Aww yes. Graham Phillips is literally the man for finding out information about legendary characters. His King Arthur research was stunning and convincing.
I hope your book is progressing well if it is not ready after these three years. The early ballad "A Little Gest of Robin Hood" is surprising to read. For example, the ballad reveals that Robin stood not in Sherwood but in Barnsdale Forest further north during the reign of King Edward "the comely king." The ballad is the first to also tell what kind of rules Robin had for who was allowed to rob and how the money was robbed, for example, Robin did not allow robbing women or anyone who walked in the company of women, for the sake of the Mother Mary. I recommend reading it, along with the ballads "Robin Hood and the Monk" and "Robin Hood and the Potter." Unfortunately, many of the familiar attributes, such as Robin Hood's connection to the Crusades, King Righard, Prince John, nobilit, Maid Marian, and robbing money from the rich for the poor, are only a later development of the character.

The king in the ballad "A Little Gest of Robin Hood" is "Edward our Comely King", but unfortunately does not say who Edward. However, the ballad "Edward our Comely King" gives a hint that it could be Edward who dwelled in the Brabant with his many comely knights and his uncle Sir Phillip of Valois.

“400 square kilometres” / “20 metres” So you are saying that in 14th Century England in Sherwood Forest they measured distances in kilometres and metres? How can you recount an ancient tale of Robin Hood using completely inappropriate and very annoying detail like this?

Wait a second - don't we have records of the authorities (Sheriffs or otherwise) as to who was in charge in this region in the 1200s and 1300s?
