Roy, you’ve really outdone yourself this time. Fantastic video, utterly fantastic! Super quality from start to finish. Any TV producer would be more than proud of that. I raise my glass to you sir, for an excellent job.🥃
Amazing video Roy! A fantastic one to watch while I enjoy my first few drams from the inaugural release. It’s an incredible whisky and extremely exciting to see what they’ll bring us in the future.
SO well done Roy! Thank you very much for this fantastic video! I’ve had the absolute pleasure to visit the Ardnahoe Distillery while it was being built with Jim McEwan, and just back in April right after they officially opened. This is a must visit Distillery when visiting Islay! The people are fantastic, the views are spectacular! Now we just have to be patient for the Spirits! Slàinte! 🥃
Wonderful video of the newest distillery on Islay. Great commentary and interviews with the owner. Wish them and Jim McEwen the best of luck and sucess. Enjoy your videos and recycle reviews.
Thank you Roy for sharing your time at Ardnahoe, and at the beginning you were wondering why they did not bring everyone to the distillery first, I surmise that they wanted to tell their story to make a personal connection with their customers. Hunter Lang looks to have built something to last and add to the heritage of Islay. Cheers on a spectacular video on one of the bright stars in the Scotch world!
Incredible video Roy, you are truly going to be the David Attenborough for the whisky world with your commentary and presentation. I'm hoping to return to islay and visit them in the future but first pop up to Glasgow and visit yourself, wish you and the family a lovely Easter! Slainte
Amazing report, Roy, well done ! And the image quality is awesome...The distillery location & still room are awesome too I have to say... One thing you might not have noticed though I think, and this is because you're not French (lol), it's that you had in your press visiting group the most impressive & talented whisky writer from France (but living in Islay for almost a decade) = Martine Nouet ! (also an expert in whisky & food pairing) -it's the blonde woman with short hair, a black jacket & orange scarf, Roy-and a worldwide whisky expert for sure. Besides, glad you have tasted the first liquid efforts from the distillery & told us there were some encouraging feelings for the future. Slainthe, Roy & thanks for sharing !
Roy, this was a nice video with some great insight and information on the new Ardnahoe Distillery on Islay. As you know, I had a chance to stop by Ardnahoe a couple of times during my recent Islay visit and I was quite impressed with what I saw and heard. The Laing family seems very committed to producing some fine Islay Whisky. Cheers !
Wow, what an absolutely beautiful video, Roy! Of course, the idyllic Islay landscapes, stunning built-into-nature architecture, and a beautifully designed distillery certainly helped! But this was very well written/narrated and edited. Great interview as well. Cheers!
Beautifully presented video Roy! Informative and tantalizing look into what is already a beautiful distillery & what will hopefully become a fantastic whisky down the road.
Tremendously wonderful! Thank for bringing us all along with you! I can't get over the view from the still house and the moment of quiet contemplation as everyone sampled their 3 month old spirit. Brilliant job, Roy!
Wow! They sure treated you well Roy - what an experience. Some of that construction footage was incredible too. Excited to sample the fruit of their labours. My heart sank a little bit when I walked up to those doors in March and they were locked 😉 Thanks for sharing!
Really great video Roy, thank you for the visit! I'm glad to see they seem to have done well. And as Caskmate - Everything Whisky said, yep, you're perfect to narrate a whisky documentary. Well done.
Hey Roy very cool video, absolutely love these types of videos and getting some great behind the scenes. Every whiskey lover should enjoy this, Thank you for sharing! Cheers!
Brilliant well done Roy, a friend and I visited Ardnahoe on the 29th August this year, it was one of only three newly reopened for visitors after the first Covid lockdown. We had what was almost a private tour, only four others with the group. Lovely everything, high quality and customer centric specialists, I had to later change a shirt I purchased and nothing was too much trouble. Can't wait to buy a bottle or more in two years time. Your work and efforts on Utube are fantastic, other than Ralfy you are my small whisky tasting group and my favourite. Keep up the good work, regards JH
Aye, Roy, I'm 51 years old, I will wait anxiously for Ardnahoe expressions. I can't promise that I will do so patiently. Cheers! Thank you for this video.
I loved watching the birth of all these new distilleries and not just Ardnadhoe. In the end it's all about the juice and Ardnadhoe is in good hands. I hoping the spirit is just left alone to get on with quality Bourbon casks to let those worm tubs shine. Cheers Roy and a outstanding video.
