What do you think is the biggest misconception about Jesus?
That he was a white man with blue eyes.
That he actually lived
That he was more than a schizophrenic.
@@chickenlover657 😂😂🤣🤣
That he was trying to tell everyone that they were sons of God too, just like him but they just needed to raise their consciousness.
Jesus being a carpenter often gets understated in a way. People think he was a simple dirt poor carpenter but the carpenter was an important role in the village at the time and the position came with respect. Jesus probably would have been more middle class comfortable than dirt poor at the time
what did he charge for a kitchen set? did he give credit? did he & his dad beat-up people who refused to pay?
@@albertangeloro5832Lol
He wasn't a "carpenter" more like a builder...a brick layer.
What textbook did you get this from
@@brianlarkin8208 he got it from the Galillee Better Business Bureau Report. J C & his father were sued for shoddy work on the Mc Torah Restaurant construction.
I wish I had a Time Machine so I could see this with my own two eyes.
The Vatican invented the chronorvisor which is similar to this concept
@@partsparisalthough i do believe they have some crazy stuff i dont think they could create such a thing
Time machines are fiction just as Jesus Christ.
You will know EVERYTHING, if you make it into the Kingdom of Heaven, my friend
You couldn't because it never happened.
So the last comment in this video, something else to consider. Jesus isn't just saying he is a concept. Due to English not being like Greek at all a better translation of the term that we just translate as I am in the Gospel of John (almost every instance of Jesus saying "I Am" in John) should be "I was, I currently am, and I always will be.. the way the truth and the life" . This is due to the tense the word is in. Also it is the Greek version of the the same term the burning bush uses with Moses when Moses ask the burning bush who is he to say sent him to free Israelites from Pharaoh, the bush replies "I Am"...
As for the marriage thing. One big argument against Jesus being married is the theological thought that yes Jesus is married but his bride is The Church. The church in the NT is referred to the Bride of Christ. In the Revelation of John it actually refers to the return of Christ as the wedding of the Lamb to his bride. Rev. 19:7 for example.
Also I really don't see these as things people try to ignore, just things that maybe take time to discuss. Also can be quite heated if people don't remain calm.
I agree so hard at least and as far as Jesus telling people if they don't eat of his flesh and drink his own blood they cannot be partakers in his Kingdom is both a reference to his death, and it was also to get the people who were only looking for more food off of his back. The first time he said this was after the feeding of the 5000 the people had followed him across the See a gallery I believe and wanted to make him a king but it was only because he fed them miraculously, so he said unless you eat of my flesh and drink my blood you cannot take part in my Kingdom.
Say whatever you want, he sure showed that fig tree … 👊🏼
That's right. You'd better have ripe fruit when I want some!
@@magistrumartium “Do you think I give a flying fig what season it is?!” ~ Jesus
There are over (150) of these anomalies if you re-read the canonical Greek gospels very very carefully - here’s just a very small sample
- in ‘Matthew’ & ‘Mark’ (whoever they were…) ‘Iesous’ curses a fig tree for not bearing fruit out of season but in Luke’s version, it is not an act of cursing but rather a parable about a gardener cursing a tree for not bearing fruit when he happened to be hungry …
- in the synoptic gospels (‘Matthew, Mark & Luke, whoever they were) ‘Iesous’ does not carry the crossbeam on the road to Golgoltha - but a bystander ‘one Shimeon of Cyrene coming to the Feast from the Diaspora, was compelled by the Kittim to carry the crossbeam in his place’ - but in the 4th canonical Greek gospel (‘according to Yohanon the Elder’ whoever he was) it says ‘and Iesous carried the cross by himself on his own [Gk. seauton]…
- Christian children are often told that ‘Jeezuss’ was 33 1/3 years old when he died following ‘Luke’ (‘Now Iesous when he started his ministry was about thirty years old’) but John’s gospel says (‘46 years was this temple in the rebuilding & you will burn it down to the ground and replace it in 3-days without using hands of men?’ then adds : ‘NB ‘but he was speaking of the temple of his BODY’ suggesting that Jesus was 48 years old at his death
