Good guide, thanks.. One thing I've seen people being confused about and rightly so, because it's not explained anywhere I saw - when you select a template for key bindings, you're not selecting the actual "Gamepad mode" key bindings, if you have them customized. You're selecting a template based on how the gamepad mode is set up out of the box. So if you have some buttons remapped in the gamepad mode - when you're setting up a new game and select the "gamepad" template in its profile, don't expect your custom remaps from gamepad mode to transfer over. What I do instead as workaround is, I set up a "default game" to my liking (I use steam launcher for this, mostly), and then apply that "default game" as the template for new games during their profile setup. FYI - all your existing game profiles show up as available templates after you set them up the first time. Please note that when you make any changes to e.g. the Steam launcher key bindings after using it as a template, those changes don't get applied to previously set up games retroactively - it only applies current steam bindings as they are at the time when you're setting up the new game. AC has ways to do many things out of the box and if you understand how they work, I find that I almost don't need 3rd party solutions so far.. But it could really benefit from a proper user guide with proper explanations. I hope the above helps someone to feel less confused 🙂
Ive resorted to running everything through steam (even Armory crate) as the deadzone is way too noticeable with default settings. I really hope they patch it
This might seem like a dumb question but At 8:20, when you say you set fan speeds (for lesser watt modes) the same way as 25 W mode do you mean for 10W mode your settings are at 10w accross tje board or is it still 25W? I'm not nitpicking i just don't want to assume and screw it up ty
Thanks for the video, for me when I set a custom manual one, give it a name and assign it to the game. None of the fan curves or TDP settings seem to save they change by the default. Gone in and tried several times and they don't save. Anyone got this issue. Ally is fully upto date.
How do you decide what profile to use for what game? I get the NES and SNES type games are going to use the lowest setting but how do you decide for more modern stuff?
My biggest issue is emulation, there is no way to set a per rom TDP which can be done through steam on steam deck. For example, psp would need a 10w running through RetroArch while snes would need 5w. Armory won't recognize "you are now playing god of war" "now you are playing super mario" . It will only recognize that you are playing RetroArch and will waste battery life on games that does not needs it. And tbh it's annoying setting the tdp every single time I open a game.
Have you actually noticed significantly higher power draw on the battery if you leave the tdp set to a comfortable value that has enough headroom? There’s often this misunderstanding that just because the clock speeds are running high for the cpu or gpu, they are pulling proportionately more watts which is not entirely true. If the cpu and gpu are not being put under too much load for a less demanding game, chances are your actual power consumption will not be much more than what it’ll be if you restrict the power budget by capping the tdp
Wow, this made a big difference to me for games that used to run at 90-95 now at 70-75 which is a massive improvement.

Very helpful. I need to set up more profiles and actually use them haha
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome video Joey!

From 95 to 75 Thanks you very much
holy shit
Nice... mine is not saving the profiles, as soon as I restart, the profile goes back to default.

I hope this helps but yes it’s going to be 10,10,10 with fan 3
This charger work for GPD??

Real quick question, is there a way to have games set at 1080p low while unplugged and then have them automatically go to 1080p high while plugged in?
Really good question, I don't know of a way unfortunately.

Well you can kinda dictate that for what game. Plus being able to change it pretty quickly, you can always adjust

True but the best option really is to just use G-Helper instead of AC. Way easier
