I am AngelTompkins the actress in the "hey Doll Kroger commercial. this was made 1967-1968 airing because I was able to get my SAG card to do it. I am still working, see IMDB and I am a Golden Globe Nominee living in Los Angeles, writing a book called The First Clue, Auto-Biography, and was happy to get the work so I could earn enough to take care of myself and 4 year old son Troy Tompkins and to pay to move myself to LA to do the work my inner wisdom said I was supposed to do, act and create for the rest of my life with active learning every day oI my life. I am one of five generations of stolen children and that is a book in the making as well. I do wish someone could fine the Cleo winning commercial I did for Wrigley Gum dancing in a parade in Chicago wearing a plaid shirt from the Milway Cataloge out of Michigan I was their contracted model as a first partner in inventing one garment to a page that never happened before but Sears copied. lots of love and Joy, light the world with your good deeds and kindness, be strong and say hello first to a stranger in the Gym. Pj.S. I am still working and auditioning in Los Angeles, I will never stop and this is the year 2017 (see ATT Business spot, Penelope, 2016) on the internet...Thanks to Pete Sipes that sent this to me...on facebook.
Great job Angel. Nowadays you could get rich calling Gloria Allred and filing a lawsuit against Kroger for calling you "doll". you were a "doll" by the way.
I just love the way that store looks & all of those classic products, too. Now if I could just find my time machine I would go back to 1968 hop into my red or yellow 1968 Chevy Biscayne , have about $ 300.00 & buy out the store. First I would head for the cereal aisle & buy all of the classic Post, Kellogg,s Big G cereals. Then I would head for the snack aisle & buy all of the super large bags of all of the classic Frito-lay products. Next to the candy aisle & I would pick up 6 packs of all of the classic Nestle's , Hershey's , M&M Mars & Butternut candy bars.Next it's to the ice cream section , where I would get as many classic Sealtest ice cream products possible. Then to the meat aisle where I would get lots of Swift's Premium meats. All of their 80 different kinds of cold cuts, T-bone , porterhouse, sir loin steak, along with lots of their chicken. Next to the soft drink aisle , where I would stack up on all of the Funny Face & Kool-aid soft drink mixes. Then its on to the cola aisle , where I would sock up on all of the large glass bottles of Coke. Then I would head for home ,get my big stack of classic DC & Marvel comics, sizzle one of those great big steaks, cook a pile of frozen french fries , pop open a large Coke, pig out read & have a ball , anyone care to join me?
was wondering when the store got its oval sign and logo after finding out it once had a square one in 1950s and in our area they have a square signs again.
Kroger is the best the store brands are good ice cream is great bread sticks with mozzarella is the bomb they know what they are doing other stores watch out even Walmart it the Kroger card the statistics will kill the competition

Kroger owns and operates Fry's Food and Drug in Arizona, with the same Kroger brands (and store layout) found around the country.
Sadly, "Hey Doll" in today's world would be considered sexist.
Good

My son works for Krogers. :-)

Love to see an old Dominick's or Jewel commercial from this decade. To bad they don't exist.
Back before their commercials were lower than low

Was this store in a American state or was it from the southern states. ?
Are you sure 1968 is the right year? Certainly one who was around should know but I emailed them once and they said 1971.