[Around the year 160 CE Bishop Iranaeus of Lyons said that he had been a teenage disciple of the 70-year old Polycarp of Smyrna who himself when he was 14-years old became a disciple of the 90-year old John the Elder’ who stated that Jesus was 48 years old when he was executed and that he encoded the fact in his gospel (in a marginalium found in John 2:21)
- if Jesus was 48 years old during his arrest for armed sedition in 36 CE ‘during THE Insurrection’ (at the 100th anniversary of the Roman occupation of Judaea which began in 63 BCE with the invasion of Pompey) that would place the date of his birth around 13/12 BCE which coincided (9th to the 14th of September) with the appearance of Halley’s Comet in Matthew’s birth narrative (‘the star moving from east to west in the sky before finally blinking out over Bethlehem) which is referred to in Luke as ‘in that day you shall see the sign of the BarEnasha in the heavens streaking across the face of the sky from east to west like sheet-lightning’ - maybe like Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) he was born during the appearance of Halley’s Comet (and Twain was told he’d die when it came back 76 years later - and he did !) which was also seen as the sign of a messianic deliverer from Roman occupation as it had done in 164 BCE when the high priest Matathiah Ben Hashmon and his five sons (‘the hammers’) led the revolt against the gentile occupiers (back then it was the SyroGreeks who controlled Judaea) and for 100 years Judaea had semi independence from foreign occupation (that is, until Rome took it over in 63 BCE) - this would make phrases like ‘the times of the gentiles are over; repent and believe the good news of the coming kingdom for these are the Days of Vengeance of our god !’ with other hints like the road to Emmaeus pericope in Luke 23 (‘and they said, Oh yes, we really did believe that he was going to be the one who would deliver Yisroel from foreign occupiers’ - so 13/12 BCE was a ‘messianic year’ for ‘Jesus’ to be born heralded by a Macabbean like star of deliverance in the sky …
I could keep going on for hours but these few tidbits are enough for most beginners or newbies to the material to chew on ! LoL
Thanks for sharing.
"... the possibility of a Mrs. Jesus ... " made me giggle more than it should have 😂
What many people don't understand is that if he did marry.... not only would he have been obeying god's command but also as probably king in exile had to have a heir
😂or Mrs. Christ.
The few I know:
He was a Palestinian Jew named Yehoshua, spoke Aramaic, and probably had 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
If someone could curse a fig tree and make it wither, why couldn't they make it bear fruit instead? That would be a better miracle
I've often wondered just WHY Jesus didn't BLESS that fig tree instead!
Why bother with a tree. Just create a fig and eat it. Who needs a tree?
I feel like Jesus went all Eric Cartman on it. "Well scwew you, fig tree!"
It’s a silly story but it was a metaphor for two-faced religious patrons. People who appear to be righteous at a glance but are revealed to be pretending. Like a fig tree that doesn’t actually bear fruit upon closer inspection.
So much about the Christian faith is mis-translated and can be taken many different ways. My concern is that I believe in God, but not much else when it comes to religion. Christians tell me that I should call to Jesus and believe in him as the savior when most other faiths only view him as a powerful profit and NOT the son of God. What Mary really a virgin? I've heard of translations that say the word used to describe her as a virgin could also translate to "young woman". Christians seem to be the only faith that says Hell is forever. Most others say that you can get out once you've served your punishment for bad deeds. I don't know what to believe. None of it makes sense, and if I only believe in God and live a fairly decent life, helping others as much as I can I will still burn forever.
As far as hell is concerned, it WON'T last forever; the Bible itself mentions that hell, along with death, will be cast into the lake of fire, which is the second death.

