@yzile They didn’t have the budget for another until dawn style game that’s why they have done the shorter dark pictures games the reason they made this was because of 2k helping them out. So of course the games with more backing behind them like until dawn and the quarry will be better then the lower budgeted dark picture games but so far I’ve enjoyed all the interactive horror games they have done.
Well, it’s basically real acting at this point. They’re in a studio, wearing motion capture and facial capture gear and acting the scene out. Definitely going to get better performances this way.

Something I’ve noticed in this preview is how things will just be in the background and the game won’t telegraph it to you. Things will just appear. Long enough for you to notice, but won’t dwell on it. It leaves you on edge and checking the darkness to see if something is there. It’s so low key and well done. Cannot be more excited!
Until Dawn was the game that got me into the story choice based genre and introduced me to games by Telltale Games, DONTNOD, DeckNine Games, Quantic Dream and obviously the other games by Supermassive Games! I'm so excited for this one!😆
Really doubt they are showing any kills. This is the first 30 minutes. Deaths are usually off screen whenever there is an off screen one the character tends to come back later

In the other game descriptions they never included the 2 intro characters when listing the cast (in man of medan it doesn't say play as 7 characters and keep them all alive, it says play as 5). I think this is just an inevitable intro but the cop saves both of them.
Ted Raimi usually isn't cast in these physically-imposing roles. He nailed this character. The malice coming off of him was powerful. Super creepy. Can't wait to play this game.
It's weird, that the better the technology seems to get, the more the faces fall into the uncanny valley. Its so close but so far from looking natural.
Can't wait for this game to come out. I'm a huge fan of all Supermassive made (Until Dawn still top) and this looks like it's improving the formula on all grounds. And calling it now, there's gonna be werewolves (the moon being shown in a lot of shots), Landis University easter egg (John Landis made American werewolf in London), what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger (if you're not killed by a werewolf but just bitten, you're gonna turn into one) June can't come soon enough.
These graphics are insane, it's like watching a movie with real people. The music suited the vibe just right too the only negative was that annoying cop. His whole energy makes a person want to resist arrest lol

That girl was lost and wish to save someone who is locked up in a deserted area. She is really brave to wonder into the forest herself but I'm not sure if her actions were really logical.
This guy's been a great actor for a long time, especially funny in Santa Clarita Diet (miss that show) Really hyped for this after the last game which was the best since Until Dawn.
I'm so excited for the Quarry! I'm just absolutely blown away by everything shown so far. The graphics and cinematography are incredible! The voice acting feels pretty natural too. This just makes me realize how off the Dark Pictures Anthology series feels at times whether it be the graphics, voice acting, or character models.
This feels like supermassive finally found their proper footing. The graphics. The mo cap. The sound design! This feel/sounds like a true aaa horror flick!

Medium was actually pretty disappointing to me. It felt more like a walking sim than a survival horror. Fortunately Resident Evil and Dying Light are still going strong and soon we’ll have Dead Space and Alan Wake 2
Shaping very nicely, and those are some next~level facial animations, right down to the subtle details, complimented further by the great & natural flow of the dialogue.
Can't lie, the way their face move around while their talking gives me an awkward feeling everytime, yet it's so charming! Lol. Damn, no one does it better than Supermassive for sure!

In other terms though sure, but gotta keep in mind those games are only made in under two years as they release one every year
They've been improving facial animation a lot in this genre for sure. Little hope and house of ashes had excellent facial anim too, really expressive with incredible photorealism.
Clearly that phone doesn't have Google Maps. Once the destination is locked in, even if you completely lose service the route still shows you how to get to where you're going.
Love Supermassive and their horror games and it’s great to see a surprise title like this between the hugely enjoyable Dark Anthology series. Plus it’s got a great cast in David Arquette, Ted Raimi, the legendary Lin Shaye, Twin Peaks icon Grace Zabriskie and Lance Henrickson who’s no stranger to the genre after appearing in Detroit Become Human. Now they just need to round up the likes of Robert England, Tony Todd, Bruce Campbell, Jeffrey Combs, Brad Douriff and other iconic horror stars. Just imagine, we have such pleasures to show you!

That looks like Eliza - this games version of the curator (Dark Pictures). It’s interesting because in the Dark pictures games, the curator often appears right before death situations. Maybe the same will happen in this game. If you have a quick eye you could avoid your players dying

Love the Until Dawn mystery vibe. Unlike Man of Medan where 30 mins in you already know what your up against and its just boring and predictable. Can't wait for this one.

The Medium is not survival horror genre, it's an horror adventure.
And it has a better story than most other horror titles.

The Sheriff was easily the best character in the game.

Calling it now, it's about Hillbilly werewolves hunting people at night that at first seem like just regular hillbillies.
I've also got the werewolf vibe, had it since cop showed up, but the ending panning up to the giant moon really cemented it.

Love the Until Dawn mystery vibe. Unlike Man of Medan where 30 mins in you already know what your up against and its just boring and predictable. Can't wait for this one.

This is how you do game trailers/promote games. All thee State of Plays and other showcases with their nonsensical cut scene flashes and cheesy voice overs. THIS is how you get people intrigued, just show some damn gameplay from an interesting portion of the game.
