  • On the episode of #TBWD, the Islay Region Bunnahabhain Ceobanach Batch #3, NAS, released at 46.3% is opened and reviewed. This Single Malt Scotch Whisky from Bunnahabhain is so different from other Bunnahabhain expressions that it is easily identifiable as an Islay SMSW. With deep earthy notes and a lightly sweet ending the guys relax and enjoy this dram. Malcolm tries hard to find a flavor he can’t quite identify and Colin feels confident in his choice to pair with a smoked oyster. We hope you enjoy this episode. Cheers!

I've never heard Bunnahabhain pronounced the way you say it, where did it come from? - Never seen this bottling around.

Well, you've done it now...I've been searching for the origin of our pronunciation (bunna ha veen) and I'll I can come up with is (bunna ha venn)...so, for that we raise a glass to you and our ever evolving journey of education. Cheers mate!

Glad to see your review of this one. It's one of my favorite whiskys and I'm glad I snagged a second bottle (still unopened) when I first tried it a couple of years ago. Still working on the first one, it's something to be drunk a wee dram at a time. Smoky, stinky, earthy Islay whisky, but with the sweet undercurrent that you described.

We agree...this whisky is an excellent match of dirt, smoke, and sweet...Very good to hear you have experience with it as well, and that you had the same impression(s). Cheers!!
