- I vlogged my experience visiting the Ohio state capitol to help introduce The Kidfluencer Protection Act! If you've been following Dear Hollywood, you know this is one part of the plan to help protect child performers - state legislation. The road is still long ahead, but feeling grateful for the movement and opportunity. Keep spreading the word!!

This is really amazing and such a great step forward. It's only unfortunate that once a child influencer has become popular, taking their Vlogs down off their main channel after a certain age is almost completely useless if anyone in the community has ever easily downloaded the videos, and can re-upload.

I live in NC (the mountains)…I’m all for this (former teacher who has personally seen the fallout of family vlogging…including a whole school that went on lockdown for an hour because of a stalker spotted. The bullying the child went through was horrendous. I felt like I was putting out fires, instead of really teaching, all year long). I know a state rep.….we went to high school together (at least he *was*…he lives in a different district. Either way, he knows people and stands up for education and the rights of children). Lots of things are filmed here (in both the mountains and on the coast- Wilmington). If you reach out, I can put you in touch. (His name is Sam Searcy. I’m friends with his sister).

@@Ark-ys2up I know many teachers with similar stories (including 4 family members in education-and 6 or 7 close friends. You’d be hard pressed to find a teacher who doesn’t have a negative opinion of family bloggers from their own experience. And they don’t have to be big. This family has less that 30 thousand followers. A reason the bigger family bloggers take their kids out of school is because no one, parents especially, want the kid in a class with their kid. It’s very sad).
Furthered, you’d be hard pressed to find teachers who think kids having social media is an idea. Bullying, and other problems on campus, have sky rocketed since kids started getting Social Media. At the very least, a kid needs a valid ID saying they are 16 to have it. I would argue 18).
You are so well-spoken and careful with your words that I have no doubt you did a great job at that hearing. You also are very well-researched on the topic beyond just your personal experience. I'm glad there is someone like you out there advocating for this.
This video just gave me so much hope. It has been pretty grim these days with what's been circulating online. Thank you so much for doing the work and creating positive change. Such an inspiration.