Roy, Sir if I was the queen of England I would honor you as the Knighthood. The video is an inspiration to me. I have Islay as one of my spots to visit, and this brewery will be on my list. Thank you.
Yet another fabulous video. Last time I passed the site was two years ago when there was little more than a sign telling the world that the distillery was coming soon. To see it now, it’s quite amazing at how much has been crammed into those 24 months. The time-lapse shot showing the cloud shadows roll across the landscape made me want to head over there right now! Fortunately, I’ll be visiting Ardnahoe in July - and I really can’t wait. Thanks for the video, Roy. Perfect.
Phenomenal video Roy, thank you. It'll like be a very very long time before I get the chance to visit islay, so I really love seeing these videos. And I'm quite excited to see what comes off the line for them in a few years... hopefully their initial offerings will make it to my neck of the woods in the US!
Roy! This was just outstanding! Came home after a long work day today and just stood in the kitchen watching this with a dram. It was just wonderful to get away to an Islay distillery for a few moments. It was beautifully done and brought a smile to my face. Thank you to all involved in sharing this. It truly made my day. 😀
Superb video and editing as always, Roy! Ardnahoe excites me - can't wait to try their Whisky! The distillery and accompanying visitors centre and restaurant looks great.
Very well done production Roy. One advantage these folks are going to have is they can have that shoppe full of outstanding Whisky of all ages on sale while the spirits made there can age away without the economic necessity to bottle product that is not ready. Cheers
Had the privilege to visit Ardnahoe recently... I couldn’t agree more Roy, this is a distillery designed very closely to perfection. Look forward to trying the whisky in due time
Can’t believe I missed this. Got to stop there but not a full tour. That water is so clean and clear. Can’t wait to their aged releases. Nice visitors center and restaurant with a beautiful view.
I think your'e one of the better vloggers out there and the one's on Islay are real magic! But the current trend for many vloggers is to do these long winded 1-3 hr streams. I personally don't have the time or attention span for those,so I don't watch them. I hope you and others do a 15-30 min vlog from time to time so I can keep watching! Keep up the excellent work!
My wife and I drove by in April of 2018, on our way to Bunnahabhain, while the distillery was still under construction. It certainly is in an amazingly, stunningly beautiful location! We thought about stopping by Ardnahoe's store at Islay House, but we got caught up at the neighboring brewery and ran out of time before our tour of Bruichladdich. Once home I looked into purchasing a cask from Ardnahoe, but the thing that ultimately made me decide against it was that they won't promise that your cask will stay on Islay while it ages. With the prices they were asking, that was the deal breaker for me.
It's interesting watching the Laing brothers and what they're doing with their parts of their father's legacy. Stewart has set up Ardnahore distillery on Islay whereas Fred has bought Strathearn distillery and is building a new distillery in Glasgow.
Hey Roy,,what an jncredible watch,,when the stories were being told by the lock and then we start to go slowly to the distillery,,the music starts,,i honestly had goose bumps,,fantastic stuff, cheers and merry christmas my friend,🥃🥃
Well done, I think I need to get an official Aqvavitae Tam o' Shanter hat now ;) Talk about million dollar views! Things are looking promising for the new distillery. My fingers are crossed as well.
Awesome vid, Roy! Sorry it took so long to get to this, but catching up to the leading edge is hard to do after being absent from watching for two weeks for the most part... This is such a wonderful video, I really was struck by the quality and how you put it all together. I am really looking forward what will be coming out of Ardnahoe. I think I will watch it again...and again...and again...
Amazing..I'm looking forward to there product. This distillery fits you Roy. Forward thinking and with the upmost respect to the past and future of scotch whiskey. Well done sir...well done
Brilliant video Roy. I was totally enthralled. It's nice to see a new distillery from the ground up. We're so used to well established old veterans, and as someone who is relatively new to whisky...it means we all will get to experience what Ardnahoe will be putting out, at the same time. Good taste in cushions too by the way. We've got that fox wan! 😂
Roy, you are truly setting a standard for whiskey UA-cam, brilliant! Excellent job sir! ^^v makes me want to fly across the pond and share a few with you.
Wow,,another fantastic watch, this is something you do very very well,,keep them coming Roy,when is the next empties review coming,,get drinking and sharing that whisky my friend,,cant wait, all the best,,pete.

