Dave Krieg, the Man. 261 TDs, 58.6 percent comp(s), 7 teams, a 101-64 record, started 3 AFC Pro Bowls ('85, '87, '89 ), lead Seattle, Kansas City, Detroit Lions to the playoffs.
Monday night games in Kansas City in the early to mid 1990s were some of the best showcases the NFL had to offer. You could just feel the atmosphere at Arrowhead pulsating through the TV. Chiefs were 8-1 in MNF home games from 1991-97 and you could see why.
This is soooo cool!!!!! I was too little to really appreciate the Chiefs in 92 but now I get to relive these games and share these with my kids and help the appreciate the dynasty the Chiefs are in. Hope they get the three peat!!!!!
this game was played the night before the Stone Temple Pilots released their debut album, Core, and Alice in Chains their second album, Dirt the songs from the albums are now staples of classic rock radio
I live over 300 miles from KC, and have an Uncle that was a season ticket holder for 48 years. I've got to see many games over the years, and this was the first Monday night game I ever got to attend. What a memory!
Agree on both comments. The Raiders, I feel, had a quarterback problem right here, while David Krieg, was pretty good (I mean, if you can trade up for Joe Montana, well, yes!).
Marinovich should have been pulled but Al Davis's ordered him stay in the game for what reason? Its almost as if he instructed his own players to not block for Marcus whenever he was put into the game.
Raiders Marcus Allen and Broncos John Elway complaining about crowd noise and the refs penalizing the crowd for that noise is off the charts hilarious 😂 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Arrowhead easily the best home field advantage at the time. Averaged 50,000 to 70000 or more fans.
The N.A.I.A players krieg from the defunct Milton college and Okoye from Azusa Pacific are doing great. The NFL today needs to scout small schools more.
I agree. I think the 2010 updates to the stadium reduced noise. Also, that old hard turf may have reflected noise better. Sounds crazy, but it's like a house with wood floors compared to a carpeted house. The house with the wood floors resonates sound more.
Todd Marinovich is in his 27th year of pro football. At age 48 he plays for the Southern Cal Coyotes a semi pro team. I think Tom Brady should play to 50 and break George Blanda's record playing till the ripe age of 48 playing from 1948 to 1975.
Amazingly, the Raiders would win their next three games giving up a TOTAL of 13 points to get back in to contention...only to be basically brought back to reality by the eventual Super Bowl champion Cowboys in LA. Raiders would actually beat the Chiefs for one of the only two times in the DECADE late in the 92 season. Just a weird year all around for the Raiders.

1:03:20-I like this run by Barry Word, & what Al Michaels and Frank Gifford had to say about it, especially Frank. It’s a simple gain, but he knows, from experience that football is a team sport!
This proves these clowns on the internet don’t know what they are talking about saying the chiefs had no fans before Mahomes. It’s crazy that Marcus Allen, Eric Dickerson, Ronnie Lott, and Gunther Cunningham we’re on the same team. Gunther Cunningham was actually the DC for the LA Raiders at one point before eventually joining the Chiefs.
A minute into the 2nd quarter the Raiders are up 7-0 and have the ball first and ten at the KC 36. It was their game to lose at that point. And that's precisely what they did. They simply self-destructed for some reason.
Do you have any of these Chiefs games; MNF vs. Raiders 1991 (Final minute TD) MNF vs. Raiders 2003 (Chiefs stop the Raiders at the 1 yard line on the last play) 1993 vs. the Bills at Arrowhead 1993- Marcus Allen's return to the LA Coliseum vs. the Raiders
Chiefs would be simply unbeatable if they had just 50% of this 1992 defense this season in 2018. Chiefs have a NOTORIOUSLY bad Defense this season but yet currently hold #1seed in AFC after 10 games played.
Shit? You gonna tell us bout you're GRANDFATHER'S Raiders teams? Lol... As Chiefs are (28-3) vs AFC West last 5 years. Raiders 1 winning season last 17 years.
Do you happen to have any of the Chiefs' games against the Chargers from 1992? I am a Chargers fan and would be interested seeing them. Let me know. Thanks!
Two guys with concussions sat out a couple of plays and went back in. Lott was sniffing the smelling salts like it was coke to get his head on straight. I bet his brain looks like Swiss cheese now.
Which must have made the sight of Marcus Allen playing for the Chiefs *against* the Raiders the following season all the more difficult for die-hard Raiders fans to deal with emotionally. That was Al Davis' doing, not Marcus'.
I always say that... that was ALL Davis's doings. Marcus was the difference in those games as we missed the playoffs due to being sweep mostly in the 90s by the Chefs (lol)
1:36:37 tyrant referees. It’s virtually impossible to prevent any home crowd from being quiet no matter how much they try and penalize their home team for the loud crowd noise.
I was at that game, and a few others from that era when crowd noise was supposed to be penalized. What did they think would happen when threating a penalty? The crowd just got louder.
Dave Krieg, the Man. 261 TDs, 58.6 percent comp(s), 7 teams, a 101-64 record, started 3 AFC Pro Bowls ('85, '87, '89 ), lead Seattle, Kansas City, Detroit Lions to the playoffs.
Early 90s, when MNF was must watch tv
Absolutely it was really good. Loved the music too.
Man... I love this era of the Chiefs. I was living in KC at the time and followed every game. Still a Chiefs fan today!
It was a great era.. I'm from KC as well
@@rogerblewett5595 Kansas City Chiefs won super Bowl LIV. The drought is over.

