Solar Eclipse with the Chickens 4-8-2024 "plus" an Eclipse Treat!

Today we sit in our front yard to watch the solar eclipse which is a once in a lifetime event. Because of our location the eclipse will only be 96.6% and not totality. We are close where totality was to happen but that would have entailed us driving about an hour and a half north of here. But we decided to view the eclipse of 2024 from the comfort of our home, along with the chickens.

I was, home at the time. Unfortunately I was inside through most of it on the phone with a supplier.
However when I did step out I noticed it was dead quiet which is never the case here. It amazes me how the birds and other animals know something is going on!

Yes, it was dead quiet here too. The birds had gone quiet and so did my chickens. They sensed something was coming.