Thank you my friend - really nice words!
Hard to believe this is five years old, and now we have our first official bottling to try. Amazing looking place.
One word...Netflix Can't wait until they hire you or start a show based on what you're doing. We could totally watch this and more. Simply amazing...

Roy, great feature on Ardnahoe was lucky enough to tour it in 2021. Fantastic distillery on a wonderful island filled with lovely people.
Amazing video Roy! A fantastic one to watch while I enjoy my first few drams from the inaugural release. It’s an incredible whisky and extremely exciting to see what they’ll bring us in the future.
Thanks for sharing your time and experience at Ardnahoe. Awesome video. 🤙
Thank you Juan!
This is just an amazing video. Can't wait to taste this glorious liquid being distilled at Ardnahoe. Thanks for this Roy!
Thanks Jason - great to have you stopping by. Let's have a reaction video when you try your first sip! ;)

A fantastic video Roy! Thanks for taking us on your Ardnahoe journey. Looking forward to their 1st releases. I just can’t wait to head back to Islay!
You whiskey tubers are putting out better quality videos then Hollywood
Not quite, but I'll thank you for your compliments. Slàinte Moose!
By far the most polished presenter on UA-cam. Lovely footage and audio, as always Roy. Excited to see what they produce. 👍
Time will tell Paul, maybe we'll find out together!
Great job Roy. I hope the future allows you more opportunities like this. You deserve it👍
Thanks Andrrew, for taking the time, and the nice words!

By delaying the visit to the distillery, they were "cultivating desire" as we sometimes say in marketing. It worked! ;) Thanks Mose!
I’m looking forward to taste their first matured whisky... so, I’ll be waiting, 8,9,10 years... Thanks Roy!
Incredible video Roy, you are truly going to be the David Attenborough for the whisky world with your commentary and presentation. I'm hoping to return to islay and visit them in the future but first pop up to Glasgow and visit yourself, wish you and the family a lovely Easter! Slainte
Cheers Jason, a gentleman as always! There are a few Attenboroughs in whisky already, I'll still be the guy who chucks empties in the bin! 🤓
JasonWhiskyWise oooh... and happy Easter to you too! 🐣
You are truly a master of making great videos like this one! Thanks for giving us a look at the new distillery!
Hope you get to visit one day Dylan, Islay is really special.
Aqvavitae would be an incredible trip for sure!

Martine was lovely, a very knowledgable and elegant lady. I had a flick through her book while I was there too - "a table". A pleasure to meet her!
@@Aqvavitae oh cool !
Another top quality story Roy, so impressed and proud of the journey you are on. Keep it up!
Another great Islay video Roy. Your approach is very genuine and your passion for whisky shines through. Well done!

The construction footage and some other professional shots were (perhaps obviously!) contributed by Ardnahoe. Thanks for watching and commenting Ben!
Great piece capturing the first steps. Will be interesting to look back in 5 - 7 years
Yeah, for me too!
Really great video Roy, thank you for the visit! I'm glad to see they seem to have done well. And as Caskmate - Everything Whisky said, yep, you're perfect to narrate a whisky documentary. Well done.
I prefer UA-cam ;) Thanks Christophe!
Nice tour and information! Thanks for putting the time and effort into making this video. Excited to see their products hit the market in the future
We're all patiently waiting with excitement. The future is getting brighter for the malt enthusiast.
It just hit me: Roy is the MKBHD of whisky. Everything done with excellence and the utmost professionalism. Fabulous videos - always.
Ooooft. Blushing - but thank you!
5 years later with their The Inaugural Release out for sale i must say they seems to have met our high expectations. It is a wonderful dram!

I'll go to Islay as many times as I'm permitted! Thanks Ray!
Lovely video, Roy. Sublime really. Excellent shots, poetic narration. You did an amazing job representing Ardanhoe.
Thanks Dakota.
Another Fantastic Video! Very excited for the offerings!
Me too Zach, hope the whisky gods treat us!
Awesome vid, Roy! Sorry it took so long to get to this, but catching up to the leading edge is hard to do after being absent from watching for two weeks for the most part... I was right there stopping at that loch on the way back from Bunnahabhain and unfortunately there was no time to visit Ardnahoe (and I believe it was still closed to visitors) as on that same afternoon the tour that I was on was going to squeeze in Kilchoman. The next time I visit Islay, I will go on my own because now I know what I want to see... I will have a hard time waiting seven or eight (or maybe ten or eleven years because new things take some time to get here) to try some mature Ardnahoe whisky... Thanks Roy - excellent insight into this new distillery - Love your excitement!
Thanks Jason, hope you get there soon. It's a great spot.
Another excellent video, Roy! Your Islay videos inspire me to make the journey to the promised land. I can't wait for more!
Thanks Brandon. Take that journey.

I dunno though, I think I’m more excited about visiting the more historic ones - but my dad will want to go to ardnahoe for the cafe hahaha

Great review Roy -- we drove by the construction on the way to Bunny.
I hope to return to Islay in 2010 and stop in for a visit on my way to Jura. Looking forward to trying the finish product one day.
If you return to Islay in 2010 - pick me up one of the early editions of Kilchoman and a couple of cheap Bruichladdichs. :p

Thanks Roy - one month to go and I should be there. Great video to show my family where I will be travelling to
Love to hear what you think about it Michael!
Forced the tour guide to change the itinerary. Got there. Not disappointed, and mentioned your vlog. They were chuffed
