You can set the number of steps for a pattern if you want it to be shorter than 16. You must do this before going in to pitch mode. Start with a cleared slot. Press and hold [function] then tap [step] for the number of steps you want your pattern to be. Now enter pitch mode and enter notes as described in this tutorial. If you have done this correctly, the time mode will reset after the number of steps you entered. Note that you can enter an unlimited number of notes in pitch mode, but only the last X notes you entered will be saved in the pattern. When you enter a rest or a tie, it will push notes out of your pattern, but in the opposite direction. It is very confusing, but it is easier to understand if you Imagine the notes written on a line. Notes entered in Pitch mode will push the whole stack of previous notes to the left. Rests and ties entered in time mode will push the following notes to the right.
well done! i figured out the pattern programming really quick follow that section. Just got the unit, and ill watch more later. play time now. Thank you so very much!!
Die drei stark klangbeeinflussenden Features (Overdrive, Muffler, Filter FM) wurden meiner Meinung nach nicht gut beleuchtet im Video. Ich habe da irgendwie kaum was gehört.
Do you have a tutorial on how to control the TD-3 with the Octatrack? Can you also control slides and accents via the Octa or is that only possible via the TD-3?
How do you manage the slide feature when is sequenced by the octatrack?? Is it possible?? And there is no preset sound right? Would you have to save a midi part on the octatrack to stablish a preset on the td3?? And last question, which parameter/know are you changing on the octatrack? Apart from the scenes, I'm curious. Thanks for answering my questions :)

I've tired to Midi cable out of TR8S to the in of the td3 and Sound Output of the td3 to the mono in of the TR8S no luck. Could you share any tips or guidelines on how to properly connect and sequence the TR-8S? Any advice on cable management, syncing with other gear, or general best practices would be incredibly helpful. Thank you so much for your time and assistance. I really appreciate any insights you can provide!
Usually it‘s a good idea to download the manual of all your instruments to your phone as a pdf. This way you can quickly search for the terms regarding your questions. Do you really want to sequence the TD3 with the TR8S or do you just want to clock it (tempo sync)? Most people prefer to sequence 303‘s and 303 clones internally in order to achieve the classic acid sounds especially due to the characteristic glides between some notes. In this case you just want to make sure that the TR8s sends clock information and that the TD3 receives clock information as explained in both manuals.
I’ve watched multiple videos and followed instructions closely and I can’t get the number 1 to flash the way everyone else does it just stays lit no matter what I do. Please help. Thanks
I hope Behringer overhauled/changed the pots that become scratchy from the OG TD-3. I fixed mine on my own; no big deal ,but I can't help but feel iffy now about the longevity of these clones. Nonetheless this is great.
Saw title, thought well i've owned this for over a year, why is this channel, usually at the forefront of new hardware, only now doing a video about it? WHAT?! My year old synth is out of date already?! Thanks guys I now ordered a new one. Wife is very happy about this. edit: I used to own an OG 303. holy shit why did the OG not let you program it like that.
I thought it had an actual useable arpeggiator? If it's the same non-existent "arpeggiator" as the TD-3, are you able to midi sequence an arpeggiator on the TD3 using the octatrack?
That's was available on the original. No tone control for this distortion. No modified way to implement notes for patterns. I'm disappointed that they are basically creating G.A.S. with all their recent cloned gear by creating the versions they should have initially released. So no point in buying an rd9 if only a year or two later they created a more advanced version. Wasting people's money and trust.
on the first behringer td-3 you can gently put the slider between the osc options, and it would shut off the main sounds and let you use the filter in without internal sounds, if that makes sense. i wonder if you can do that and hear just the sub oscillator on these or if it even does that or if it just kills all sounds?
i think so, that's why there is a of setting now in the middle which turns of the osc just like the td3 does. it wouldnt make any sense that the off setting on the osc waveform selector would mute all sound. there it has the actual power button for :D
If you want to controll the TD3 MO from an external cv/gate sequencer.Do you also have to connect the "filter CV in" or is "CV in/Gate in" connections enough?
In the modular/semi-modular world, 'cv in' is generally for pitch, 'gate' of course for gate (how long does the gate stay open and what envelope shape is the gate). So those two parameters get you notes. The filter cv in will modulate the filter, so for example with a slow sine wave lfo, it'll slowly open and close the filter. PS 'cv' just stands for'control voltage'. It's a method for controlling a synth from pre-MIDI days with analog inputs. It's still used widely in eurorack for example
@felix, did you cut that shaker sample in the live jam? been trying to find exactly that, I if you have a link much appreciated! ps another great upload thx mate!
The sample you are reffering to is the so called „think break“. Besides from the Amen break its the most important breakbeat sample. It stems from the track „Lyn Collins - Think (about it) [prod. by James Brown]“ If you google it you should easily find prechooped clean wav files of just the break part.
The muffler attenuates the high frequencies so if you're playing in a club it'll stop the harshness when you drive filter resonance.
