The material used for my workbench is Black MDF: Black MDF, something similar to Valchromat.
I get it from here: (Netherlands) www.af.nl/voorraad/plaat/mdf-... Black MDF.

A few products from this review were sent to me by Banggood for testing. This does not mean that I do get all my products. I review also a lot of products I bought myself. I started these reviews because from my experience not every tool from China was worth buying. So I wanted to make in-depth reviews to show you which products you should consider and which product you better leave alone. The fact that Banggood sent me products occasionally does not change the way I make my reviews.
I still give in-depth reviews and give you my honest opinion! On this, you can count on! I have a good experience with Banggood.com and they have a lot of woodworking tools nicely organized on their site.

Great to have you back! Another genius project very well explained.
Great video, I watched many videos on this subject and I can see you are inspired by many different versions and made it your own. Great to see one from a country fellow. Take care and I look forward to part 2.
Great video! I truly enjoy the care you take in your projects. I have liked your bench for quite some time and am glad you made this video. Looking forward to episode 2.
I love this bench! It is the most versatile and is easily the most attractive. Great video and a fantastic bench. Thank you!
Beautiful job Dennis, very impressive! Thanks very much for sharing!
Yes.Your video is very well made and educational. Also a BIG THANKS for the beautiful plans !!!
Dennis, I'm from Brazil and I follow several channels of foreign personnel, his teaching is exceptional! Congratulations.
Thank you for sharing. I really appreciate your attention to detail and easy to understand techniques.
I’ve been waiting for your next video and I’ve not been disappointed. Love your bench and your attention to detail. Great work.
This was in my recommended feed just prior to a Stumpy Nubs video, glad I watched. Subbed!
Parf guide is awesome, I’m gonna use mine when I build this bench! Love it !
Great video from the best woodworking channel on UA-cam! 😀 I cannot wait for part 2, nice.
Dankjewel!
I ended up at episode 2 first. Excellent instruction from a true craftsman. Thank you for sharing!
I've seen a few youtube videos proclaiming the ultimate workbench, but I think this is a very serious contender for the title. The structure is well thought out and very strong, and I particularly like the tall apron for vertical clamping. An excellent build Dennis, and that black valchromat looks really good. 10 out of ten 👍
Thanks David,
of course it all a bit click bait, but it is definitely, MY ultimate workbench! :-)
@@HookedonWood it’s only click-bait if the video doesn’t live up to the promise. I’m planning to build my version of your bench this spring.
This is your first build video I've watched, been binge watching your china tool series and was impressed with your testing methods. This build video is top notch, you explain each step clearly and consistently, going to watch the second part now.
Dennis, you're a genius! I'm so glad I was led to your channel. The build video is incredible and I love the fact that you use very high end tools along side china tools you've tested and given viewers recommendations on with complete honesty. You're an incredible breathe of fresh air.
Nobody can honestly complain about a small shop EVER. Not with what you're shown is possible. I'm flabbergasted!
Your craftsmanship and skill is truly beautiful and you inspire me to keep growing and building. Thank you!
Danke Dennis 👍🤝
This is soooooo nice. You are a perfectionist extraordinaire. The overall design, I love. The attention to detail, out of this world.
I now understand the value of this style of bench and it has me rethinking my plans for a future build. Thank you!
I am learning a lot from you Dennis. Thank you for taking the time from your busy schedule and sharing with us. Great video.
Thanks Ron!
You are a woodworker who works at the level of a true artist. Thanks for sharing your work and knowledge with us.
What a beautiful work table. Amazing job!
Dear Dennis
Compliments !!!
all you do is fantastic!
Greatings from Serbia
Roberto
Thank you so much, Dennis, for making such an excellent video to show us how you made your amazing workbench! I hope that I will achieve a great result when I build mine. I am going to do some smaller projects first to practice some basics before tackling your impressive workbench build. You are truly an inspiration to the viewers of your channel. May God bless you!
Brilliant your idea of an apron fully square to the top !