Fun facts:
The pigs:
The town that was scared of Jesus, where Jesus sent the demons in the pigs and the pigs then ran into the water was a town, the major town, that produced sacrifices for a false God via the pigs……so basically those pigs were a major part of the economic system in that town. So Jesus Christ showed those people via healing the man of demons & then the pigs running into water; that he was way more powerful than the false God or idol, that the town worshipped and made money from.
-The figs
Jesus Christ telling the fig tree to dry up and be no more is said to be a reference to the original sin in the Garden of Eden b)c…
after Adam & Eve sinned & ate the from the forbidden tree, they then noticed they were naked for 1st time & dressed themselves in Fig Leaves & when they spoke to the lord after this
he asked who told you that you were naked,& why did you cover yourself l: fig leave’s clothes are a sign of Humanity’s 1st sin and separation from God
(Jesus was upset at the people making the temple sinful, sin itself, ect
-and it also showed Jesus had power over a lot more than human, he also had power unheard of at the time over the land, ect……
There is a very logical reason for all the confusion and contradictions
Yes. That happens when one insists on trying to believe nonsense.
Logic? Never heard of him.
@@wangobadankas4038”Nonsense” such as a Big Bang that supposedly created ALL the species and genuses that have been witnessed, plus the variety of predictable weather that’s potentially destructive? And, of course, the bees that work so hard to help plant life to not totally die off? Yeah, I confess, I don’t believe Big Bang caused marvelous variety of life.
There is. Reason for confusion and "contradictions" is that you miss some information to get the whole picture . For example if we take the most confusing testament , the old one compilers multiple times refer to future events before they happened so for example tree of knowledge of good and evil is name dropped right away even though it has no name yet because Adam named everything which is not directly mentioned but it is directly mentioned that human(Adam. The specific use of the man used on Adam refers to both female and male like word mankind does not refer to just men) named another human that God created in front of him life(Eve). There is no actual contradictions there. Its just you missing something and not understanding what is going one. There is sometimes language barrier but its nothing major for example like angels appeared is not actually correct. They showed up, like came up. They never appeared but other than that it has no contradictions.
Is there? Because the gospels can’t even figure out who had the dream of Mary’s pregnancy, where Jesus was born, when he was born, when Passover was, when he died, who went to tomb, who he appeared to, etc.
For someone who performed so many miracles in front of his followers, he sure did have quite of few that left him…. Even turn on him. Makes ya wonder. 🤔 You think God has a tailbone since we’re created in his image?
Jesus asked that we see him as a teacher a friend and brother we are family 🙏
We know he was very close to Magdalene. She was the only one allowed to access his tomb as this was customary for Jewish spouses. Imagine having body cam footage. Folks would still argue about what's on it.
There was no tomb, the tomb was an invention of the gospel writers as a narrative device so they could get Jesus bodily raised from the dead. The gospels are theology not history .
Magdalene kept jesus( i.e worked and gave her money to him) and was the apostles apostle.
Imagine having body cam footage of Golem biting off Frodo's finger :/
I believe they got married at Cana. When they ran out of wine they went to Jesus. He turned water into wine. In those days it was customary for the GROOM to provide the wine for the wedding feast. Makes sense to me. (Gospel of John)
I have created in my mind a happy place ala Adam Sandler's Happy Gilmore called The Fig Tree where all are welcome. In this place Jeshua throws a perpetual party in honor of the fig tree that he cursed. He might be the son of man but how does that innocent tree feel about what did? Godspeed.
My grandparents have a pub called The Fatal Dive at The Fig Tree. Marge takes bets. Frank cooks eggs just the way you like them. Maybe the way your mother made them or your favorite diner. It makes me happy to think about. ❤❤❤
The reference to giving onto God that which is God’s, and giving onto Cesar that which is Cesar’s is often taken to mean that the Church and the State are to be kept separate.
I spent a tour of duty in the Middle East. Most of the adult women I met there were shocked that I was single with no children. I was 22 years old.
My daughter went on a couple of geology field trips in Mauretania. She is plump, and thus desirable to people who are often food-deprived ...and laughed when she told me that she had three proposals of marriage in a three week stay. When she told one man she was already married, he was amazed that she was allowed to travel without her husband there, presumably to guard his property.
There’s a lot going on in your library. It could use a de-clutter overhaul
Well he was Jewish. He didn't start Christianity, he died a Jew, Paul started Christianity. Christ wasn't a last name it means Messiah. He wasn't thrilled with the Jewish leaders and their rules. Maybe today he would be considered a reform Jew.
I think it’s pretty common knowledge that Jesus wasn’t white at this point, but it wasn’t just white peolle that crafted images of him that looked similar to them. I’m sure yall have seen old artwork of Jesus that was Chinese or Indian before? The artist always made him look similar to their surroundings no matter where it was made.

