You mean like how Key & Peele had 2 people but a bunch of writers? Or Dave Chapelle. Or The Tracy Ullman Show,, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, etc. Lots of comedy variety shows have only 1 or 2 main actors.

@@Marqk-it's obviously fictional. What are you so confused about? They created a fictional live comedy sketch show, and if they had so many cast members then they couldn't keep up with all of them. They even forgot about Josh after season 1. The focus is more on the behind the scenes, not the show itself.