Dennis Absolutely Brilliant , thank you for sharing your skills and techniques . your attention to detail and checking is 10/10
Awesome bench! Very good work and attention to detail. Definitely saving this video. Great job
Been woodworking for 40 years, 1:52 in I see dovetail clamps on a Paulk style side board , brilliant !
Thanks for choosing "MY ultimate ..." as haeder. Most UA-camr I saw sell their solution as Non plus Ultra for Everyone. The truth is, that each Woodworker has its own personal requirements, environments, tools and space to work. In this Videos you give a possible solution to think about and use your ideas to build the visitors own and practical workbench. This is a very good entry to follow up on your work and see things growing.
love the workbench with the router. thanks for sharing.
Beautiful and functional bench and very nice video presentation. Your attention to detail in every step really shows in the final result. I don’t subscribe to many channels, but after watching a couple more of your videos I subscribed immediately. I hope you keep showing us more of your work!
This is awesome. Thanks for sharing the plans and the video.
I love your videos! I always learn so much. Keep up the great work!
Nice work Denis, it looks awesome thanks for sharing it with us.
Holy crab....I built mine to quick. Will keep this video in mind for the next upgrade. Well done Dennis!
Another amazing video!! Thank you for sharing Dennis!! 👏🏼👊🏼👍🏼
Brilliant Dennis. I've missed your videos. Great work!
Well said.
Good to see you back Dennis. Mike
My friend. I agree... it's a wonderful bench. Congratulation!
Perfect working! All parts All details are perfect! The best working in the world!
So nicely done, Dennis! Bravo! 🖖
Yes! I was really waiting for that one, Dennis. :) Thank you for the video!
All the best, Lukas
Hi Lukas, I hope it was worth waiting. Good to see you again!
@@HookedonWood Yes, it definitely was. :) And it is very kind of you to provide free plans - great spirit. I watched so many videos about people building workbenches lately and yours is really outstanding (at least for me) Especially the design with the black mdf fully hits my tastes. Really looking forward to the next part including the router dust extraction. :)
Thank you again and all the best for you.
Lukas
I realy like your workbench and if I’ll Ever have the time to do my own, I‘ll Do it like this.
Thanks for the Plans and the Videos
Your videos are top-notch and your English is amazing.
Always happy to see your videos, so much attention to detail, positive spirit and great ideas for my future workshop :)
Keep on doing what you do so amazingly good.
Thanks Mario,
Like to read your comment!
Very pleased to see that even an operator of your level of skill uses the Glulam method of forming beams and legs. After fighting with square drills and chisels to use solid pine legs recently , i switched to laminated plies to make the legs of my project, and so easy, and yet so accurate, and forming the mortices was a breeze
Great stuff as always. So glad you put the word "MY" in the title. So many videos tout the "Ultimate" without context.
That is exactly why I added this. Of course we all use some kind of click bate to get attention to the video's but claiming it is "the" ultimate was a bit to far for me. :-). But to ad "MY" to it, I found it acceptable! :-)
Thank you for your excellent video and walk through the tools . Now I am hooked on your video
That's a thing of beauty! Really very nice Denis! 👍
Amazing workbench! Love your videos.
Beautifully done! Thanks for this!
Dennis, another great video. Came across this little tip you might be interested in to prevent pieces sliding around when clamping after gluing: Apply glue to the pieces as normal but when putting them together, slide both pieces around each other to both spread the glue evenly and creating an airtight suction grip between them. Then align the edges as desired and put to one side for several minutes before clamping (time will vary according to glue’s specification). During this time the glue will start to absorb and go off slightly, making them very, very difficult to move around or separate. Now when you apply the clamps the pieces will not slide around at all, making it very easy to get the correct clamping pressure without having to worry about mis-alignment! Works like a charm 👍
Over the years I can say I have seen thousands of videos to woodworker from all over the world, but the tools you have are mind blowing!, never seen before!, and you use them professionally too.
p.s. even the colour of your top board never saw such before! 👍👍
That is a beautiful and very functional workbench! Not just the bench your entire shop is Awesome!!! I hope one day to have a shop that looks like yours, hope you don't mind haha. I also have to say that I enjoy your channel very much and appreciate all of information that you give!
