I own one, find it makes me go back to when I started learning photography in 1977, everything was manual and no post correction. So every single shot needs to be calculated and you really need to know what you want. When you get a good shot, so it is so rewarding. I haven’t touched my Sony A7r4 since I got this last November. I’m keeping this baby for my remaining life.
I've had a similar experience. I recently bought a Nikon FM3 -- manual everything. An FM I bought circa 1979 was my first real camera, and I made some pictures that I'm pretty happy with. But it was stolen after a couple of years, and I've "upgraded," gone digital, etc, and in the process got away from the time and intentionality that preparing a shot in the old days required. When I got the FM3 not long ago, I had to re-learn taking the time to calculate exposures, think through composition and so on. It's been a good experience.
I feel that when you‘re comparing cameras and their “depth fall-off and background blur”, you should really tell us which lenses you’re using on each of the cameras. I know this is not a photography or camera review channel, but still
This is a great note! Thanks, bud ~ for all the comparison shots between the 907X, A7c, and iPhone I was using the Hasselblad 80mm F/1.9 on the 907X and the Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L (with a metabones EF - E mount T adapter) on the A7c. -b
She did preface the comparison that it doesn’t really make sense because of the sensor size difference. Sensor size does not directly affect DoF, but it can change the circle of confusion. Long story short, the math is quite complicated, but even if DoF and viewing angle remain constant, the look of the image can be different.
@@MusicBent Yes, but focal length and aperture matter anyways. A photo @90mm f1.2 on medium format would of course have a blurrier background than a photo @16mm f4 on full frame, but that wouldn't be caused by only the difference in sensor size. I think Becca's 90mm f1.9 lens on the CFV sensor (crop factor 0.79, so about 71mm FF equivalent) and the 50mm f1.2 used on the A7c are reasonably close to make an at least somewhat accurate comparisons on the photo's looks though - that just wasn't evident from the video alone.

My first view of a Verge review. Well done! Perhaps the best review of this camera I've seen. I've owned the 907x 50C since last summer and you completely nailed its review, at least in practical terms. Two additional points worth noting. First, the X system uses in-lens leaf shutters. That may be a factor for those needing flash sync speed ranges. It's also often a factor for noise, as it's the LENS that makes the shutter noise. That short 45 you're using is nearly silent but its bigger, faster brother is a CLACK! Second, the camera's menu system is implemented entirely on the touch screen, identical to the Hassy X1D2 50c. It's glorious simplicity. If the 907x is a studious turtle (which it is) it's certainly not due to its menu system. Zoom! Thanks!
Thank you Becca, I had a 500c and now I have a Canon r6. I miss the sound of the shutter, the quality of the functions and the thoughts before I pressed.
Great Video! Hasselblad should produce more of those beautiful cameras, but with video better video resolution/functions and LOG to get the most out of that amazing sensor...or atleast a good HDMI output for external recording...
This camera is mainly built for studio use. Is perfect for portraits and product photography. Especially with a macro 120 mm lens, she can do miracles!! You must use the Hasselblad lenses only with manual focus so you can appreciate the bill quality and the smooth movement. Also, you can attack the camera in a technical body like Sinar or Rollei and use it as a digital back. I wish I have it in my studio. You can't compare the sensor of this camera with any other sensor because is double the size of a full-frame DSLR camera and the pixel are bigger so you can have better color science and perfectly fall off in your images. For a medium format, the camera is fast and not so expensive! It's essentially a digital film camera.

To compare that to 500cm, which the image on screen is reverse is considered a blessing already! Hasselblad is my choice anytime!
One minute silence for those people who requested to compare hasselblad with iphone camera😐
Why ?
@Danilo but the iPhone still can record great videos
@Danilo tbh from what I saw in the quick sample here it wasn't thatttt much worse. I felt it was breezed over too quickly
@@supaahflyy iPhones record phenomenal video footage but the actual camera will win
@@Unknownuserhtps ofcourse. As it should. It's more about seeing how close the most important camera for 99% of people (phone camera), can get to a proper camera
What a beautiful piece of tech
The quality of this video is over the top
