I like the first set of eyes. Reminds me of my eyes after staring too long at the tv or cell phone. Love the simplicity and quality, keep up the good work. Take care and God bless.
Very clever and creative! Like a previous comment would like to see short video of you making the jig also. As a new turner greatly appreciate your teachings. Thank you, David
Yay, another creature! I've been watching these kinds of vids to relax before bed for months now, and at some point you just get really sick of resin vases. I really appreciate that you try different things. It's always a hoot to check out what you've made
That means a lot, thanks Elan. I do know what you mean. There are some amazing projects using resin, but I'm trying to explore the possibilities with wood and keep plastics to a minimum.
I don't have a separate video explaining it, but its nothing fancy, just two rings which I made on the lathe. The hole of the rings which you can see at (4.46) are slightly smaller than the diameter of the sphere. I then use long screws to clamp the sphere in between these rings and measure to ensure an even clamping pressure. After the first eye socket is turned I rotated the sphere a little less than 90 degrees and turned the other eye socket. Thanks a lot, hope that helps. Cheers
Nice turning Clair but why do a lot of turners persist in wearing long sleeves and gloves when on the lathe? I say it over and over, it only takes one loose thread etc to get caught and your turning days could be over!😢 Stay safe.👍
What eyes do you like best?
The soulful eyes of a tall, dark and handsome man
Wait no uh I mean the green ones
@@loud9903 Haha 🤣
Big blue derpy ones!
@@PantheraMorag Haha they do look derpy! Glad I'm not the only one hoo thought that.

I love this. Next time you should make an owl bowl, or as I like to call it, a “bowl”
Pronounced like “bowel”?
@@loud9903 no, like “bowl”
If I do, owl dedicate it to you 😄
Or if it pecked you, call it an "ouch"? I'm feeling feather brained I guess.