Excellent! Thanks so much for sharing - Now I want Black MDF! Great Video
Was thinking the same thing LOL
Very interesting, when you have all the tools first to build it. Obviously you are a skilled craftsman. I take my hat off to you.. thanks for the instructions.
Hi Dennis, quality en perfectionisms in every minute of Your video, thank You for sharing with us. All best to carpenters all over the world! ✌🏻🤟🏻
Awesome build. Looks amazing!
This is incredible. I’m a novice so don’t have the skill to build this but I will certainly work towards it. Amazing bench
I learned plenty of tricks! Keep on making videos bud👍
First time here one look at the shop and I knew I had to click. 👍👍
That's the neatest workshop I've ever seen.
Great bench love what you have done with small shop
Love the table - subbed for the obsessive dedication to accuracy and discipline :D
Great video and great craftsmanship im going to attempt the work bench
Really impressed with your ideas and methods
way to go buddy a new video really awesome thanks !!!!!!!!!!
You are a huge inspiration for me, Dennis !
Dank u Mevrouw :-)
Heel mooi Dennis, heel mooi. Subscribed !
Beautiful work Dennis!
Awesome bench my friend !!!!
I have a hard time finding lumber here in Czech Republic that is not bowed or cupped and I do not have a joiner or planner. This just solved my problem of building my first workbench! I do not know why building from multiple layers of plywood glued together never occurred to me. I am glad I found your channel, Amazing workbench.
Your work is all about quality. Very good vidéos. Félicitations pour le beau travail !
I like this bench and the glu-lam style construction. It's also very cool that you give the plans away free. You deserve more views than you get. I watch all the woodworking channels
Well done, Dennis! Greetings from Germany!
Beautiful bench!
I am just starting now, that I am retired, to work with wood, and I follow many bloggers but let me tell you that you are head and shoulders above for precision and for a great aesthetic taste.
It does look awesome!
Wat een top video, mooie werkbank!
Definitely one of the best workbenches I've ever seen. I would have to win a lotto to buy all the tools and clamps you have, but I noticed my cheap workbench has a dust collector. I would call mine the Supreme Ultimate Workbench. A little nosier with the collector on but not much cleanup and great for breathing in the shop...
Well done, and yes, I made it that far! Scott
Nicely done, thank you.
Bedankt!
Love this video, attention to detail is amazing…. 😮
Just a tip for more precision and to ensure that the holes in the top panel and apron are perfectly aligned and that the edges of the table/apron are also aligned with the 20mm holes grid: Assuming the top and apron can be made from the same sheet of MDF/Ply/etc, drill the grid of holes for both pieces first, and then use the grid of holes to position the tracksaw while first cutting the ends of the top + apron and finally when separating the top from the apron. Of course drilling and cutting on a CNC is another option!
Hi Francois,
You make a good point. My shop is too small to do this as one piece. But watching my own video I think it would be more secure to actually align the two pieces with the dog holes before glueing them together. I did it with the sides, but if your goal is, a perfect alignment why not using that what matters. If this means a bit difference at the sides, well, then we solve that problem later.
Thanks for your comments. Good thinking!
I didn’t know there was black mdf. I love the look of that. Thanks
Groet, Hans
Thanks Hans, Ik hoop deel twee volgende week vrijdag online te zetten.
God this channel is sooooooooo high quality and just absolutely jam
Packed with priceless information and the products you make are stunning and on another level, truly professional stuff. I hope one day to be on your level my friend. Your shop organization video caught my attention because I’ve been struggling to fit all my stuff into my one car garage and then I saw your absolute masterpiece of organization that you call your workshop and I instantly knew that mine could be done. Thank you, truly in all sincerity, thank you, it was starting to really, really frustrate me. You definitely have a subscriber here.
Thanks Justin, your comment is very motivating for me! Thanks😊😊
Very nice Denis Thanks !
I love watching your videos simply because you have such a small workshop. What you've done in the space you have is simply outstanding. Thanks for sharing. And for anyone who voted this down, get a life!
Sir your an amazing woodworker and thanks sharing
GREAT VIDEO!
Very good, thanks! Subscribed!
