Great video….must be nice meeting up with friends 👍🏻 and another robbo 👍🏻 looked like a great weekend away and some much needed chilling…love how quiet it was there….could listen to the birds and sounds of the bush all day…..awesome thanks for sharing guys 🇦🇺🦘🪃
Thanks mate! It was so nice to see them again, you really meet some great people on the road. Nothing better than the peaceful sounds of the bush is there? Love listening to the cockatoo's and the magpie call's it really is just so relaxing.
@@RoaminintheRobbo i can imagine mate the sounds will be alien to us so hopefully I record the birds singing 👍🏻 if I’m up early enough 😂 have to put the alarm on 👍🏻 and hopefully which I’m sure we will meet up with some nice people…gunna need them for when we’re lost and starving 😂 we can’t cook either 😳 that pork looked 😋 on the ziggy a great bit of kit and of course not to forget the chef (Miranda) great job 👍🏻
@Neil-clare nothing better than the bird sounds in Oz also all the great people you will meet on the road. Such a great community spirit out there you will never be stuck somewhere. The ziggy has been such a great addition to the camper, the pork belly in it is just divine! 🤤
Oh shame your trip is coming to an end, always depressing heading home isn't it 😕 hope you had a great trip and you have another one in the pipeline to look forward to! Thanks mate, glad we could ease some of the pain of going home 😂 safe travels!
Lovely episode, thanks for sharing. "Easter", no wonder the place was so busy, will definitely be giving that one a try over the next few months. Never saw anything like those ant trails on that scale before, wow!
Definitely worth checking our! Even though it was Easter and busy the place was still very peaceful so I can just imagine when it is not a long weekend it would be even more magic! Yeah have never seen the ant highways before but these things were pretty serious, nature is so cool! Hope all is well mate and your arm had healed OK so you can get back out camping 🏕
Would be a lovely spot once the rains have greened it up a bit. It has been a long dry summer here for sure. Back in the day you could catch the limit of crabs (big ones too) in 20 minutes right where you guys were crabbing in the vid (around 14 mins). In fact we used to drag prawn nets there at night and the number of crabs that used to get in the prawn nets was astounding. Had to let them all go as you weren't allowed to catch them that way. Used to be able to net for mullet there too. Things have certainly changed since then.
Would be stunning once it greens up, such a beautiful property. Yes I believe back in the day it was much easier to get the crabs and of bigger size as well. Don't know if this comes down to people taking crabs that aren't of size or what? But regardless it is still a fun way to pass some time 😊😊
Because they both shed bark I always thought Gum and Arbutus trees were related, but they are not. ua-cam.com/video/Pq46wGdWUEI/v-deo.htmlsi=Q4CUTKKTI_qMMUzW
The host had designated spots on the property where you can camp, but each of those spots gave you space from other campers which was great. The campers right next to us, are our friends we were away with for the weekend 😊
The crabbing season runs 1st December to 31st August. Whenever we have gone in January we have always done much better and the crabs were bigger. We should go down one Jan and see if we can have any luck 😁🦀🦀
Rule of thumb, any month with an 'r' in the name but the warmer weather is better, November-February. Rules on where you can crab vary from time to time. Always best to check with Fisheries.
Can’t believe you caught crabs that size on a weekend away , was you that desperate to catch such small crabs , in my book you would do that when your desperate for food 🤔🤔🤔
Unfortunately we didn't have the luck of getting any huge crabs, but we only took ones that were of legal size. Regardless of how big there were they were still absolutely delicious 🤤

Ya got 100 Acres but camp right on each others doorstep?

Is there a crabbing season or can you do it year round?
