Yes direct to the wall socket. it has a 2 pin plug power cable like desktop pc power cable. once electrode stuck with a brass pipe i was making from a 20 gauge sheet, welding spots at high power and high ms (1 inch diameter & 20 inches long), then it shutdown by itself by beeping. then i turned off its power button at the back side of a welding unit and after few seconds when turn on again and it starts again. so i think there is a also safety feature in it. The body of a welding unit is big not for a design but there are so many Electronic components in it and this unit is heavy. this unit is 220 volts and there is also 110 volts made for usa and other countries.
