sample in the live jam? been trying to find exactly that, I if you have a link much appreciated! ps another great upload thx mate!
The sample you are reffering to is the so called „think break“. Besides from the Amen break its the most important breakbeat sample. It stems from the track „Lyn Collins - Think (about it) [prod. by James Brown]“ If you google it you should easily find prechooped clean wav files of just the break part.
@@ThomannSynthesizers copy, thx!
@@SeanSchermerhorn barry beats also remade a lot of the breaks from scratch and they sound dope. @berrybeats
@@flootymcdootymanooty9145 noice thx mate!

I’ve watched multiple videos and followed instructions closely and I can’t get the number 1 to flash the way everyone else does it just stays lit no matter what I do. Please help. Thanks
sounds like you are from germany xd
wenn man ein TD 3 AM bestellt sind da alle kabel mit bei ?
Whats the second tool behind the td3? For the bassline
Saw title, thought well i've owned this for over a year, why is this channel, usually at the forefront of new hardware, only now doing a video about it? WHAT?! My year old synth is out of date already?! Thanks guys I now ordered a new one. Wife is very happy about this. edit: I used to own an OG 303. holy shit why did the OG not let you program it like that.
Great programming demo! Clear steps but thank goodness Behringer created an app to help program it !
That's was available on the original. No tone control for this distortion. No modified way to implement notes for patterns. I'm disappointed that they are basically creating G.A.S. with all their recent cloned gear by creating the versions they should have initially released. So no point in buying an rd9 if only a year or two later they created a more advanced version. Wasting people's money and trust.
@@Decoy303 wtf that’s literally how product design works lol
I just got a brand new Behringer TD-3 MO and a Behringer DDM4000 Digital mixer. Very happy camper with Behringer. I will connect the TD-3 MO to my Auturia Keystep controller to program beats. 🤗
I also just purchased a Roland FANTOM-06 Digital Keyboard Synthesizer 🎹. This board have all of Roland's drum sets and any instrument you could think of.
I'm a Dj with real records and CD's.
I don't need no turntable no more. I'm a one man band.
Good lesson.
Die drei stark klangbeeinflussenden Features (Overdrive, Muffler, Filter FM) wurden meiner Meinung nach nicht gut beleuchtet im Video. Ich habe da irgendwie kaum was gehört.
Regarding the Muffler...The manual states the following:
"MUFFLER - this switch affects the VCA output at higher
levels (off and two soft clipping modes). Position 1
removes some high frequencies to smooth the sound
when extreme resonance is used. Position 2 removes even
more HF content."
If you want to controll the TD3 MO from an external cv/gate sequencer.Do you also have to connect the "filter CV in" or is "CV in/Gate in" connections enough?
In the modular/semi-modular world, 'cv in' is generally for pitch, 'gate' of course for gate (how long does the gate stay open and what envelope shape is the gate). So those two parameters get you notes. The filter cv in will modulate the filter, so for example with a slow sine wave lfo, it'll slowly open and close the filter.
PS 'cv' just stands for'control voltage'. It's a method for controlling a synth from pre-MIDI days with analog inputs. It's still used widely in eurorack for example
I need this one in Eurorack...
drinking some water before talking into a microphone always was a great idea
what is the difference between this one and the cheaper version?
Why not turn the MO-knobs in the demo at the end? This all just sounded like a regular TD-3 to me.
bruh howre u getting accents and slides if its midi sequenced by octtrk?
Is it possible to trigger slide and accent by midi?
