I gotta admit, the part starting at 13:07 where first the Marauder Horsemen, then the dragon ogres, then the Marauders all charged Be'lakor one at a time, and all immediately lost their nerve and turned tail before even touching him (with the exception of like two or three dragon ogres who got in a single hit each before turning tail and running), was especially hilarious. "CHARGE!!!... NEVER MIND, RETREAT!!!"
Those dragon ogres being stuck in combat with armor-piercing infantry the entire battle was how he lost. They were so low HP when they finally got stuck into a large target that they broke instantly.
Belakor looked like he was just stun locking Archie in that last little blob. He spammed like, 10 attacks in a row and Archie looked like he couldn't even turn to target. Poor guy.
The advantage to tightly packed formations is twofold; prevents, or at least makes it far more difficult for enemy models(be it inf, cav, whatever) to force path through the unit, and makes it less likely that any individual model engaged in melee will become flanked and 2v1'd, as there isn't the room. But yeah, probably still not worth it.
The formation mixing is often desirable, like in the case of a cavalry charge. Cavalry so often gets their charge bonus off, but then gets surrounded, stuck in melee, and loses value in the grind. And considering that many if not most models in an infantry formation aren't in fighting range, one of the greatest strengths of infantry in their high model count isn't put to use in tight formations.
Belakor's status as absolute final boss of Land Battles confirmed, but it was incredible watching a Keeper of Secrets in a SEM fight and getting absolutely obliterated.
I can't believe how good Archaon looks dude, and the VFX when he swings his sword is SICK. That's the kinda dialed to 11 type shit Warhammer needs, effects in general look amazing in 3, can't wait to see how much better blood looks too
True, I really didnt appreciate the blood DLC until I went back to warhammer 2 to sate my apetite for the mortal empires factions and seeing the absolute bloodbath and dismemberment that went on.
I don’t know if it will be SUPER SENSATIONAL, but we can expect the blood to look pretty good considering this is the newest title. If the new VFX are anything to go on I’m thinking the new bloodbaths will truly be glorious.
@@johannesjrgensen440 I mean in the blood for the blood god trailer, Skarbrand and his blood bulls literally incinerate the kislevites into blood showers.

Gods-damned that was a fun game. And a very interesting one. Also a very beautiful one. Those slightly updated Chosen models are delicious. As is Be'lakor. As in Archaon and Dorghar. As are all the models lol
I'm torn here because on one hand Be'lakor should be insanely powerful... but defeat Archaon fully buffed up so that he generates no more value than a band of peasants powerful? I don't know, maybe they just need to buff Archaon but to me that looked sad. WoC probably should have won here.
It's really just the ward save that tips the balance. I wouldn't be surprised to see a nerf to shadow shroud and gold cost, but I hope CA takes the scalpel approach because Belakor should stay a worldbeater.
Pit of Shades being busted is pulling a lot of weight here. Be'lakor would probably have lost that infantry/cavalry grind if he was engaging full-health units with support, but he can soften them up so much beforehand and if they overcommit and blob up (which would help stabilise morale and prevent terror routs) he can drop a pit on everything. Weaker Pit would mean that he has to work a bit harder for terror routs and his healing is a little further out of reach, which would make his melee less overwhelming. He could probably do with a cost increase too though. He can bring a bit too much army for how much of a 1-man-army he is.
It's amazing just how much balance of power Belakor gives. I think this battle shows that regular Keepers need some sort of health regeneration mechanic like the Exalted Variants imo.
As always, the battle is awesome, well filmed and featuring great commentary (You have a great voice for this type of work imo, some people, like myself, have voices that are not easy to listen to for prolonged times. Yours is a great 'radio' voice, imo.). But I also have to say, Halo's sound track is always a great, great choice. It baffles me that the TV show chose to forgo it (amongst its other terrible decisions lol). Thanks for the content!
It hurts when I see people charging demonettes through a frontline to attack, they should be used like cavalry for outflanking and rear attacks, they have the speed for it and a massive boost to rear and flanking attacks.
Archeon should have a in battle "Ascent to Deamonhood" mechanic, like Malus when he turns into Tz'arkan. Maybe after racking up a certain number of kills.
Makes me want Aenarion as a LL so god damn badly, he'd fuckin' body Be'lakor so hard his 40k counterpart would feel it. I imagine that his melee stats would have to be obscured behind a mosaic filter due to their entirely pornographic nature.