What a killer intro! sounds like something from 2012 not 1992 ..exciting and powerful!
Dave Krieg the man, and my favourite Coach Marty Schottenheimer!!
Nothing beats watching a old AFL rivalry game...plus the chiefs playing on the Astro Turf field, I miss the good old days of football
This is soooo cool!!!!! I was too little to really appreciate the Chiefs in 92 but now I get to relive these games and share these with my kids and help the appreciate the dynasty the Chiefs are in. Hope they get the three peat!!!!!

This is great. I love the old Chiefs MNF games! Tough team to beat.
WOW, I love these classic games....when the NFL was legit
I like the fact that you also incudled the Sports Center highlights of the game at the end nice touch.
THE MOST UNDERRATED defense's of all-time. Early 1990s Chiefs defense
helped by that underrated running game that kept them off the field
Agree on both comments. The Raiders, I feel, had a quarterback problem right here, while David Krieg, was pretty good (I mean, if you can trade up for Joe Montana, well, yes!).
Jason Peter's 1991 eagles
I miss Monday Night Football On ABC they Need To Bring it Back
Marinovich should have been pulled but Al Davis's ordered him stay in the game for what reason? Its almost as if he instructed his own players to not block for Marcus whenever he was put into the game.
34:24 for Eric Dickerson’s touchdown

Arrowhead was so loud back then
I agree. I think the 2010 updates to the stadium reduced noise. Also, that old hard turf may have reflected noise better. Sounds crazy, but it's like a house with wood floors compared to a carpeted house. The house with the wood floors resonates sound more.
It's weird to see famous players in different uni's like Ronnie Lott in a Raider uni. I always will remember his as a 49er.
If you can’t hear too bad! Stupid rule back then
dave kreig used to do 50 push ups before every game.
I really love Kansas city chiefs
haven't seen a blimp at a game in years

Todd Marinovich..... So many "what ifs" when it comes to that guy.....
He was on drugs really bad If I recall.

92 and 99
Should be 3 times, Raiders beat the Chiefs in 92, 96, and 99. The losses to the Raiders in 96 and 99 cost them a playoff spot in both years.
NFLMaster09 yep Marcus beat our asses and was the difference in those games 93-97...
U always have the good info manu

I sure miss Frank Gifford. AFC Western Division is something else.
Former ABC now FOX in Birmingham, Alabama (WBRC-TV Channel 6).
I loved The Raiders asking the refs to quiet down the crowd. Such a heel move. Awesome.
I miss this Monday football
Good watch. Thanks for sharing.

Must have been interesting for Bo Jackson to play pro sports in both cities at the same time

Arrowhead is great stadium......let’s go chiefs 👍👍👍
Choked again in 2019! They are jinxed like the Houston Oilers were.
Only the Raiders could have a 3rd down and 43 yards to go... 😆 (1:35:00)
1:41:43 Okoye--BOOM!!! 😅
2:30:41 Wide Right II
The following year the cheifs got montana, just a little too late in his career to make a differnce
Do you happen to have any of the Chiefs' games against the Chargers from 1992? I am a Chargers fan and would be interested seeing them. Let me know. Thanks!
they skipped the mnf theme at the beginning smh
Is there anyway possible you have the Oct 15, 2001 game on Monday NIght Football of the Cowboys Vs Redskins?
Two guys with concussions sat out a couple of plays and went back in. Lott was sniffing the smelling salts like it was coke to get his head on straight. I bet his brain looks like Swiss cheese now.
Was thinking the same thing. No real precautions taken for concussed players back then.
Penalizing the home team for crowd noise ???
this is the most heated rival teams here oh my god
Which must have made the sight of Marcus Allen playing for the Chiefs *against* the Raiders the following season all the more difficult for die-hard Raiders fans to deal with emotionally. That was Al Davis' doing, not Marcus'.

do you have 1992 Week 7 L.A Raiders vs Seattle Seahawks full match ???
What Al Davis? No one feared you in 1992, maybe 1982, but definitely not 1992.
2:31:26 Check out the mustache on Olbermann.
Bet Marinvich hit up Westport that night after game. Maybe hooked up with the "Westport Bandit," (aka. Tommy Morrison) and toar up the town.
REAL football, not this bullshit we watch today.
Do you have their 1993 game at Arrowhead?
do u have the game from 1998 where D. Thomas recorded 6 sacks? 1 of them a safety against the raiders.
Las Vegas v. KC, Really. It is always and always be Oakland v. KC. The NFL is all about the green/money. And the magnets.
1:32:20 Meeting of the minds
do you have the game chiefs at raiders 1992? please
Dave Krieg for HOF
Wild how the commentators mention Barry Word's coke distribution charge while actual crackhead QB Todd Marijuanavich is starting for the Raiders.
War between Chiefs vs Raiders?!!!
Krieg, with 2 rushing TDs
Jason Peter's Sup?
1:36:37 tyrant referees.
It’s virtually impossible to prevent any home crowd from being quiet no matter how much they try and penalize their home team for the loud crowd noise.
Elway started that BS.
a penalty for crowd noise might be the dumbest thing I've ever seen

103:42, Johnson County boys, gurantee
1:03:42
Marinovich. What might have been...
Too lazy and didn't want to work... Art Shell was too lax of a coach because Al Davis was too meddling of an owner.
31:15 SKIUUUUUUPPPPP
Chiefs fan don't fear the faiders the faiders fear the chiefs look at the faiders logo hes got an eye patch an the other is closed
10 playoff wins in Chiefs history. Your a loser just like your team.
49:40 BW
Art shell was a great raider player, he just didnt have the qb to win the big games
I hate the Monday night Football intro song!
This version and all corncob music makes me suck they should have just stuck with the early 80s funky disco intro
I still hate Dan Dierdorf cant stand him
30 years later the Raiders are still trash.
