- Williams founded the Spiritual QC’s in 1968 in Tupelo, Mississippi. They performed for decades before recording their first national LP, 1996’s “Jesus Is Alive and Well.” It included the gospel hit “I’ve Learned to Lean.” Williams and the group went on to record at least a dozen more albums, and they were honored with a Soul Train Award for Best Gospel Album of the Year as well as several Stellar Awards. In 2010, they were honored with the Stellar Awards’ James Cleveland Lifetime Achievement Award. Williams led the Spiritual QCs for 50 years, until his retirement in 2018.

I loved Lee Williams. As a white guy I first heard his music while eating at Chef Lee's Soul Food in Boston back in 1999 or 2000 I asked Lee who was playing and I went out to Skippy Whites and bought the Good Time CD. I was hooked sense and bought all his other works. I have followed him ever since. I was saddened to hear of his passing . Keep the faith my brother.

He was definitely a legend. I will miss him more than words can say!!! I’m so thankful that he didn’t allow his physical condition to deter him from using his God given talent. I hope and pray as I age that I won’t give up and will keep praising God until He calls me home. Rest well Mr Williams.

Im in tears watching this. Understanding only in part the amount of strength this had to take on his body. Realizing many people who are healthy won't raise or waved their hand in worship to the true and living God whose name is Jesus Christ! Im thankful to have seen him many times. I am still hurting by his passing. I went to my vehicle and played "He laid his hands on me" and "You can't run, you can't hide" cd. Two of my favorite songs by him. Lee really ministered in every song he would sang. His songs will always minister to all of us for years to come. Lee you will "always" be in all of our hearts forever. We will never stop playing your songs. Every song he song he sung. Ministered to something we all were going through. I had to go listen to his songs when Hurricane Ida hit us. WOW, this brought tears 😭 to my eyes! Lost my Dad 8/2017. He sung in a group like this. He began to forget the words so his wife would stand beside him and tell him the words. At his service his old singing group had the people mouth wide open! The church choir director said, it was no need to sing they had it!👏🏽🙌🏽❤️ There is never a good feeling when our love ones pass but your soul is so full when you know that your love one has a personal relationship with the Lord until their last breath! I don’t know Mr. Lee Williams but I do know, God was pleased and he will be welcome with open arms by God! 🙌🏽🙏🏽🙌🏽
