The average listener who isn't fanatical about production literally wouldn't care.

Stereo field is probably the most important part of layering knowing the difference between what layers are in the center of the field(mono) and what are on the sides(stereo) just another tip!

This guy is actually teaching. My music production problem (and attitude) is being changed for the better

Yeah, most youtubers will just teach you crap, this channel is better than most. Then I also like to watch livestreams, specifically by monsters such as Dr.Ozi and Nasko, they show you their entire process of making a song from absolute scratch, so there's nothing edited out of the videos. You see their sound design, their processing, their mixing, their layering, their arrangement etc. Sometimes they also run into an idea they don't like, and show you how to turn a bad sounding idea into something that's actually good.
Everybody runs into those moments when they make something they don't like (yes, even the best producers), but don't let that demotivate you and make you think that you can't get yourself to sound like the well known artists and then stop making music cause you feel like you're not good enough. These guys show you that it is a struggle for everyone and that you must grind your song, grind for good chords, grind for good basses, ground for good melodies, sound design, arrangement, mixing etc. You're not just gonna magically make a top class banger on your first try or within 5mins, that's unrealistic and will never happen no matter how good or talented you are. Work hard, make a lot of sacrifices, put in tons more time and effort and you'll get there, I can promise you that.

I've been producing music for 6 years now and I didn't care much about sound design and stuff - now I start to do a lot of sounds myself. Your channel is really amazing. Simple to understand videos, great music, and I learn a lot. Thank you! 🙏

    - 🎚️ Layering sounds with purpose and intention can significantly enhance the professional quality and fullness of your tracks.
    - 🎹 Choose sounds that complement each other in tone and character to avoid clutter and ensure clarity in your mix.
    - 🎛️ Utilize EQ to carve out space for each layer in the frequency spectrum, preventing clashes and creating a cohesive sound.
    - 🎯 Every layer should serve a distinct purpose, whether adding texture, brightness, or depth to the overall composition.
    - 🌐 Experiment with panning to widen the stereo field and create a richer, more immersive sound experience.
    - 🔊 Use compression and saturation to glue layers together and enhance the unity of your sound.
    - 🎸 Layering diverse elements like guitars and synths requires careful EQ and processing to blend seamlessly and avoid muddiness.
    - 🎤 Critical listening during layering ensures that each added sound contributes positively to the overall character and impact of your track.

Should I use glue compression for melody layering or standard compression? I’m asking because I’m assuming glue compression is ideal for drums but not sure if it applies for other sounds
