Good overview. There are a few things to consider with the EST vs the Re:Flex that may not be clear. The max front angle is 25, and the max rear angle is 15. In both cases you need to jam the binding to the end of the EST range. While that is not an issue for most riders, if you like pushing past that for freeriding you'll be better off on the Re:Flex. The EST eats up a bit of stance-width, too. The new footbed looks nice, and I like the dual-axis way they did the angles and spacing for the EST slot. That said, I wish they did the tick-marks in units of 3 vs 5.
Great production! Super clean and informative! Everything I needed to know! This design def looks much better than the previous generation of the regular reflex step on. I am guessing they will do next years with the same lighter and more sleek design!
i was never interested in trying step ons....my mate twisted my arm and i can say the first few laps i was thinkn wtf have i done...i stuck with them for a day and that was it i was hooked....once i got use to how responsive they were i was 100% in.....will never go back..i ride hard and fast and feel super locked in...give em a crack if you havnt all ready..
Arrived yesterday! These are so light. They each weight 740g so 1480g as a pair. For context the carbon Supermatics are 1250g each. Not saying they are better (each to their own) but if weight is a consideration for you these are crazy light.
Hi. What is the max. binding angle? I understand EST has a limit of about 25 deg. Have been waiting for EST step on, but also started riding posi / posi with higher front angles lately. Thanks.
They will not. Once they are on a board, with a boot, they can not flex the way I showed. That was to show how they allow for the most natural board flex
@@SearchofSnowboarding I like your optimism but I dont share it, I see rocks, branches, bigger piles of snow, board tips digging in as few events that could potentially flex the whole board, boot , binding setup. you flexed it like that with your bare hands. when the stuff is on your feet and riding the forces are much bigger.
@@newrenaissance once they're mounted to a board and your boot is in there, they literally can't flex the way shown in the video. It wouldn't be feasible for the board and baseplate to flex enough between the binding's mounting bolts for them to pop out, especially with your boot restricting that flex even further. But I'm sure your feelings override the mechanical engineering put into designing these and the literal years spent testing them with industrial machinery, huh? PS: nice videos. 13 years between them and you've had zero progression and completely lack anything resembling board control. If somehow you could pop out of these bindings, it would never happen to you with your level of riding.

Great video dude its cool to see these hit the market
Thanks TJ! People have been waiting too long for these!

Thanks so much! Yeah hopefully we'll see the other Step On models become available in the EST option next year
Congratulations on almost 20k subscribers!! 🤘🤘
We almost there, thanks for the support!
I'm waiting for the est x.
You and a whole lot of other riders
Love my 2024 step ons.

Great to know, I think that is similar to most people's experience
It will be interesting to see what Union bring to the table now they are in!
I know, hoping to ride those Union's as soon as I can get my hands on them!
Is Union going to make a Step On Binding?@@SearchofSnowboarding
@@TheeAaron Yes they are, Union Atlas Step On coming soon
@SearchofSnowboarding Interesting

It's just the same as any other EST binding so about 25 deg
I did not realize this when I got the EST version and am now returning them.
Funny to hear some of the same things that were claimed about baseless bindings back in the 90s
"Contacts" - I never had any, but was wild to see horseshoe shaped metal with a lowback and no base whatsoever.
These bindings will only mount on burton boards exclusively?
Any board with an EST Channel
YouknowhowlongIvebeenwaiting4dis
ToooooLong
You missed out nitro and soon union also make bindings with burtons step on tech
Neither have dropped yet, but looking forward to making a video on them when they do
these bindings flex so much im pretty sure the front boot clips are going to let go in certain situation and then its straight to full eject.

@@newrenaissancea tree or rock is a far worse problem then a lose binding? I’d actually rather hit a tree without a board stuck to my feet idk
So, an advertorial?
Option Snowboards' step on from the late 1990s was better.
Endeavor boards run channel as well though.
and so does Signal

I’ve been riding standard step ons since the first day they were offered. Zero issues.

Burtons design team is going down quickly. These look like some walmart edition step ons.
I’ve tried em. They actually feel higher quality that the original