There is a reason Crist was disappointed when he first saw his cross.
Not out sadness it will take his life, but on the joint work, and kind of wood used.
Man, if he wasn't going to start dying soon, he would have Christsplaned how to actually build a sturdy, and durable cross that would last a good long time.

I theorise that Mary his mother was born a virgo.
Virgo was always known as "Virgo the Virgin" like "Leo the Lion" and "Gemini the Twins".
In regards to the cursing of the fig tree: the fact that it started to leave, & yet, no figs on the tree meant something was wrong with the tree, & the fruit would have been bad, when it would come to sprout. So, Christ Made the Right Decision to Curse the tree out of existence, lest people later ate contaminated fruit from said tree.
No Christian thinks that was sophisticated.
Jesus just went fishing for pearls and sold them for money. As for the fig tree it was more likely infected with something and he chopped it down to save other near by fig trees.

I seriously doubt that Yeshua Ben Joseph would be confused if you called Him Jesus. He would be expecting the time displacement passenger when no one else was.
The strange Jesus detail that everyone ignores is that he supposedly existed and is supposedly the son of god.
This detail gets me every time.
I get my story of Jesus' life from Part IV of The Urantia Book. Definitely single, hyper focused on his ministry.
And the biological son of Joseph.
It seems to me all the main religions are vague in their origins and contradictory in their beliefs sad so many people have suffered and been killed over such things
Joseph had a contract making crosses
Did Jesus just make an early version of eyedrops?
Yeah it was called spit did you hear him
Yes. The name "Bausch" was originally a German name for Jesus and "Lomb" was a German word for love so Bausch and Lomb means "Jesus love".
Eating of His body was part of Jesus' claim of Him being the passover lamb, the new covenant. After the Isrealites slaid a lamb to use the blood on their homes for the angel of death to PASSOVER them, they were also commanded to eat the rest of that lamb, the old covenant. Not to be taken literally, just as we are not literally buried and risen from physical death in baptism.
It’s crazy how many people believe in religion but, hey it is what it is. Either they’re all right or they are all wrong. 1 isn’t the “only true religion”
This is why I study all the religions. I get life learning from all of them.

Willy Wonka didn't have a wife.

He was a hard working virtuous man that had a big job to do other than building things. There probably was a Galilean craftsmen, who loved his religion and scriptures, who believed he had a special mission during a time the Jews were begging their God for a Messiah. His real story was probably a lot more mundane than the Gospel writers portrayed it. I don't believe for a second that Pontius Pilate struggled with himself over his guilt or innocence. He gave him the Judas the Galilean treatment as he did many others before and after him. However, the Gospel writers had to tell a story that would connect with Greek-speaking peoples in the Eastern Mediterranean, lest they draw inspiration from the Messianic Jews and decide to spread the Jewish revolt to other parts of the Eastern Mediterranean, further disrupting the Pax Romana. They created a Savior god, not too unlike other mythological figures the Greeks believed in. They made him friendly to Rome and agreeable to paying taxes to the Romans. They had him rise from the dead after washing away the sins of the people with his blood.
Religion is a key element in bringing about the civilization of a people, to move them from their more primitive and barbaric origins to where they would serve the agendas of very powerful people. It gets expensive in terms of blood and treasure to send armies out to the farther reaches of an empire, so using religion to pacify people should make the job a little easier. But like most other political agendas, there are unintended consequences. I don't think Christianity was supposed to survive beyond the first couple of hundred of years.
That's a great take on the situation. I hadn't heard that before. I'm not saying it didn't happen like that but even if it isn't entirely true that the Romans deliberately did this, what does seem to be true is that people in the region were looking for a solution to their poor situation and would readily accept someone who made peace with their oppressors the Romans.

The Bible hasn’t been rewritten and changed, the original Hebrew and Greek text is available to read. They have been carefully translated into multiple different languages, as is many other texts that we read and go by to this day.
I guess the color of jesus skin was to controversial. Arabs didnt conquer egypt until 659 years after the death of christ. 700 years for all of north Africa. That means egypt ,north africa was black. Moses was black. The hebrews he took to isreael were black. A racist woukd say it doesnt matter what his color is then why make him white? This whole video has a white jesus. Jesus was a darkskinned black man with stark white afro and beard. Not because of old age but pure divinity
Abraham and the Hebrews originally came from Ur, which is in Iraq, before they moved to northern Africa. However, Moses married a Cushite (Black woman from what is now Ethiopia), so it is a strong possibility that other Hebrews also married Black people. It is possible Jesus was part Black but we will never know since some Hebrews may have married within their own tribe.

