  • The Verne Collection is proud to introduce the works of Aimee Lee into the collection. Aimee is a Korean American artist originally from New York who now lives and works in North-East Ohio. In this series of videos, of which this is the first part, Aimee discusses a recent body of works consisting of handmade artist's books with original gouache illustrations depicting her experiences and observations during the early months of 2020.
    Aimee is a Fulbright Scholar who spent time in Korea studying traditional Korean paper-making methods. This research lead to the eventual release of her award winning book titled, "Hanji Unfurled: One Journey into Korean Papermaking". Her works also reside in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) and The Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York City.
