Surely justice is blind if a killer serves only six years for killing an innocent girl and leaving her decaying body for her mother to discover in her OWN HOUSE.
The prisons are overpopulated. They build new ones and they are filled quickly. Some states allow for good time i.e. early release. The convict must be approved by the parole board first and have a home plan. The remainder of the sentence is finished on parole and if the parolee commits a new crime they go back to prison. When I was 17 I got caught with a joint of weed. I got 2 years probation 30 years ago. My second DUI got me 3 years upstate. They justice system sucks but if you don't break the law you won't have to go through the system. Most of the crazy drug sentences are due to getting caught multiple times. If you keep doing the same crime you'll get more time for the same offense as you accrue points on your record.

In the case of Andre Jones...the rapid eye blinking of the prison doctor and the head of the department of public safety when they were telling their version of events indicates deception. Their own bodies give them away. Normal eye blinking is much slower and much less frequent when telling the truth.
That isn't quite true. Body language is something that takes years to master and without knowing an individual's usual behavior you have nothing to compare the eye blinking against. My legs, for example, bounce around when I'm seated. I've been accused of being nervous or hiding something when there's nothing further from the truth. If rapid blinking was a great indicator of deception it would be used in court rooms.