Mrs Christ
Yeah here's one that everyone ignores. "The father is Greater than I am." And here's another "A servant is not greater than his master, nor is one who is sent greater than the one who sent." Jesus is called the servant of God 4 times in the book of Acts, and he says someone else sent him 24 times throughout all the gospels. Jesus ain't God Almighty. He's the Son of God. Pay attention to everything that Jesus says because it's important.
Mrs. Jesus? I think you mean Mrs. Christ ;)
Jesus is our Lord and savior. He's the ONLY way to Heaven
Which kinda of sucks since there are so many non believers and believers of other religious dogma. Does God the forsake all non believers for the sake of belief? What kind of God is that? Does God not love us all regardless of beliefs?

And what would be your evidence Jesus studied Buddhism?
Exhibit A: The fact he didn't exist.
He was an alien! "Ancient Aliens".
If Jesus was alive today he’d be in a mental institution lol
Well they'd try anyway to put him there.
The insane putting the sane away.❤
No Jesus never married. He was Jewish. So it would be Yeshua. The problem with the fig tree was it was the time for fruit. But the Tree was not ready so He Cursed us.He was teaching us our words have power. About the money from the fish. Peter said Jesus would pay the tax.Which was a big Sin because God's Son was not to pay it.But He paid it not to be offensive. About eating Jesus and drinking His Blood. He was talking about the Lord's Body 1COR11:23-30.And some thought He was crazy. But people are Sinners and have Demons on there mind.Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life Because He is God John20:28;1Tim3:16;Hebrews 1:8;1JOHN5:7-8 KJV Bible.
😂🤣🤪🤦♀️
Amen!❤
It's funny that the most blaring ignored detail plays out in every clip that is used here. All the clips show Jesus as a white man.
You speculate on whether he was married or single but what about the references in the Gospel of John to the apostle John as the one "whom Jesus loved" (John 20:2)?
😂😂😂😂
0:52 jesus taught rabbi men at age 12. For 3 days. With out going home with out telling his mother, Which upset his mother .. so he was never a late bloomer
Knowing the Jewish clerical elite were crooked. They weren't fond of him. ✝️
Isn’t it surprising how the same numbers keep repeating themselves in gospel stories. The number 3 , 40, 12 , it’s almost like these stories are just theology and not actually real events.
Late bloomer isnt a bad thing
?
It’s somewhat amusing that this video even takes the existence of a Jesus as a given. He didn’t exist.
Yeshua Barabbas. Jesus was called Son of the Father. Barabbas means bar (son of) abbas (the father), so Pilate released Jesus, son of the Father instead of Jesus, son of the Father. Just sayin’.
I bet he couldn't swim.
Jebus…
Lol 😝
First
Funny shit
Why isn't his name Emmanuel as the angel told Mary?
What does Emmanuel mean to you? Emmanuel=The word
@@TheeGreekGoddess The Bible says: and thou shalt call him Emmamuel, God with us.
Yeshua = Joshua which means God's delivers us, Immanuel means God with Us. It could be argued that one name is who he is, one is what he does. Just like Christ just means Anointed One. In Matt. 1:21 Joseph says the child's name will be Yeshua (Jesus) and it is in Matt. 1:23 the term Immanuel is mentioned. So both are his name according to the angel :) What he does, who he is :)
@@carolgibson-wilson4354 John the Baptist is called Jānis Kristītājs in my native language. You can't really hold onto the whole name thing too much because bible's change the names sometimes so it fits with the language its translated in and sometimes they just don't translate the names at all. John means God is gracious and Jānis means God is gracious too. Like my name is Daniēls which means God is my judge but the actual name in Hebrew is Daniyyel.
Because Immanuel was Isaiah’s son in Isaiah 7:14 and falsely cited in Matthew 1:23
