Nice scenery out there. As a kid we use to go to west Tennessee often. Moms sister lived out that way. Some of my best memories of fishing. I hope to get back up that way and visit family and fish again in the future.

I feel your pain. I drive 80 miles one way to get to my "Catfish capital of Texas" fishing hole( Tawakoni) . So when I go I plan an overnight trip and everything so far has been baby dink fish. I keep going to bigger and bigger baits, bigger rods and bigger hooks like you hoping for a trophy. If you look online there are monsters in that lake. Pray for me. :)

  • @atticus0715

You must be mellowing out. There’s usually a few censored parts when you see that much boat traffic where you’re fishing. 😏 Of course, that all may have happened during the time lapse.
The bite has been tough all summer for me. Watching you catch them is one thing that keeps me going back out though. Can’t wait for cooler temps. Thanks

Hello Dave, I just come across your channel. Thank you for your time & the entertainment.
If I could recommend something about fishing the rivers around here for Cat’s it would be this..
First I look for very fast moving water especially during the summer when water temperatures are warm because it’s more oxygenated and big fish need more oxygen! In the winter big catfish are more likely to be dormant, then I’ll fish slower water “next” to the deepest holes. Next I locate a point and usually it’s next to a sharp river bend and that’s were you find the fastest deepest water from the bank if not the spillway. Last but not least “Fresh chunks of cut bait” Never frozen. “Caught the same day within a few hours! (baitfish between 1-2lbs ) . Leave the bait whole chilled in the cooler before using. Also I use cut baits no less than the size of your hand and replace/check hourly if not drifting.
My last 4 trips during the past few weeks have produced multiple 80, 70, 60, & 50’s. Due to the bait size we hardly catch any less than 20Lbs.
I know you’re not into fishing from boats but If you come to Memphis I’ll take you on a fishing trip on the house!
We can fish from the bank or my boat. Born and raised here I’ve been fishing the Mississippi river in Memphis ever since I’ve had a memory!
I know multiple places that you can drive right up to go fishing and shoot your next video.
It’s about 90 miles west of Savannah. (Google... Fishing Guides in Memphis TN). and you’ll see “Fish Memphis Guide Service”
